Just going to point out, with regards to the race AI tests: Forza horizon 5's ai actually DOES change behavior SIGNIFICANTLY based on what cars they are in. You see a sliver of it with them just trying to bull you out of the way in the trucks, but then when in exotics/sports cars they try to go around. It's weird for that to not be acknowledged.
Both games look great, but from where I'm sitting, it seems a difference between micro and macro. This is especially with the cars. NFS has a much closer focus on the cars themselves due to the extensive customization and the fact you can do bumper deletes and whatnot, so they fit into the 'micro' category here. Meanwhile, FH has focused on the open world more than the individual details of the cars themselves (altho, some of the parts do look better in FH for me, like the rear key slots and badge on the GTR), resulting in a more interesting and cohesive open world. Their genre also attributes to this, Horizon is a simcade, blending both simulator depth and arcade looseness. This means the open world NEEDS to function relatively realistic or it'll be out of place. NFS is purely arcade, meaning the destruction of the open world isn't necessarily a major priority in the development pipeline. And the cities are a great example of this as well. NFS's city is 90% boxes and flat roads from what we saw here with some extras to make it more dynamic (the railroad tracks and some elevation changes. And while it makes sense for a big city to look like this, I personally think that more time should have been spent on the dynamisms of the city as a whole and making the building textures seem less flat. Horizon adds so much variability to every building and street, showing the dedication to macro scale. When I look at Horizon, I can see a fully realized product that could be released as-is (the bugs and stuff at launch notwithstanding, as I am focusing on the graphics here). Meanwhile NFS in my opinion, looks like a high-end tech demo. Flat textures, no major dynamics between each of the buildings and not enough detail within the city itself. Thank you for coming to my rant. Please, have a complimentary crouton.
The one from forza had much more finer details, his contrast must be high because I’ve seen on other cars the carbon fiber to the smallest degree, the mesh in vents, every single mark in a taillight, etc. nfs lacks in small detail but improves on the larger more glowing details
Forza more on the IRL style, and will no doubt be superior no matter what. NFS does focus on that and stays arcade as it always has been. Graphically both are amazing.

Guanajuato is amazing. People are just used to have modern cities in every racing game. I give props to Playground/Turn10 to try doing something different (including Edinburgh in FH4)
Some of the graphics details on the cars specifically appear to come down to shaders used by the devs on a given model or the environment the screenshot was taken in that affects lighting. Because the model itself doesn't appear much different, only how much they obscured details, how bright the shadows are, how bright the light source is, and how reflective they set the paint/metal to. Rough / metal level is literally a slider in these 3D programs, and most of the time when you're doing hard surface modeling and rendering, you're literally just eyeballing it. it depends on exactly what sort of feel they want to capture and what details might be too harsh and distracting for the style they are going for. Forza appears to diminish small details for whatever reason, or maybe just not bump mapping them too much or not contrasting them to the level of Unbound. NFS Unbound is also aggressively stylized with this hybrid of anime and hyper-realism, so it makes sense that they'd turn up the volume on small details. They are definitely there equally in Forza, they're just more blended in, the transparency, bump mapping and metallic levels are just set differently. Good or bad is subjective. The environments not being that special up close makes sense to me for NFS, the idea is to be going too fast most of the time to notice the flat shrub/grass panels. Handling-wise, NFS would suck with good physics lol
I'd argue that Unbound looks slightly lower poly count. You can see that the circles look less circular, for instance. But it's only really going to be noticed up close like this. Unbound does seem to dial up the shininess and detail just a tad, I think. It's a little flashier while still looking *pretty* real. Which is pretty NFS.
5:29 seems like you're also using the RT self reflection in photography mode And it surely make the close up view of the GTR on Forza is miles better than Unbound
Forza horizon 5 has no deal looking as detailed and photorealistic as it does, but thats it, that's all it has, it's such an incredibly beautiful boring game. Unbound is more stylistic, but it has arcade physics to carry the game, and for most people thats more fun to play.
Forza Horizon 5 is a nice looking game and it has great physics. However, it’s a sandbox game and it get can boring pretty quickly due to lack of motivation. NFS Unbound is NOT better than FH5 nor is it even a good NFS game. Bad physics, bad music, bad art style, terrible performance score mechanic.
@@SpeedsonicOddTristan in short, this is your opinion on both games, for me both games have their strengths and weaknesses FH5 is beautiful and has a very good gameplay mixing arcade with simulator but that's it, boring and empty progression, cars with generic soud and no individuality (the time when FH dominated in graphics is gone) NFS Unbound has much better graphics NFS Unbound has an average gameplay that's a fact that comes from the older NFS, but it is compensated with very deep customization of cars, sound design of the cars is simply fantastic (all the sound part with the exception of the music is something amazing) graphics is certainly one of the best to date featuring the most immersive and beautiful map in the franchise but it's my opinion, if it's good or bad that's another story

NFS Payback showed promise and so they stripped it down and made Heat, Heat was a better success but it still required more fundamental core changes to make a new type of NFS game engaging and fun and so we got Unbound, not the perfect NFS game, but a step in the right direction on what progression, risk and rewarding the player should feel for a NFS game, one that we actually haven't felt since MW05 really. Thankfully Unbound as only just released and it's going to be expanded upon further.....well, if EA doesn't decide to kill it before it can shine like it did with Heat.
The cars in nfs are lower polycount and you can see more obvious straight edges along curves more, but they are more dimensionally accurate more or less, whereas forza's dimension accuracy varies to a point where if you see the real thing often, it takes away from the experience. This particular r34 is one of the not so good ones from forza (and one of the older recycled models) if you're nitpicky, but it's not as bad as their other models.
Note on the AI: Forza's AI is done via deep learning of actual players racing, so it does get a bit fucky at times. The AI will actually ram you and block off you off in certain races and difficulties thanks to half of the Forza community being shameful rammers. I say this as someone who loves the game

Well people hate it when you are driving like a boss and a goddamn tree ruins their pace. Realism ain't fun(not always). It's not about how hard implementing stuff is, it's about game feel
One undeniable fact is that FH5 somehow looks freaking photorealistic. Like there's no game in recent years that looked photorealistic(except for RDR2 but that's an unfair comparison). The vegetation felt like it could be a base for a first person game. While NFS Unbound just looks bad to average at best. It cannot even match upto 2016 NFS. And that's just sad
Theres no competition in realism and graphics for forza but i like the gameplay of nfs just a little bit more ....both games are super at their own places

Great video ! From my experience with Forza Horizon 4 and 5, the traffic does stop for a few seconds if something is in the way, but if they can bypass you without leaving their lane too much, they will eventually do it (for example, if you're slightly on the side of the road). The traffic AI is pretty much unchanged between both games. They do stop at stop signs and indicate their intent with their blinkers, but they do not stop at traffic lights, which are always green, except in the Lego Speed Champions DLC in FH4, which does feature functional traffic lights, with traffic that reacts accordingly. Vehicle details in Horizon 4 and 5 is pretty stunning for a video game, but if you get familiar with it, and are someone who pay attention to those kinds of details, it's easy to see its flaws, and it's especially worse if you are a car enthusiast, as I've seen a few friends get disappointed with weird details that should or shouldn't have been on some car models. In most cases though, the game does really well on screenshots.
Horizon games SUCK. They are devolving so fast that driving physics is the only thing going on for them really. Otherwise it’s the same recycled car list, the same BORING customization, same boring narrow road races, same cheating ai, same utter lack of a sense of speed. As soon as NFS gets rid of btd there’s gonna be no reason to even look at FH. Forza horizon 5's ai actually DOES change behavior SIGNIFICANTLY based on what cars they are in. You see a sliver of it with them just trying to bull you out of the way in the trucks, but then when in exotics/sports cars they try to go around. It's weird for that to not be acknowledged.
also depends on what difficulty you have your Ai on
Both games look great, but from where I'm sitting, it seems a difference between micro and macro.

The one from forza had much more finer details, his contrast must be high because I’ve seen on other cars the carbon fiber to the smallest degree, the mesh in vents, every single mark in a taillight, etc. nfs lacks in small detail but improves on the larger more glowing details

Unbound is basically animation car game
Unbound fails with that too, i would consider auto modelista as an animation car game
5:29 seems like you're also using the RT self reflection in photography mode
And it surely make the close up view of the GTR on Forza is miles better than Unbound
Nfs has body kits and more visual customization in general, but it has a lot smaller garage.
@user-wx7mx4xw9k may get boring but I'm still signing in every week to get more cars
@@SpeedsonicOddTristan in short, this is your opinion on both games, for me both games have their strengths and weaknesses
FH5 is beautiful and has a very good gameplay mixing arcade with simulator but that's it, boring and empty progression, cars with generic soud and no individuality (the time when FH dominated in graphics is gone) NFS Unbound has much better graphics
NFS Unbound has an average gameplay that's a fact that comes from the older NFS, but it is compensated with very deep customization of cars, sound design of the cars is simply fantastic (all the sound part with the exception of the music is something amazing) graphics is certainly one of the best to date featuring the most immersive and beautiful map in the franchise

@@beeboopboo how was it rushed? They worked on for 3 years thats rushed?
@@youssef1770 It's because EA fired Ghost(The studio for nfs heat) and went back to Criterion(the 2010-2014 games of nfs)
@@beeboopboo Unbound had 3 years of development, rushed is not the correct word, the correct word is experimental, NFS games for years have been throwing a rock at the wall and seeing if it sticked to it, that's why only a few games in the franchise only got sequels (Underground, MW to Carbon and Hot Pursuit for examples)
Ever sense Blackbox got shut down due to EA's constant meddling and blame shifting in their games, NFS games have had an issue with sticking with 1 consistent view and the wide variety of games and fans didn't exactly help either as it was hard to stick to one formula and perfect it.
