I recommend reversing the image. When its done, you can view it through the other side and the clarity is much better, especially if you use edge lighting LED strips. FYI for those asking - Diode lasers won't work on clear acrylic without some treatment because it goes through it.
@@ImagR-Laser He meant, not reversing image like you did, bur engrave in original view and then reverse/flip acrylic sheet instead so the result is much better seen from the other side ;-) especially if later RGB led light is used 👌
@@jazzsheehandiode lasers are blue light so this method will not work because the laser light passes right through the acrylic. There are other hacks but all come with trial/error and inconsistencies.
Would a light coat of watered down dish detergent work as well as the alcohol, or better? Ive never used alcohol, but the detergent works great, just rinse under water, no rubbing.
Great, I have a photo which comes through to start at 72 dpi but , don’t know why starts also at 1034 mm which I resize to 100 mm width is this increasing the resolution of the photo????? Also the photo, like marriage photos the man is dark and the lady is white what’s best to get an even playing field here? Thanks
yes, but then underneath the acrylic sheet you have lay down some dark piece of paper which will reflect the beam and engraving will be not on top of the acrylic sheet but on the back. Some black sketch paper works fine or any other thicker black paper or cardboard
Wrong, we have a LED light company we run for a living and made over 10000s LED Lamps. The scenario you mentioned NEVER happened. www.eplastics.com/blog/chemical-resistance-acrylic-plexiglass
You‘re actually engraving it on the backside of the acrylic. If you won‘t mirror, it will look wrong after engraving, especially with fonts. If you engrave it on the front you will get a weird parallax effect.
@ImagR Thank you very much for the explanation. I did my first test and the mirror one looks a lot better. It actually looks like it has a depth to it. Question for you: I have a Lightburn file but it won't load into imagR. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks 😊

The image is correctly mirrored
Have to keep this in mind, just getting started this week myself but looking forward to these a lot. Makes sense viewing the reverse though.

Does it work with 10w diode lasers too?
I wish you have the setting for 10w diode laser
Hi,
Does this technique only work with CO2 or will it also work with diode lasers?
Sadly no reply

I did that before, but it was annoying to wash off all the soap from the acrylics. On alcohol i am way faster, and definitely don‘t get watermarks.
Do you engrave on the face with plastic protection film ?
Thank you
for a 130W co2 laser what is the best parameter engraving on that image?
What laser are you using.
I really appreciate it, it's very helpful to me

I hve 130w laser so hw can I settle power n speed
Where can you purchase the laser?
You really don't want to use isopropyl after cutting with the laser as a common problem is crazing and micro cracking due to the alcohol

Good morning considering that you use the same RDWORKS software as mine where do I find the settings you suggest? thank you in advance

Everyone can use the way I shown without an account.
Only difference with an account is that is does help the speed up the work abit but thats about it. Or if youre offline that helps also.
