I looked at a Tranx last year ( the 400 hg) and wound up buying a Daiwa Prorex instead. It had almost twice the drag 30 lbs compare to 18 lbs, plus the T-wing level wind for casting. And I love it. Smooth, great drag, casts a mile. but yesterday I saw a good deal on a new tranx 400 at a swap meet and bought it for $275 full of 40 or 50 lb braid. Weird that the Tranx 300 has 22 lbs of drag and 400 has only 18. But I'll give it a try. Let's see how it handles a 45 lb river striper. Used it for a few weeks now and I like it. It looks gorgeous on my swimbait rods and casts well, its smooth. I got the 400hg. Only issue is my drag goes from zero to max in only like 2 clicks of the star drag. Have 50 lb power pro on it now. Love the power handle
@@216edwin yes. Its a good reel all around, but the diawa prorex 400 is def better. The drag is twice that of the tranx, but other than that they are pretty equal as far as smoothness and casting. I havent caught anything over 25 lbs on it yet. Im sure it will handle a 50 lb fish, no problem
i have 4 Curados and love them, but my next reel may be the Tranx 400HG to go on my first dedicated swim-bait rod...(thinking Dobyns 807 or 867) it has a single power handle, but I will probably change it to the large paddle handle that is on yours and i agree that the older Curados are very cool looking!
Hi Mr Bass Thanks for your review of this great reel ! I'm from France and i'd like to know the name of the lure you show in the middle of your video. Great job, thanks !
I have definitely thought about it and watched quite few videos about it. Thanks. I hope you can hop on the live stream monday at 8pm CST. I have more unboxing and I'm going to give away more prizes with the spin to win wheel.
No. I have several curado's but not the 300k. Sorry. I hope you can hop on the live stream monday at 8pm CST. I have more unboxing and I'm going to give away more prizes with the spin to win wheel.
Nice review, but Shimano just too much money for me.. I am using the lews skipping and pitching.. I can never sling a bait 100 yard, nevertheless 220+ yards.. so all you are doing there is wasting line. The lews Sp has 20# of drag. so very close to this one.., and the lews is nearly half the cost.. Shimano makes nice products, but they are too proud of them for budget

Have you used the shimano tranx yet

Just picked mine up this past week off eBay. Got the 300 HG Brand New in the box for $215 total! Stole it man won the final bid “sniped” it of course.
Score!
Super classy swimbait outfit man. I love the old Curados. Looks great on the Irod.
Thanks so much. My next live stream will be on Monday Night at 8pm CST. More unboxings
I like that reel for deep diving cranks in the winter
It's a great reel for deep divers, especially since you need to make very long casts.
Just bought a 5.8.1 great vid!
You are gonna love that reel! Hope to see you on the live stream Saturday at 8pm CST

It’s an 8" Huddleston.
Mr.Bass need to rig that hud with the treble hook

Is that a 300A,300AHG? What’s the A mean?
Have you tried the curado 300k yet? I almost got one but they are out of stock so I got a tranx 300
No. I have several curado's but not the 300k. Sorry. I hope you can hop on the live stream monday at 8pm CST. I have more unboxing and I'm going to give away more prizes with the spin to win wheel.
Can you use it for salmon fishing 🎣 or maybe recommend one
Are you able to do skip casting with this heavy reel ? Also , what is the minimum weight it can cast beautifully ?

Would the Tranx 200 also be good for swimbaits? Or go to the 300?
Great for swimbaits. Size is more about your preference
hello there in the video you showed the cured 300 and the tranx which is better? which one suits me best?

I really think it's personal preference. I'm really liking the Trance but it's pretty beefy
Some reason my gear cover is super hard to take off...
You can almost get 200 yards of 20lb flouro.
Do you plan on replacing the handle with a power cranking handle?
No. It comes with a very stout handle that gives you plenty of leverage. I'm going to keep it.
What is the price
$279.99
never got your email address

This is a horrible review. you haven't even used it and yet reviewed it.
Thanks for the feedback. Fortunately, you have lots of options on UA-cam.
