As someone who just beat the series, It's easily made it's way into my top 3. It might just be emotions but I really wanted closure I don't feel that I got. But overall, I had an amazing time.

Agreed. I think if they had more time to really flesh it out it could've been better.

Synthesis is the wrong ending. It's what happens to Saren when you fight him at the end of the ME1.

It’s what he wanted though right? Except he was just indoctrinated and became a husk.

while i agree its all about the journey, at it was an incredible journey, i think ME3 was on its way to being one of the greatest games of all time. The ending made me feel like the adventure was so pointless that it killed all replayability for me. Good thing they had that multiplayer, that was really good.

So I will say as someone who’s considered one of the newer players to mass effect the ending to 3 wasn’t terrible in my opinion but I can definitely feel the markings of an story they didn’t entirely know how to end

Trust me, the ending when it first came out was complete and utter BS. Disappointing does not begin to describe it. I honestly thought I did something wrong and lost the game, must have made the wrong choice. In disbelief I reloaded and tried the other choices….it was awful.

They added stuff that made it somewhat better, but back in 2012 the original ending was just lacking. But it’s a great series overall glad you got to experience it!

I read somewhere it was due to EA being terrible that it is. Also 2 was such a great stand alone game there wasn’t too much set for 3.

@@hyperglance68 ya my problems with 3 more lie in the realm of how they handled the War Assets aspect of the game, more specifically how a good chunk of the side content associated with it can be summed up as fetch-questing

The end was rushed out. They need more time In the kitchen

ME3, and its ending(s) are a complete and utter dog fart of bad writing, shitty development, and poor management. BioWare bit off more than they could chew, especially considering that they have been hemorrhaging talent since ME2 wrapped up. The people that brought he Magic of ME1 and 2 left the company before ME3 even began, and it shows. While there are some decent moments in ME3, for the most part the game feels rushed (because it was). The ending(s) feel awful, and everything about them breaks lore with the first game. First off, Vigil in ME1 can detect Indoctrination - a very important point that would have solved a lot of issues and been a very strong thing to use against the Reaper sleeper agents. Secondly. Vigil gave us code that could override Sovereign AND the Starbrat by unlocking Mass Relays around the Citadel, Comms Channels, as well as opening the Citadel to expose Sovereign. The very presence of the Starbrat is even more dumb, because it negates the need for the story trope of a Reaper left behind to signal the invasion that begins the next cycle (Sovereign). We also learn in ME2 with the Arrival DLC (included standard in the ME:LE) what happens when a Mass Effect Relay blows up - it wipes out the entire star system it was in. Looking at the endings in particular points out even more blatant issues - anything and everything to do with using Reaper tech is proven by game lore to be indicative of Indoctrination. This means even attempting to use the Crucible with the Citadel (known Reaper Tech) was a horrible idea. The Blue and Green endings amount to the same thing - bonding with the Reapers. The only option is Red, and only in one scenario of that trash can Shepard "live", if you can call it that. On top of all that bad writing, this is not how you should end a trilogy. Even worse, now that BioWare is trying to go back and put things in order to make a new game, the Milky Way Galaxy is properly Borked because of Hack Walters and Casey Hudson screwed the pooch. This is why BioWare tried to go to Andromeda - and you saw how stupendously badly that went.
