You took an old pipe and turned it into art. You are a Magnificent Bastard, god bless ya. I am also on the quest for 4 inch copper... (Flute) ...Someday... Cheers!
G'day Ed, Thanks very much! It gives you a good feeling re-tasking something that's been discarded or thrown out, … not to mention how much cheaper it works out than buying mint 4inch tube from a plumbing supplier - and then for something odd like 4 inch copper they usually want you to buy a full 5-metre length minimum! Yep, a flute or some site-glasses/bubble plates would be nice. Recently started silicon-bronze brazing copper-to-stainless with my TIG torch which opens up some nice possibilities with building copper sight-glass T's in future. Happy Distilling fella!

Hi again, It's the outside diameter. The only 4" I can seem to find is copper tubes sold on websites for model steam trains. Everything else is 108mm with the wall thickness of 1.5mm so there will probably be a gap of a couple of mm. There are loads of stainless steel tubes at 4" but I want to go with copper for my column then have a copper dephlegmator inside a stainless jacket like the one I've seen in your video. Do you think I could tap the edges of the copper pipe inwards a couple of mm just to get a tighter fit around the ferrule?
Wow lucky man finding that one!

What are you polishing that up with after the buffing? Looks great!

What does Dad run on? ;o)
Hi there. What's the size of this pipe? In the uk we only have 108mm copper pipe. Will a standard 4" ss ferrule work with a 108mm pipe?
Hey Stuart,
Is the 108mm an internal or external dimension on the copper tube you've got?
Happy Distilling!
