alpha radiation doesn't penetrate skin. It can't even penetrate paper. What makes radon so scary is that it gets past your skin because you breathe it in, which is where it causes damage.
It's beta radiation, which is mostly harmless since even human skin can block it, though breathing in beta-decay isotopes is not safe, since they can go into the lungs, which have no such shielding. This is also why uranium glazed pots are safe, as long as they aren't chipped, when chipped they can spread radioactive dust. In larger quantities though, the small-ish amount not blocked becomes large enough to do damage, so protection is needed for large amounts of uranium, but not for a few pots.

"this uranium ore."
*proceeds to pick up with bare hands*
The amount of radiation is very very small
@🐆Phoenix The Cheetah 🐆 is uranium ore. Not pure uranium.
@🐆Phoenix The Cheetah 🐆
It's uranium ore. Only like .7% of that can even be used as fuel.
Also, eeeverything is radioactive. But different materials produce it at different rates, and they produce different kinds of radiation. It's not always dangerous. You can look it up on EPA dot gov for more information.
@🐆Phoenix The Cheetah 🐆Soon...
@🐆Phoenix The Cheetah 🐆 thankfully uranium ore isnt that dangerous. Tough yes it can and will do tiny amounts, it shouldn't penetrate the dead skin layer assuming you aren't handling or crushing it. Tough yeah as mentioned its probably not the best thing to hold tough it's nowhere near the worst
"Radon is very radioactive"
Proceeds to touch the uranium ore like it's nothing.
Sniffs it like coccaine.
Cody is a madman.
it's harmless
i am not american you idiot
Was that ever a doubt?
@Evi1M4chine For the time that it was exposed, it was harmless. Btw you could sprinkle uranium flakes into your cereal and it would be just about as toxic as lead or mercury (well not as toxic as mercury as mercury would dissolve into your bloodstream easier)
workers that brought uranium ore to marie curie, died from cancer. marie curie studied the ore and touched it with her own hands, died from cancer. Her chair in poland on which she sat is still radioactive.

*OH DEAR GOD WHY IS XENON SO HEAVY*
If you're wondering, these are their approximate densities at rtp.
He: 0.17 kg/m³
Ne: 0.84 kg/m³
(air: 1.25 kg/m³)
Ar: 1.67 kg/m³
Kr: 3.58 kg/m³
Xe: 5.46 kg/m³
Rn: 9.25 kg/m³
*Og: 12.25 kg/m³
*if Og really is still a gas at rtp despite relativistic effects.
There is a correlation between density and the vocal effect gases give. Derived from v=fλ, when wavelength is kept constant and speed increases (due to denser medium), frequency heightens, vice versa.
Despite what now?
What if soild
@@messiyer13 Realtivity is one reason why Mercury is a liquid at room temperature iirc

If you ever try this again in any type of way, they sell cans of pure oxygen at most stores or sports stores that are made for when you are working out you can use it to breathe and it helps when you are winded. You could use it in between to help get the oxygen back in your lungs and body a lot safer and quicker. Just a cool tip.
