Sanding deer antler now that's a smell you never forget. Brilliant thanks I've never seen wood been burnished that way with a chunk of fire wood brilliant. Great as ever bro just off to eBay now 😀😀
That is the way I was taught to burnish wood to give it some color in places you wanted it :) I never knew any other way other than by doing it by hand… using a lathe is soooo much easier… and I agree, sanding dear antlers or antlers / horns of any type leaves a smell that just sticks to you and follows you around for hours….
I’m very impressed. I’ve not tried any of the character turnings yet. I’m fairly new to wood turning. After seeing this video. I don’t even want to attempt it. Your creativity is really good.
Bah! Find ya some soft scrap wood - maybe where they're building houses. Ya might have to glue a few pieces together and clamp overnight. Give it a go! Never hurts to practice and experiment! Cheers!
Thank you Blake, I've had over 20 year of doing stuff like this, if you saw my first works you would be shocked !! keep practising, the more you do the better you'll become :)
I was burnishing a piece for this little snowman I was making and I wanted the top hat to be black or as close to black as I could get… I ended up setting it on fire… well, I got the black top hat lol….
HI’ Santa my kids are asking why your workshop so dimmd? More illumination on your workshop please so they can see your wonderful and amazing work 🙏👏👏👏

I don’t know what this weird substance you used to make him is, but it’s cool none the less. lol (really nice turning actually.)
😂😂👍thanks John, just learning the turning, still prefer the metal though 👨🏭👍
SUPER...
Thanks Romanas👍👍
It would be nice if you explained what and why you are doing each step, just watching you throw shavings and adding color tells us nothing.
Way too much work for me but nice job friend.
