    Bruh, all your videos are so packed full of info. A pen and pad are a necessity. I been training for 5 years and have watched a ton of channels. Yours by far has been the most "non-fad" informative.

    Really enjoy your videos! I hate when people can't back their "do this " videos with science. The amount of effort you put forth for each video is great! Now my question, I started out in August 2016 and have essentially reached my weight loss goals. Now I'm trying to add muscle and strength, turns out I look like a string bean when I cut down. The are so many different points of views that I can't seem to find a straight to the point carb/protein ratio for gaining mass, without adding fat, in woman.

    combine steady state and hit and your body wont get used to either. that beeing said, i started with 2 times quite insane Hit sessions per week, eventually figured out that i can get there without it aswell and just went with a continious deficit. So you can actually get there without cardio aswell, it just takes longer. starting with 1 session per week and increasing it to 3 at the very end sounds reasonable to me

    This video could not have come at a better time! Love the content you've been putting out, keep it up. As far as auto regulation and increasing cardio per week- how do you know when you should increase sessions? Obviously if you're making changes week to week you probably don't need to increase, but how long would you typically wait before increasing if you think you're starting to plateau?

    This is some great information because i wanna lean down but not lose my muscle. Do you have any recomendations for me because im about to start cross country and ive been weightlifting in the mornings (just dumbell exercises because thats all thats available to me). Would that be too much on my body, specifically my legs, i drink a protein shake after my workouts but its hard to get protein in all my meals especially during school. Would you recomend just sticking to one or is there a way i could possibly still run long distance and grow my muscles ?

  • @cbeek04

    Brendan--how would you implement lower movement HIIT sessions if your powerlifting program has you squatting and/or deadlifting every lifting session? My current DUP schedule is: Mon: S/B/D; Wed; S/B; Fri: B/D; Sat: S. Should I just do upper movement HIIT and steady state machine cardio only?

  • @DANdelionsLife

    One question, with this plan, our calories while cutting should be in maintenance or still deficit? I'm understanding it as it should be maintenance and the HIIT/SSC will be the "deficit" correct?

    Are there any specific advantages of doing cardio/HIIT while cutting (besides health benefits) or is it just the fact that they make the whole process easier? I mean, if I just stick to walking/moving around more, will adding some cardio/HIIT help me increase my strength/size?

    what books do you recommend for learning to program

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  8 років тому +2

      Jose t it depends on where you're at. Starting strength will give you some good foundational knowledge. Greg nuckols also has some amazing articles which I've read almost all of them start to finish. Super training is great however it's complicated to understand for some.

    Good vid.....but too much info at one time. You need to simplify & dumb it down so people can readily follow your advice. . If I had your board info before me as you talked I might have retained more. Keep making vids you got some good & pertinent info to share.

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  8 років тому +6

      houstonlearner Understandable! I don't really see how this could be simpler however I will continue to always improve. I wouldn't want to end up sounding like other youtubers by not giving exact equations and numbers to direct my followers. You can screen shot this if need be and if I were to say something along the lines of "start small with cardio" that wouldn't do anyone much good as that's broad. I'd rather give too much info than too little.
