nobody doubts the scientific method, they doubt the motivations of politicians that use the rhetoric of science to say things definitively. as a scientist and a lawyer myself, science to me is a continued conversation with reasonable pushback and investigation of observations & testing. it is not something that you “believe or disbelieve” in such a binary way. look, the cdc is still coming out with new information every day, learning new things that sometimes overturn our previously held beliefs. i’m just saying it’s silly to suggest anybody doubts “science,” they doubt improperly wielded tools that help us investigate the world.

No one doubts science in the sense that when there's a scientific vs. religious explanation, people prefer the scientific one. But there could be doubt within the science as mentioned in the video, like this study says A but that study says B, which one should I trust? Even someone who is hardline anti-mainstream science always refers to a quack scientist to make their point instead of going "this is what my religion says and you're wrong for thinking otherwise!"

What an amazing presentation!! Really shows how much people want us to over complicate nutrition to their benefit. Man has evolved to thrive on a variety of diets, he couldn't be picky thus it makes sense that we have a very forgiving stomach.

This is still the best video on the fundamentals of nutrition I've seen on this site. Its conclusions are the only ones that account for why, contrary to what the diehard believers in a particular diet (ehem keto, paleo etc.) say, people with all sorts of varied diets can be extremely healthy.

Thanks Dr. Mike for highlighting the importance of scientific consensus. People put so much stock in fad diets and supplements and making binary moral judgements about foods that they miss the broad strokes that actually matter.
Just eat the right amount of calories most of the time, eat a varied range of healthy food most of the time, and exercise some of the time, and you can do and eat whatever you like for the rest of the time and still be healthy.
