I have a Sony A1 + 35mm f1.4 GM and a Q3. I end up using the Q3 for pictures almost exclusively unless it's not handy and I need to grab a quick picture. Picture quality, sharpness, rendering, colors, and user experience make the Q3 a joy to use.
I couldn't agree more! I myself am a full on Sony user and will always use those cameras for my videos/professional work. With that being said, it is fun to just be able to grab one camera and be able to point and shoot with it!
I don't even have any intention to buy the Q3 or anything, just appreciated your photography, takes on photography in general and some of the dope locations around Oregon. Great video man.
I just brought the Q3 43 and am loving it. I had the Q2 but didn’t like the 28mm focal length. Too wide for me. The 43 is more of my vibe. I love that it requires minimal editing afterwards. Did you edit these photos much?
I have a Q2 and an M11, which I bought about 15 months after the Q2. I’ve now had the M11 for over 2 years and I think I take better photos with the Q2 and I’m finding that I have to force myself to take the M11 out for a shoot. I can always shoot at 1/15s and sometimes lower with the Q2 and only sometimes at 1/15s with the M11 and never lower. I do a fair amount of IR photography and that’s the only area that the M11 is significantly better than the Q2. How do you find the output of your M11 compared to the Q3?
I love that your dogs name is Killua ❤❤ lol. Colors in these shots were amazing, the PNW is such a gorgeous area. Im wondering if you would please please make a video where you show us some raw photos out of one of your leicas. And how you edit for things like harsh midday light? I would be SO grateful ❤ While I dont have a Q3, I want to start getting more out of my Q2 raw files. Thank you for the video!
Awesome video man! The shots you shared are just stunning. But I guess editing in post they didn't feel different compared to the M11, right? If I remember it correctly they both share the same sensor. Did you ever shot with the first digital M bodies, the M8 / M9?
Thank you so much!! Yes I’m not sure if it’s IDENTICAL. But spec wise it does seem to be the same. They feel very similar in the edit though. I haven’t gotten to shoot on an m8 or 9 but I’d love to one day. Thanks for watching!
It's like spending an extra $4,000 on an X100VI for a red dot and slightly better build quality. I guess it makes sense if you have money to burn but at that point just get an M.
@@Cruz7906 no where close to the x100v. I thought so to at first, I was a Fuji user for 7 years and I loved it. I switched because the auto focus was bad and the video was mushy and I had enough. Sold all my Fuji gear (x100v, xh2s, xt5 and 8 lenses) for one q3 and man, it’s a different world. The sharpness, the manual focus, the colors, the ease of use, the macro, the full frame. It’s just a different look, and an amazing one. I love Fuji, but it doesn’t even get near the q3
New subscriber Jake, I am a Q3 owner after a Q2- I’d sold my Q2 after getting sucked in by the hype on the X100Vi, after having an X100V before selling all my Fuji gear and switching to Sony for weddings, and having the Q2 ‘for me’ I had the X100Vi on launch day in the UK, but regretted my decision immediately and a week later sold it and had the Q3, which is the happiest I’ve ever been with a camera. Sony A7iv’s for weddings, my Q3 for me and everything else, although the Q3 has started to come to weddings now too- maybe SL3 next? 😊 You have a great style of video- look forward to more. Hello from Scotland
wow did you plan to say gross after the shot of the Crocs with pins in them? LOL Nice vid can't not bust balls for socks with sandals though nor CO's contribution to fashion. Q3 is dope but really should have had a 35 lux, 4 could have 40 and 5 could have 50. That would be cooler than Crocs.
For me it's lens is just too large to be considered a compact camera. It almost doubles the size of the x100 series, it's larger then standard M mount with a number of lenses, and that would be fine if it was detachable but it's not. If I'm getting a compact camera then it should fit in a large coat pocket for travel. This camera is large enough and an irregular enough shape that it needs a dedicated camera bag, and if you're bringing a camera bag anyway why not bring an interchangeable system with multiple lenses?
Some awesome photos that I see here 😎👍🏼🫶🏽. My opinion on the Q3 is, that I don’t need it and I decided to go for the Q2 about 1 year ago. That’s all you need and nearby the same except of the display on the Q3 which I don’t like and the better video features, which I don’t need. I have to say that I also use my XPro3 a lot especially on holidays and a love to use much more my M240 for Photoshoots. Anyway the Q3 is a beautiful camera and your photos on point 👌🏼

Thank you so much! That means more than you know Chris!
i bought the Q3 last week and so far i am loving it
Wow those edits are fire❤
Great pics Jake!
Really loved that last shot through the car window. Really liked how you also explained how you thought process with that photo.
Great pics !!
Leica cameras are handmade artwork that inspire you to create art. That feeling is priceless!
It has a real price though, and one that's hard to be inspired from !

great video, man! those Mt Hood pics are incredible
Thank you so much! That means a lot
what preset do you use? love the video
Literally was debating today whether I should upgrade from the Q2, great video bro!
Im in PDX took, I shoot a sony A1 with a 40mm batis, and am debating going leica q3 or used Q2 Monochrom, what would you do?

I got my M8 in March, but love the thought of a Q, might replace it with one.

I wish they had added the joystick that's on the SL series
What are your thoughts on the Leica Q3? Very curious!

@@Cruz7906I agree with another poster, not even close! I have X100V and Q2 which I traded up to Q3. Won’t sell my X100V though.

Jawdropping pictures!

That's exactly why I sold mine. Superb camera, but definitely not compact.
Played with a Q2 for about an hour or so. Just not a fan of the focal length. I'll stick with my M11 and M Monochrom.
That’s fair! I love 28mm it’s my fav. I have a 35 lux for my m11 but I wish I had the 28 tbh!
It all depends what you shoot. I have the Q, Q2M, and SL2-S with 35 and 50mm prime lenses. For my street and family photography, the 28mm is perfect.
Best expensive camara
Answer : no (all things considered).
Real best compact camera (ALL things considered) : Sony RX100 VII.
Its cost makes me 0% interested in it unfortunately.

Auto focus!
