It's funny to learn from you obscure stuff like that there is apparently levelup trees for heroes but then seeing you not using alt to highlight interactibles so you don't get blindsided by stuff in the way or see which power ups are currently visited and manualy counting essences when you can mouseover orbs next to hero portrait or just checking numbers in the spellbook. nice content, glad to see soc gameplay
Nice thanks for the gameplay. I am a noob trying to learn, but the min maxing of every fight and move kind of discourages me to play 😢 Is this normal for these type of games?
Love your vids, do you think it is even possible to win a 4 players with deadly ai ? I managed to win the 1v1 thanks to your vids but can't seem to find the right strategy for more than 1 ai on deadly.
Hello nikayandri1992. Thanks for the comment. So far, I could not win multiple deadly AIs if the starting positions are not far enough. I did win on an 8-player Branching Trails map, by stealing high-powered artifacts from defeated enemies, eventually boosting the initiative of my Necromancers to start their turn before everything else. But on smaller maps, especially 4-player ones, I kept losing! Maybe there is a way to win that I have not figured out. Even when it is free-for-all, the AIs tend to target me because I'm weaker than the other players.
@@windfarers And do you also think it is possible to win without using magic at all ? Like in my opinion, especially with deadly ai, playing without magic is like an instant lose, i tried a strategy with Nimander and tried to stack dreaths since he has buffs on them, i could beat the first and the second wielders of the ai, but not the third no matter what i did. This strat worked on a 1v1 with a player, but can't make it work against a deadly ai :/
@@nikayandri1992 How many Dreaths did you lose in the first-second wielder fights? And what destroyed you during the third? Was it a different wielder/unit combination? Or was it that you could not make enough reinforcement? Not using magic at all, not even utility spells can be very tough. Even with mass Dreaths, Chaos step could be useful just to help you dodge and reach certain enemies. If you want to attempt it, since the AI's economy is far superior, you need to answer these questions: 1. Are are ways to keep your units alive or have minimal loss in wielder fights / siege battles? 2. If you are likely to lose many units, what are ways to get ahead economically and gain reinforcement of desired units? For example: If I can't go for a tutor strategy to support my troops with enough income and units, I have to rush and end the game right when I could defeat the first / main wielder.
@@windfarersThanks for answering. First of all, game was a really small one, like i got first fight at turn 5 or 6, i don't remember, i lost maybe a few dreaths on the first fight, with playing almost perfectly. Second i lost so many lol, then the ai (was playing against loth) came with a third wielder and finished me, it was just rats and same units than before. I think im good enough on macro since im good on these type of games, but i don't get how you can match the ai without abusing cheesing or magic. Would love to see you with a strat like stacking dreaths 😅
@@nikayandri1992 That sounds really challenging. Everyone I know would need to abuse/cheese to win, unless it's a super early game and you attack with lots of camp units. Can you let me know of the map and perhaps the enemy's starting wielder? I'm curious if I could come up with something.
The comment in the beginning about troubadours not being as good for casters as the example chelun elders makes me wonder if a hybrid martial caster could be made with an arleon character relying on the queen's guards. Because they do have the essence fighter ability, and could potentially be used for it (if their quality research adds another bit of essence, that is). They are also reasonably bulky, so there's that as well.
It's hard to find someone who plays this amazing game on max difficulty. Great work!
but it's much more harder to find some who plays PvP + AI on max difficulty with "Humans fight for hostlies"
Great to see someone playing on the highest difficulty.
Going to watch this to get some tips for improving my strategy.
Thanks! Really appreciate your guide videos too.
great playthrough , learnt a lot was good match, I was yelling at you about the range resist item hahah , you had a range fight aswell

Very cool vid. helped me learn a more effective way to play. thank you!
Thanks, love these strategy videos.
1:49:05 That combat was impecable
Good video! tks u very much, Keep trying to make more videos like this ^^
What would you have done vs Loth as Arleon? Their 50% ranged resistance stacking kind of destroys the sapper strat no?

Have you played PvP + AI on max difficulty with "Humans fight for hostlies"?
Nice!

Hi, is deadly AI resource cheat?
Yes, they also have extra movement, vision and a bunch of other things. I'm pretty sure the exact values for each difficulty is listed in the codex.
just play PvP + AI on max difficulty with "Humans fight for hostlies" ;)
