Songs of Conquest - PvP With Commentary - Shemix (Loth) VS Dwarfogus (Barya)
This is a recap and analysis of PvP game between Shemix and Pavel in the recent semi-final of the Russian trial tournament. You will see how the game goes from each player’s screen, from round 1 to the final fight, and I will discuss the possible reasons behind each strategic action a player makes.

Songs of Conquest - Arleon VS Deadly AI - Sappers & Fists of Order
Переглядів 2,7 тис.2 місяці тому
Ravenfayre clears neutrals a lot slower than Peradine, but his range bonus is surprisingly handy when using Sappers and Fists of Order to fight against a strong wielder. In this Vortex template, I pushed to middle with Ravenfayre and timed the reinforcement so that I could fight the AI with the best army: Sappers with damage boosts from Fists of Order and some Troubadours for utility spells. 0:...
Songs of Conquest - Rana VS Deadly AI - Cheluns & Shamans

The meta game plan on this newly updated Crossroad template seems to be to rush toward the middle and take control of all the expansions. This works well against the deadly AI. In this game, I made sure I could get reinforcement through spawning pool before engagement with the enemy. M'Sugna is a very powerful wielder who can go head on against the deadly AI. Together with Cheluns and Shamans, ...
Songs of Conquest - Loth VS Deadly AI - Tutor Strategy

The Vortex template allows a longer game VS the deadly AI, especially when the expansion has no path toward the middle. This makes the tutor strategy viable, enabling me way more advantage in economy, troops production, and options to use other wielders. Having correctly predicted the time by which it could reach the first middle expansion (around 13-14 turns), I planned my course so that I cou...
Songs of Conquest - What Can The AI Do Better?

ADM's Article mentioned in the video: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2903679819 The AI in this game has come a long way. Many players now think that it is quite strong. It's all thanks to the Captain Gars and the rest of the devs for their hard work! However, there are some who want the AI to get even stronger! This is why I made this video. Since harder AI difficulties only get...
Songs of Conquest - Loth VS Deadly AI - Double Necro Rush is Amazing!!

(Status - Still Viable In Current Patch) After discovering how strong double Workshop can be against the deadly AI, I attempt the same with Loth going double Aurelian Sanctum. Loth has better spell damage capability, but requires way more celestial ore. I happen to have a Celestial ore pit on this map. Also, with Strengthen Essence, Loth could combine Necro build with other units to help soak t...
Songs of Conquest - Barya VS Deadly AI - Mass Artificers

(Status - Still Viable In Current Patch) After practicing and getting some suggestions from Pavel R, I try Barya again but now with a double workshop rush on this 1v1 RMG: Quad template. On a small map like this, it is vital to have a considerable amount of Artificers before engaging in a battle against the deadly AI. If you don't have enough, you won't survive long enough for the spells to kil...
Songs of Conquest - Barya VS Deadly AI (Lost) - Destruction into Hellbreath
Переглядів 3694 місяці тому
(Status - Still Viable In Current Patch) After creeping everywhere almost solely with Everthink's starting units, I hastily tech into Heallbreath by turn 9. This is a tough map to do so since the starting town is only a large settlement and there is no Celestial Ore pit. Going Hellbreath means that I have way lesser gold to hire other units. This strategy can be powerful against weaker AIs or p...

(Status - Still Viable In Current Patch - Howrever, Peradine now starts with 1 lesser Troubador and 4 Archers. Troubadors also have lesser HP.) Arleon (Peradine) can still creep much faster than Loth (Marjatta). Peradine's 1 creation bonus allows him to cast Acid Cloud within 2 turns without getting any reinforcement. When he gets to at least level 5 with the total of 5 command points, with Tro...
Songs of Conquest - Loth (Marjatta) 1v1 Deadly AI - Arcana-Destruction Spells
Переглядів 6454 місяці тому
(Status - Still Viable In Current Patch) The AI has gotten a lot better and it is a lot of fun playing against it! There are different ways to play Marjatta. If there are enough resources available, you could rush to Aurelian Sanctum and get Necros out around round 5-7 and your second wielder could be Silverlink for longterm economy gain. If resources are scarce, you probably need Coral out ASA...
Love this. Cant wait to see some more
Thanks for the video. How does Rana might-based army work I wonder. If you have any place you can direct me I'd appreciate it. Going to watch some more of your stuff now.
The comment in the beginning about troubadours not being as good for casters as the example chelun elders makes me wonder if a hybrid martial caster could be made with an arleon character relying on the queen's guards. Because they do have the essence fighter ability, and could potentially be used for it (if their quality research adds another bit of essence, that is). They are also reasonably bulky, so there's that as well.
Great video, I learned a lot and enjoyed the calmness and clarity of the explanations ! Looking forward to more 🙂
22:44 That freaked me the fuck out. Btw, please make more of these, there isn't enough content for this game.
wow, i suck so bad at this game after watching these two. guess i got some work to do
Anymore PvP games?
Very cool vid. helped me learn a more effective way to play. thank you!
1:35:50 Essence Shield breaks when you use the unit's ability, so it breaks when placing the mines. It's better to ignore that ability, mines do laughable damage so all they do is amplify the damage you take when the enemy reaches you when you have Essence Shield.
Wow, that strategy looks super strong; even in lategame. Arcane and Creation match perfectly. And yet you got the possibility of another strong might-based army containing Storm Guards, Protectors/Crawlers/Riders. Well done! And thank you for doing english content for SoC! Its hard to find someone good at that game to learn from not speaking russian or polish. Love to them! But it's harder to follow. I am starting to like this games tactics even more than HoMM3's
Great video! Please don't stop making it.
Love your content! I wish there was more of it! I cannot find the article from Adm you are referring about at the beginning. Is it on discord?
This is the type of contente for this game that I was looking for. I don't know why UA-camr's algorithm took so long to recommend to me your videos.
where can I see the other videos from the tournament??? please stream or make videos about that
good playthrough man, i learned a lot from this
It's funny to learn from you obscure stuff like that there is apparently levelup trees for heroes but then seeing you not using alt to highlight interactibles so you don't get blindsided by stuff in the way or see which power ups are currently visited and manualy counting essences when you can mouseover orbs next to hero portrait or just checking numbers in the spellbook. nice content, glad to see soc gameplay
It's hard to find someone who plays this amazing game on max difficulty. Great work!
Hey will you do more? maybe even 2v2 or ffa? im craving SoC for month but seems too niche for good pvp yt content :(
wow best song of conquest content so far.. really need in depth analysis , and this content give it all
keep up the good work!
MORE please! Can you do the other factions as well? I'm a newbie and your videos are super helpful! I lose too much units when creeping neutrals.
Sure I'm considering adding a variety of efficient tactics.
@@windfarers Please do! Subbed!
Great work on commeting this very interesting pvp fight. Thank you!
Makes you wonder what this Marjatta could do if she didn't go tutor. 32:36 This is a guard into Shemix zone, those 4 tents he got after should've gone to Shemix instead and could've provided him with much needed money and even Oathbounds if he managed to scout and get them.
Yes I am thinking the same. Rupture would do a lot of damage after Essence shield wears off. Also, camps and pickups have so much value. You know, I start to think about balancing Quad. Should it not give too many camps in the zones between the players? If not, the wielder who could progress faster would likely win.
Hi, your content is pretty good, but I think you should add some music in the background, or maybe use game's audio and lowering the volume of it a little, even if theres no sound.
This is a good idea. I will consider it.
@@windfarers If I may make a suggestion, making your voice louder by about 40-50% would also be quite appreciated (while leaving game sounds at the same level of volume). Also, more "force" in your voice would help to keep up with the commentary. No offense, but right now you sound like a uni proffesor who has 1st double period on Monday morning and is courteously trying not to wake up the back rows.
@@mazanakaUA I could increase the volume but I won't be able to change how I speak XD
russian tournament, seriously? Unsubscribe
I respect your decision, buddy. But my channel will always remain inclusive of all nationalities.

Dear Windfarers where we could apply for this tournament? I didnt see about this though i my own organised many Heroes 3-5-6-7.5 event and tournament also last year a SOC beta tournament.
thanks for commenting on this game, it turned out really great, interesting game from both players, although it looked like Pavel was ahead, but during the main battle it was less obvious and the intrigue lasted almost to the end, good job
Thanks for the comments. Yes, it is a very close game toward the end. They played really well.
Oh this is awesome! Glad you took the time to put this together, really hope we see more in the future. I've only been playing single player so it's interesting to see what strategies the players employ... didn't realize legionnaires and artificers were so strong! That last fight was surprisingly close.
Thanks. It does take more time compared to just playing and commentating. I'll see if I can find time to do more. I also need good recordings, preferably from both sides.
@@windfarers of course. Would love overviews of builds in general. Maybe something more, analytical? This was very educational and that is what I appreciated about it
@@iTzTiMeToJuMp So like all the possible [strong] builds a faction could do?
@@windfarers yeah, I have browsed forums and youtube and havent seen anything on competitive pvp builds. Only know the builds from your full gameplay videos
@@iTzTiMeToJuMp It'd be difficult to give a list of all possible competitive builds since there are not that many competitive players and the meta is still being figured out. I could continue showing what's happening in the competitive games and perhaps one day we would be able to make some generalizations.
PvP game HERE WE GOOO!!
Love your vids, do you think it is even possible to win a 4 players with deadly ai ? I managed to win the 1v1 thanks to your vids but can't seem to find the right strategy for more than 1 ai on deadly.
Hello nikayandri1992. Thanks for the comment. So far, I could not win multiple deadly AIs if the starting positions are not far enough. I did win on an 8-player Branching Trails map, by stealing high-powered artifacts from defeated enemies, eventually boosting the initiative of my Necromancers to start their turn before everything else. But on smaller maps, especially 4-player ones, I kept losing! Maybe there is a way to win that I have not figured out. Even when it is free-for-all, the AIs tend to target me because I'm weaker than the other players.
@@windfarers And do you also think it is possible to win without using magic at all ? Like in my opinion, especially with deadly ai, playing without magic is like an instant lose, i tried a strategy with Nimander and tried to stack dreaths since he has buffs on them, i could beat the first and the second wielders of the ai, but not the third no matter what i did. This strat worked on a 1v1 with a player, but can't make it work against a deadly ai :/
@@nikayandri1992 How many Dreaths did you lose in the first-second wielder fights? And what destroyed you during the third? Was it a different wielder/unit combination? Or was it that you could not make enough reinforcement? Not using magic at all, not even utility spells can be very tough. Even with mass Dreaths, Chaos step could be useful just to help you dodge and reach certain enemies. If you want to attempt it, since the AI's economy is far superior, you need to answer these questions: 1. Are are ways to keep your units alive or have minimal loss in wielder fights / siege battles? 2. If you are likely to lose many units, what are ways to get ahead economically and gain reinforcement of desired units? For example: If I can't go for a tutor strategy to support my troops with enough income and units, I have to rush and end the game right when I could defeat the first / main wielder.
@@windfarersThanks for answering. First of all, game was a really small one, like i got first fight at turn 5 or 6, i don't remember, i lost maybe a few dreaths on the first fight, with playing almost perfectly. Second i lost so many lol, then the ai (was playing against loth) came with a third wielder and finished me, it was just rats and same units than before. I think im good enough on macro since im good on these type of games, but i don't get how you can match the ai without abusing cheesing or magic. Would love to see you with a strat like stacking dreaths 😅
@@nikayandri1992 That sounds really challenging. Everyone I know would need to abuse/cheese to win, unless it's a super early game and you attack with lots of camp units. Can you let me know of the map and perhaps the enemy's starting wielder? I'm curious if I could come up with something.
Great to see someone playing on the highest difficulty. Going to watch this to get some tips for improving my strategy.
Thanks! Really appreciate your guide videos too.
Thanks, love these strategy videos.
Nice!
Great Videos sir Just getting started with the Game Are you planning to do some updated faction Guides? With raising interest in SoC they could do really Well tbh Or capturing videos against real Players
Thanks, danmilkman6169. No plans on faction guides yet, but that's a good suggestion! I'd need to gather some thoughts before doing something like that. It's likely that I'd do commentary on PvP matches. It requires quite a different strategy compared to vs the deadly AI.
+ you are a superhuman to beat the deadly ai, i can't beat the deadly ai even taking any advantage to hours of save reset back to get the best result then it doesn't matter just getting destroyed.
On wich website/Where do you know where to get the requirements for the skills? is it required to have learning to unlock tutor, and i didn't know they were heroes/wielders were they could only get certain skills.
Hello titanittitanit5612. You can look at each wielder's page on soc.gg: ex. soc.th.gl/wielders/DoctorMarjatta Some wielders require learning to get Tutor, some do not, and some cannot get Tutor at all. Each faction comes with 3 wielder classes and each class has the same skill requirements / progression.
@@windfarers thanks that's helping a lot.
You're the Bob Ross of SoC
Thanks! Funny that someone else mentioned that a long time ago as well.
Sorry I had to re-upload to enhance the audio volume. @-activia-, I am answering your comment here. I'd want to record an FFA game against deadly AIs at some point in the future. I once played on Branching Trails, and the Tutor strategy really is a must. It was a very difficult fight where all the AIs constantly attacked me, but I received high-level artifacts from them. Later on, I could push through without losses only because I stacked items with initiative bonuses on Marjatta so even the Necros could start their turns before anything else.
Great gameplay and good understaning of the game. Any plans to record in 1080p?
Not for the moment. But maybe in the future when I could get more space!
These are nice videos. Any interest in a bigger map like ruckus or bad neighbors?
Of course. I will keep that in mind when I have time to record another video.
@@windfarers ancient valley is also very fun for big campaigns
Hello, i really enjoy your videos. great gameplay, i learned a lot.
Thanks! I'm glad it is helpful to you.
The first expansion would been able to take even after going for the chest if you had captured it from top. And you still could get in to get out on the other side and save two move points.
Thanks for sharing this. I appreciate it.
If you are allied you'd also have won if you let the AI have the beacon. Because you are on the same team it simply adds up your beacons+their beacons for the win-condition.
Congrats! I'm definitely using your videos as a guide when I get into PvP, definitely a nice way to learn how to progress properly. It's nice to see that I do most of the things you're doing already, it's mostly just the build order that I need to learn. Sidenote but I do wonder how much equipping the Greatsword on Coral and the Bascinet on Magnolia would've changed the outcome of the first fight with Silkspool, since they'd be a noticeable increase to your offense and defense
Thanks! Happy to share and to find ways to play better together. In my experience, more Necromancers per stack definitely make me stronger in PvP. And great catch on me forgetting to transfer both equipment! As for the effect of stat increase, I think it is neligible but who knows, it might save life of 1 unit or 2. We have done some tests, looking at the game's codes and shared on the game's discord channel. If you want to take a look, search for "Damage Calculation" and look for my posts in the ''questions' section.
Hello! I need to take a break for today, I'll finish watching tomorrow. For R11 you should have dedicated at least one full stack to do damage to the Brutes, you could split it up after you deal with neutrals for a possible fight with a wielder. And there was a fight with Baryan troops with 14 Dreaths and you said something like "i don't need to use fireball this fight", while it does save essence, on lvl 2 and 3 fireball does a lot more damage than icebolt, so you could kill the Dreaths and prevent some losses. Other than that you are playing perfectly on a macro level with resource gathering, and Workshop on turn 2 is phenomenal! Bighli got Glimmergloves from the central area it seems, so he is quite a tough opponent for this strategy, I'll check out how the fight ended tomorrow!
Thanks for the thoughtful tips!
Everthink start is my favorite in the game, I beat the Deadly AI yesterday with it, rushing to get Artificers and an upgrade from the Foundry for them, to get +2 Destruction and +2 Chaos. And Artificers are pretty tanky and able to fight normally if needed, with the initiative better then Chelun/Necromancers
Thanks for sharing! Would you always go pure Artificers or would you sometimes use Steam Pipers instead? Or maybe combine them? And why would you do so?
@@windfarers Only Artificers, upgraded Piper's Post is pretty expensive and eats up the same resources needed to upgrade the Workshop. Steam Pipers are also very squishy, and they generate Order instead of Chaos, and Everthink can't get Order Magic before 10 (without Learning, which is a waste of a skill in a 1v1), so it's a bit of a waste of space in my opinion. I'd rather have a Shop to buy more Artificers or make an upgrade for them in the Foundry, than build a Piper's Post. It would be alright on larger maps, when you can add some stronger frontliners into your army, because Fortalice needs Piper's Post, but in a quick 1v1 you will not get much from this
Great playthrough, I enjoyed the chill commentary. For the first Aleah fight I think it would be better to fight her after she converts the town, so that the musketeers would not have enough range to oneshot your stacks
Thanks! That is an interesting thought. I was afraid that she would just stay inside the town and it would have been worse... but perhaps she might fight me thinking that I had lesser units. I guess I'll need to get to know the AI more!
@@windfarers Yes, AI does mostly look at Gold Value of your army, so it would definitely attack you in the open field. That's not a human player to turtle up in the town, knowing they have much more income and unit growth you can do nothing against :)
@@windfarers By the way, do you ever reload the quicksaves to play things differently? Or you don't out of principle for the videos?
31:23 Magic Immunity is an ability. Like Aim. They have to keep using it to end their turn if they want to stay immune to spells.
Together With Her! Also, nice showing off of supporter pack, i was just mulling over if i should buy one myself.
Yeah I think pink and black look really good.
