I enjoyed the video, it was good to see someone doing the Gold leaf in a commercial setting because I was researching this for my business. I did a search Lacquer in Spanish is Laca, Shellac is Goma Laca, So the last step is probably Lacquer. Muchas Gracias
Thank you very much for your detailed and very helpful presentation. I did some gold-leafing work last year and I never could understand what I did wrong until I watched your video tonight. Now I know so much more and, hopefully, can produce better work. I'm sure anyone who has tried gold-leafing can easily comprehend this video. Again, thank you very much and God bless you.
Excellent how-to video! It's always great to watch highly-skilled and knowledgeable artisans doing their jobs with such dexterity and skill. I definitely feel like I could give this a shot myself now. Thanks!!
I just wanted to add that I also love your passion for art in every sense. Your are so knowledgeable and pleasant to listen to! Your knowledge has not lead you to be arrogant; on the contrary you teach with extreme humility! What amazing qualities to accompany your incredible artistic ability! Thank you again, Thank You, Thank You
I love their technique of making wind blow for each piece to pick it up. I would have never thought of that and would probably waste tons of it trying to pick it up with my hands.
with my products you can do any kind of finish walmart to the best quality in the world, it all depends who applies its, you can use any type of stain or prodcuts to finish your best liking
What do you call a person that speaks three languages: trilingual. How about a person that speaks two languages: bilingual. Now what do you call a person that only speaks one language? American
On the last step, you say "you need to protect the piece with ...lake??" do you mean some kind of lacquer? and if that is so, what kind of lacquer do you recommend and where can I get it?
I did not understand what he was saying either..it sounded like "lake"..maybe he meant lacquer..what kind..I think we need another tutorial to find out the final step..just (LOL) Google "What is the final application in gold leafing"? HEE!
Oh my gosh! She's SO good at her job, and makes it took so easy. It's definitely not easy. Is there even enough product in that tiny kit for a frame that size? Oh yeah.. btw.. the last and MOST important Step is #8...umm.. It's not included, so, umm nevermind.... you're on your own. 🤣🤣🤣
Hector, I am so sorry but I did not understand the last word in the video. I heard the word as "lake". That wouldn't be correct. What is it that needs to be applied as the last step. Very informative video. Thank you very much.
Man Falls. more like powder coating you need. electrical would be better. but the gun would not feel the same after. nice but not the same. if you wanna gold gun, get a gold gun. it's gonna feels like a gold gun
What is the last step? Protect it with "lake"? Please tell me what the last step is......it's called LAKE? Is that correct? Where do I get it? Thank you
Lacquer usually comes in quarts and larger sizes. He is selling the kits by mail. If he added the lacquer, it would raise the shipping price significantly due to the weight of the can. People would not pay the higher price. Lacquer is easily available in every country, so one would buy it locally instead of paying a lot extra to include it in the kit.
I did not comprehend all of his words yet understood most of what he said EXCEPT for the final 'step' or 'application'..it sounded like he said we need to apply (sounds like..) "Lake"..maybe Lacquer of some kind..this is not included in the kit so it leaves us a bit clueless. No..I think I will look for a class in my area and actually watch a PRO show me how to do this..I would like to do a gold leaf framed mirror..or silver..they have many different metallics out there! So exciting! (In the long run you will be professionally taught how to use the leaf and therefore will probably save a lot of money..for if you make any mistakes with this kit you will lose your money)..not worth it..go learn it from someone who knows! Gold leaf should never be a DIY project...(until someone has taught you...at least).it is just too expensive..this is an FYI for those of you who are thinking of DIY! (Down the line..YES on the DIY..in the beginning go to a professional to learn this beautiful ART!)
I think you mixed up imitation gold leaf with real gold leaf. Imitation gold leaf is very very cheap. It's the one used in the video. If you are using real gold leaf by way of water gilding then you might want to burnish it, but you do not want to put lacquer or the like on top.
Tuan Tuananh. fuck you, you need. what the fuck did you say? I get did not. just buy gold you need and maybe Google Michael's in your aria you need. and fuck you again maybe you need.
This is not gold leaf! This is metal leaf. In other words is what in the business we call fake gold leaf. This stuff is alot more heavy, difficult to break and, above all, really really cheap! Thats why she's gilding with her hands and in that "easy and fast" way. This is NOT, how to apply gold leaf. Furthermore all that, this shit oxydise with time, even with varnish. This is bullshit.
He said, quite distinctly IMITATION gold leaf. If you people actually listened instead of taking the piss out of his accent it would help you understand.
I couldn't agree with you more Tree Man. The title is a lie and you have to watch the video to realize that this is actually not gold but fake gold . He is the last person i would use the service of for gilding , he lied in the title and god know where else . I'll pay more and use someone who uses real gold and actually knows how to apply the leaves because THIS is most certainly not the way it is properly done .
Great tutorial, in steps and not one unnecessary word. Clear and concise! Thank You!
I enjoyed the video, it was good to see someone doing the Gold leaf in a commercial setting because I was researching this for my business. I did a search Lacquer in Spanish is Laca, Shellac is Goma Laca, So the last step is probably Lacquer.

I was looking for tips on how to use the gold leaf and thank you very much for posting this.
Excellent how-to video! It's always great to watch highly-skilled and knowledgeable artisans doing their jobs with such dexterity and skill. I definitely feel like I could give this a shot myself now.
Thanks!!
Great video! You made me less scared of trying my own hand at gold leafing. Thanks a bunch! Please ignore the haters.
Well I thought it was very helpful . He actually explained better than any tutorial I came across
That’s really good.
This guy is really simple to understand this craft.
Very formal presentation. Quite a lengthy process and the results are wonderful! thank you
Great tutorial, thanks Hector and thanks to the lady artist applying the leaf so expertly. How she would laugh if she could see my clumsy efforts 😄.
I just wanted to add that I also love your passion for art in every sense. Your are so knowledgeable and pleasant to listen to! Your knowledge has not lead you to be arrogant; on the contrary you teach with extreme humility! What amazing qualities to accompany your incredible artistic ability! Thank you for showing your techniques.
Love Real Gold Leaf on Frame work.
Love this, "Gracias". Always wondered how this was done. Looking forward buying your products. Love secure people who share techniques with others...

Best video EVER! Love the technique. Thank you.
Thank you! This was very helpful! Good explained! 👍❤😊
What is this guy? A magician? He is doing the talk, while his assistant works ...
Wow looks awesome better than most on other videos.
Gracias Héctor....bastante muy claro el proceso.
Thank you, Hector. Very informative.

A straightforward video on the frame gilding process.
Instro is very interesting ❤
Amazing technique. Thank you
Thank you. Great video. God bless.
Very good...informative. Please explain what is “lake” for the finish.
@David Barnett somebody else in this comment section said something about laka being the Spanish word for lacquer
with my products you can do any kind of finish walmart to the best quality in the world, it all depends who applies its, you can use any type of stain or prodcuts to finish your best liking
How beautiful!
My left ear enjoyed this video
Very informative video. Thanks
I am not sure how to protect with "LAKE". Which lake, how big a lake? Hooked on phonics, it worked for me!
Very lovely!!!
Wow, I bet majority of people making fun of the guy are monolingual. Already by speaking more than one language he is more talented than you.
+Stephie . I tell ya, the level of arrogance drives me batty . He's a lovely bloke and he knows his stuff.
stfu stephanie... did you just assume my gender
What do you call a person that speaks three languages: trilingual. How about a person that speaks two languages: bilingual. Now what do you call a person that only speaks one language? American
Sure lots of people are being mean, but lots are also just poking fun. If you can't handle light banter, you don't belong in this world.
how long do you "wipe" the excess gold, immediately or wait until the glue dried up?
Fantastic - It would be helpful to know how long to leave the glue on before applying gold leaf.
Other sites say at least 25 minutes,
Great video.
vry nice job.....
beautiful!
Thank you so much you helped me alot !!!
On the last step, you say "you need to protect the piece with ...lake??" do you mean some kind of lacquer? and if that is so, what kind of lacquer do you recommend and where can I get it?

With great respect, It is not "Sanding with Steel wood" But "Keying with Steel WOOL". Have a good day!
Ahh right.. I thought it was steel brush with the wood handle ;)
AHHH YOU GOT IT ...THEN STFU.
Wool wool wool! Steel wool!
AH YOU GOT IT, THEN STFU
@@sunshinepatsoph4219 what?

Hector,

Very informative video. Thank you very much.
creo que dijo lacquer,,,
That is also what I heard. I wish he had shown that step, even if it wasn't in the kit, it made the video incomplete, and leaves us wondering. :(
I think Lacquer also. like cvas2 said.
clear coated/lacquer
good information thank you
why does this make me laugh so hard? :)
whats funny about the video? is it wrong technique?
+Kobi Asante - No, that he is a dumb foreigner and speaks funny
Fucknuts because you can hide your face and name allows you to be an ass.
bournemouthlass if you say so, internet warrior.

Can I seal with water base polyurethane?
If you are going to apply lacquer, do you really want to apply wax first? Won't the wax keep the lacquer from sticking?
Exact's what I thought.
I understand all of your steps, but why do we need to use sealer. What will happen if we skip the sealer step.
sorry sir, what is the name of the adhesive for the gold paper. Warm greetings from Indonesia 🙂🇮🇩
I'm curious to know if you can do this method with real gold leaf
Can you do this on a metal frame
Can I use beeswax?
where does one buy "steel wood" ;)
Thanks a lot
🤝👏👏👏👏
for indoor lacquer and outside with barniz
Wooow ...
can you put gold or silver leaf on say, a gun?
oil gilding or electroplate gold on seperate components which is appropriate...
Man Falls. more like powder coating you need. electrical would be better. but the gun would not feel the same after. nice but not the same. if you wanna gold gun, get a gold gun. it's gonna feels like a gold gun
He'll no !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was waiting to see some steel wood.
+Jeffrey Baker Steel wood lmao so funny
What is this glue name ?
What is the last step? Protect it with "lake"? Please tell me what the last step is......it's called LAKE? Is that correct? Where do I get it? Thank you
What was the last step? I didn't get it? He didn't show it.
bonita canción ANANAU DE ALBORADA PERÚ
Why not included with this kit........? All that work and not have a seal... !
I was wondering, does it work well to put lacquer over a wax layer?
Could I use a real pure gold paper thin instead of the fake stuff?
Practice on the fake gold 1st. $

fuck Di Ch ,hard to hear you say so
What's the last step???
musik of ANANAU mmmmm beautiful
HI' where can i buy
I love sanding with steel wood.
I have a feeling she has done this before.
Well I appreciate the skill of the lady, bet she could do that in her sleep, shame the robot passed her the wrong wax ...
This isn’t gold leaf. It looks like Dutch Metal, which is a gold coloured foil, and a cheap means of producing a gold looking finish.
Polich
"Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show any stinkin" badges!!!"
Brother
where is sound>???? :D
Finally, cover it with what???
is this a tim and eric skit?
Dude! What is "lake".
Too bad i can't hear a word he's saying- the music and sounds were good, but his microphone seems defective
Not secret in jepara INDONESIA...
Looks easy but it's actually fucking hard
so, you can't finish the process? 😂
This is not gold leaf! This is metal leaf. In other words is what in the business we call fake gold leaf. This stuff is alot more heavy, difficult to break and, above all, really really cheap! Yeah he kinda states that over and over again right in the beginning of the video. Did you not pick up on that? It is most likely brass leaf.
He said, quite distinctly IMITATION gold leaf. If you people actually listened instead of taking the piss out of his accent it would help you understand.
I couldn't agree with you more Tree Man. The title is a lie and you have to watch the video to realize that this is actually not gold but fake gold . Tree, man
Yes - he said that!
they didnt need the microphone!!
that is not gilding...they are using shlag metal...chalk from cheese...
Enough with the airbrush
most people don't have that
But you can buy the glue in a spray can. Mona Lisa brand works well.
this NOT goldleaf but Mettalleaf aka messing
