I love that I can now get shallow depth of field on my phone. That was the one area that has held me back from using a phone as a main camera. I've heard a few people complain that although the new cinematic mode is good it still gets edges sometimes wrong. I don't think they realise that this is only the beginning and it's going to make filmmaking so much easier, especially for run and gun. DOF is great but if you've ever tried rack focusing with a super shallow DOF. while also directing people, checking sound and making sure your composition is correct then you'll know that being able to let the tech work the focus out is game changing. I'd much rather sacrifice a bit of quality for the ability to focus in post, plus the portability you get with using your phone. I'm always amused when people pick up on very slight issues like grain or fringing in an image. If your audience is noticing these issues it must mean the story you're telling is very boring indeed. I get that a cinematographer, shooting a big budget film, isn't going to being using an Iphone. But for ninety percent of content makers the new Iphone is ideal, after all most people will be watching on their phones or laptops so any small issues in the image will be all but invisible. And this tech is just going to get better and better. I can't wait until the point where I can also extract animated lidar data from each shot and create a 3D environment matching tmy camera moves exactly allowing me to do away with 3D tracking software. I can then add 3D characters to my films knowing that they'll sit in the world exactly. Very exciting times for indy film makers.
I love how most of Apple peeps use AirPods Pros as their mics and earpieces for audio. I'm excited for the next series and hope that they give some love with the Max's as well.
In the TV world AirPods now serve as IFBs -- I still use a mic this is just to hear the people I'm interviewing who are on the same call. But yes, if you watch CNN or MSNBC you'll see most folks being interviewed remotely use AirPods.
Is the 13 pro and pro max the first i phone camera with cinematic len? In I phone i want good photos, day and night. 11,12,13 pro and pro max while there are suttle differences to the trained eye, I wonder if i stick with any of the pro to pro max are they in general better camera’s in the 11,12 and 13?
@@gevinduxrs2 Yeah, I mean for a first gen iteration, it's decent if you're shooting in optimal conditions with not a lot of erratic movements. I'll wait to upgrade when cinematic mode has less of that glow artifact around edges, less edge detection errors when they incorporate the lidar sensor, and when they can do it in either 4K30 or 4K60.
@@chinitopinoy1726 yeah for me, the only matter is blurry issue around the edge + I wish there were 60 & 24 fps option for 1080 as for better slow-mo & for real cinematic experience.
What cinematic mode ? Hype of nothing... Look what sony xperia 1 III has ,for video and other things , it is a real pro mobile. Iphone is just a hype a selling brand , like Prada in fashion industry
the main problem here for Apple is that they choose to adopt cheaper hardware rather than pushing the envelope like before. Hardware is seriously underwhelming. its sad.
For some reason I thought the male guy was cool and chil but I always HATE kaiann I get the vibe she acts superior and thinks Apple is superior in every interview and presentation pissesthe fk outta me

Love, Michael Josh!
Why this channel has less views and subscribers? This is one of the top 3 best tech channels after unbox therapy and MKBHD.
This is the content we need! 🤲🏼 I love Kaiann!
It was an honor being able to interview her.
@@gadgetmatch No doubt! These folks have very high demand for it. Thanks for doing this you the man.

@@gadgetmatch I see your point. It’s just for the quality of the audio as well but yea, AirPods are indeed the way to go for simpler earpieces.
this video deserves more and more viewers
Dang this is huge! Great channel, glad you’re getting great guests
You really deserve 1M subs

If cinematic mode can record 4k
man...that will be 🔥
CInematic mode will probably be a beast in 3-5 years time.

Hi Kaiaan I’m glad that you not wearing ridiculous clothes during the iPhone 13 presentation. 🙂
But they still can’t get rid of lens flares??
Why her airpod pros sticking out like that lol
The only fruit this guy eats is 🍎
Camera upgrades are arguably the least significant reason to upgrade your phone.

There are nuances that Apple nails with Cinematic Mode.
