I'm very thankful that the state I live in doesn't tax silver bullion.

I got a bunch of silver bars, various sizes but mostly 1kg.
The largest bar I own is a 5kg umicore. It's a monster.

In some countries, there is NO VAT / GST etc. levied on buying or selling or investing in such Silver Bullion Bars and also apply to Gold Bullion. There should be a new U.K. legislature to cancel VAT on such investments on Precious Metals.
I wish we had no VAT on Silver here in the UK!
I have been buying silver bars FI as you know and I've made some nice purchases in the last few months, I picked up two 20 gram gold bars as part payment of a boating job I did, the same client gave me some larger silver bars including a 500gr and a 1kilo gr bar from the royal mint.

Good video. I agree about the Capital gains tax though. Most of my stack will probably consist of 1oz brits going forward.

Those big Britannia coins do carry huge premiums!!
Idk where u are, but when I shop I get coins,bars and rounds for less per, the more I buy. Valcambi stuff seemes to have a big upcharge in general in the states so I've avoided it for this reason and used rounds instead. Regardless still a beautiful bar and I wish I had one!
Very true. You tend to always get a cheaper price the more you buy.
Would you consider a 500g bar? That could be a better balance with the CGT and money saved over buying many coins.

The dealers I have talked to ALL say they prefer kilo bars over any other form.
Maybe they make the most profit on them? Good food for thought as to why the prefer them..
Just out of curiosity, how do they tax a cash transaction peer to peer? Or are you only buying from shops?
They can’t if it’s cash to cash and private.

I know! Very annoying when you spend that level of money to be fair. The Royal Mints QC of there milkspotting is poor.
Risk ratio sounds so funny basically you buy it and lose 238 pounds.. way better dealers in Europa that buy back for far better rates. Try Europa Bullion buy buy 1 kilo 823 Euro buyback 747 Euro..
Don’t know if it’s a problem for those living in the UK though.
I know most if not everyone would not sell back instantly but it’s interesting to know for sure.
