Sometimes I see deals where a tube of 20 Philharmonics is like one or two bucks more than a tube of 20 generic rounds. I will always spend the extra buck for coins. Lately I have been buying NADIR 10 ozt .9999 bars in sets of 2 for between $259-263 per bar and they come sealed with a COA, so I been on the cheap lately but they have so much going for them for so much less money than coins. Just got my last set today and it ran me $525 for 20 ounces making 12 bars in the last 6 weeks. Buy like this is your last chance as it may be. When someone finally figures out that if you keep printing kabillions of dollars every week you have opened the door to unavoidable financial disaster then the people will realise that BBB&M (Bullion, Bullets, Beans & M16s) was not a silly poem but a prophetic word to the common man who had an ear to hear and a lick of sense.

When I started out 40+ years ago, I only bought bars. Engelhard and Johnson Matthey. Today, the premiums on those bars exceeds silver eagles. They are considered collectable bullion, strange as it sounds. The value of my stack has increased dramatically with time, mainly due to rising premiums that I can reap upon resale. Bars have their place in any stack, if you can get them at the right price. Diversity is key.
My silver is around 2800 oz been stacking for 30 years plus I got my grandfather's stack and father's stack when they passed away and ill never sell ill pass it down like you to my twin sons
Impressive! I just started stacking a year ago. 10oz is my biggest bar. Been focusing on Eagles, 1 ounce bars, and constitutional silver. I love hearing from people who have been doing this for a long time and the impressive collections. I hope to get there one day. My main focus is the ability to give it all to my children later in life.
“Headed for another financial crisis” is one way of putting it. The way I see it, we’ve long since stepped off the edge of the cliff, at this point we’re just waiting until we hit the ground.
@@thesilverreich3947 true. But industries care about silver and platinum which will always have value as they are used in a lot of different products that most people benefit from . they are in a lot of consumer products that benefit a lot of peoples lives . A long time ago when I was 20 years old and working at a gas station a fellow came in to buy a pack of cigarettes with a handful of change. He pleaded with me to accept the silver dollars he had at face value. There was no argument from me!! I exchanged the silver dollars with money from my own pocket and like that my 'stack' started!

I want to hodle. No flipping. No selling. Premiums are ridiculous, you really can't short term trade silver because you are down 20% when you purchase. This is your insurance policy against potential rampant inflation, so buy it, save it, forget about it.

Keep it up. Wish I started at your age. Didn't even know you could buy this stuff. But then again the internet was a baby. I'm 34 and just started stacking 3 months ago. I'm at 47 ounces. Good diversified stack. Half coins and rounds and half bars.
I got to show a friend of mine (lady friend) a gold coin (buffalo head) and she was awe struck. Then I showed her some silver coins and bars, she said “I now understand why you buy these. I thought you where just a little weird, now I want to learn to do this”. I was happy to hear that.
Showed a couple of friends 2021 Kangaroo, I'm 99.9% 1 of them wants to stack after holding it. Everyone was asking questions it was a great moment. I hope I planted the stacking seed. 😁
I own a 1 kilogram silver round from the Mexican Mint, a Libertad backed by Banco de México. You are so right about the “allure” to it, when I hold the thing it’s almost funny how heavy it is. I will be keeping her forever, keep stacking!
I have never experienced a liquidity issue with generic silver. In fact, before this year when you could find deals on generic silver and pay 79 cents over spot for it and sell at spot, it was a better buy/sell spread then you could expect with the gov't minted stuff.
Love your comment. I've been stacking more generic rounds/bars and this video made me start 2nd guessing my strategy. Think I'll buy a few more rounds of some Sunshine Mint! LOL
If silver goes to $100 an ounce you won't even care that you getting 'spot' for your ingots. The only thing I'm interested in is 10oz bars nowadays. So happy to see silver tanking today... please go down to like $16 so I can double my stack for the $$. I can wait awhile for $100 Silver, I'm in no rush!
When I first started buying silver ozs you could get a Silver Town lot of 20 1 ozt bars for $100. In a plastic sleeve at my local coin shop. Got my first 10 ozt Apmex bar for $50. delivered to my mailbox. I think that was somewhere between 1986 and 1988
@@YankeeStacking just recently turned 20 and got into stacking at the end of 19 my first purchase was a 100oz RCM bar for the sole purpose of upping the weight at the base of my stack and also I see it being able to buy a house and some land once SHTF.

This is basically my game plan. Bars to trade for gold/land/large amounts of cash when needed. Constitutional silver for SHTF/barter. Gold for retirement/passing on to my kids.
He isn’t wrong, It was a analogy. Obviously something round isn’t a bar but he means they are treated the same way. They are both non government coins. Their just bullion, a piece of silver or gold with something stamped on it from whoever minted it.
Have just begun my metals' journey, a few months back. In New Zealand, we are quite limited in coin's availibility: Mainly Britannias, Maples, & some Aussie coins. I am also buying 10oz, 5oz bars (from a local merchant), as you stated, to sell & upgrade to gold, if the price increases enough. May not work, but at the end of the day, will be better than leaving it in the bank.
I'm in Auckland . been stacking for about 5yrs ... we are limited in coins , especially rounds . NZ pure refinery is about 5 minutes from me .. we need more generic one ounce/bars rounds to buy .. don't understand why a NZ refinery doesn't make any .
I’ve got super varied thoughts about this. I totally understand the advantages of having sovereign backed silver, which is easily recognized and holds a little bit of the premium value, but the fact that buying bars have way lower premiums and we get more weight for less money makes it really appealing to me as well. I don’t plan on selling my stack anytime soon either, so I just stack both.
Just goes to show that people have a difficult time separating their thought from the the approval/legitimacy of government. We should be past this, especially considering the advances in technology that can prove that "silver is silver", but here we are, witnessing a silver stacker explain that he'd rather stack silver pieces that have been "government approved".
@@liquidreality472 You're absolutely right about that though. Silver is Silver. But yes, like you said, i have a difficult time separating my thoughts about why all the bullion shops buy my generic silver at spot or even below spot sometimes, but offer me atleast a bit of the premiums back on the sovereign coins? I had a 10 ounce bar of 9999 fine generic and a 10 ounce sovereign 999. I got more for the sovereign bar. Why is that?
@@chitranthirupathy6678 indoctrination maybe, and catering to the lowest common denominator as far as the way people think. That was the whole point of my comment, common thought goes that since the sovereigns were produced by government, they are more trust-worthy than" generics" and thus people are willing to pay more. There may also be the recognizably, but personally i think both of these reasons have their roots in ignorance. The shops buy at a price they are able to profit from. You can't necessarily blame them if people are willing to pay more for something produced by a government.
About 40% of all dollars in existence were printed / created in 2020. I’m smart and educated, but never been really interested in PM’s, economics, etc. It is immediately and painfully obvious to me that there is no way this ends with anything other than a total, complete, thermo-nuclear financial disaster. Just no way. You can’t almost double the money supply in one year and NOT create real and serious consequences.
@@drjones762 I was never interested in PM either. I knew there was an end game, but figured it would happen sometime in the next ten to twenty years with the way the debt was going. 2020 really changed me. I can now see it as imminent. When? I don't know but anytime would not surprise me. I never thought too much of the media either but felt they at least tried to appear neutral, not anymore. On the plus side, they wildly telegraph their moves if you pay attention.
Thanks for the quality information! I have recently caught the stacking bug , and appreciate videos such as this , to help me on my way. To me , it's a great feeling to have something tangible rather than numbers in a bank. Awesome video!
Look at U.S. DEBT CLOCK, that ten ounce bar/bullion/coins is a FAR cheaper investment than 1 oz. of Gold and WILL be worth FAR MORE. There is FAR more GOLD than you ALL know! Don’t be surprised that Gold and Silver flip-flop or go 1-1🤔. Keep this in mind, Silver is EXTRACTED from Gold🤔. I hope you ALL knew that.
I stack about 50/50 coins to bars ... 5/10/half's/kilos .. more 5/10s than bigger . And fractional gold too .. just starting bigger gold now .. stack and forget is my motto .
I buy bars specifically for playing the ratio. Big bars are only in my stack to trade for gold coins when the ratio shrinks. The premiums over spot are low, and you won't really get that premium back during a silver/gold swap, even with gov minted coins
I have invested in 100 oz bars. As long as you get them from a well known mint, with all the pertinent info stamped on it, in my experience, they are just as liquid as rounds, as long as you go to a coin/silver/gold shop. The premium is generally less than smaller denominations, too. They might be harder to pass on the street, but then I have never tried to do that with either style.
I just got started stacking silver. I cashed out my 401K and bought several 100 ounce bars. I only bought the big bars. I took them down to my local guy, he offered to buy them all from me $2 over spot. I told him no, and then I bought 2 kilo bars from him. I 100% believe that Silver is going to the moon after the RV. Plus, these bars are most definitely going to go into manufacturing products. I'm not concerned about reselling them, or paying out high premiums when I buy. That is why I chose buying big bars.
That’s how it begins for most of us. I’ll tell you what happens next. After acquiring a few hundred ounces, you will really start feeling a bit uneasy every time you leave the house. When that happens, you will go out and buy a burglar and fire rated safe just so nobody runs off with it, and, it won’t melt into a metal blob if you happen to have a fire. I can see your future. Yes, I can. And, don’t tell a soul what you are doing. Trust me on this one. All kinds of cockroaches you thought were friends will come out of hiding and reveal themselves to you their real character.
Your insight is extremely helpful. As a new stacker it's so good to get different opinions from seasoned stackers. Thanks for taking the time to help the noobs.
The term dollar is based on that exact weight of silver. Most people go around saying the word dollar and having no concept of what that word really means.
The word Dollar is the Anglicized word for Thaler aka from a Joachimsthaler that a Bohemian (?) Prince (?) named Joachim (pronounced Yokum) first minted in like the 1500s or something like that. The word existed before the constitution, but it was defined in US Law as a weight of silver AND gold.
I almost bought a kilo of silver a few weeks ago. I went with the silver eagles instead. I went back the following week and bought the 10 oz Scottsdale lion bar. I have a few 5oz bars but just the feel of the 10oz bar is amazing. I think I may end up with a kilo bar soon. It takes me back I believe to the old treasure hunt and pirate movies. That feeling when you were a kid and they popped open the treasure chest. A little silly but a good feeling nonetheless. 😁
Got my 1st 100oz bar 2 weeks ago ,great for doing light curls, got 10 10oz bars last week in addition to 935 oz of eagles which ive been stack'n for awhile.Just waiting for the QFS reset. They are all cool. but I don't have any sexual attraction to any of them. Is that wrong? Cheers.
Just got my first two 100oz bars today. Definitely good for light curls 😂. Which is useful Bc I’m rehabbing a shoulder surgery rn 😆. Another great Appeal for them is the industrial value should we run out of 1000 oz bars. It’s like an anti-shtf PERK. Premiums are much closer to gold in bar form.
Me and my wife started budgeting better and we now have an investment budget(really small ATM) of about $20-$30 a week. Thank you for this video, Ive been wanting to invest in silver and gold and wasn't sure where to start. I was thinking the bars would be better as like a long term investment. Like your retirement or something. Because 50 60 years from now it won't matter if they underspot you because the appreciation at that point would make up for it. I like your point about liquidity. For now you convinced me to get these govt coins. Especially since they are right around my current budget anyways.
Hi Yankee, I added two 100 oz bars to my stack several years ago. To hold one in each hand is most invigorating indeed. I have no regrets in the purchase nor will I purchase anymore. I enjoy your videos greatly! BYE
I have an affinity for silver bars in my stack and none are over 10oz. I also stick with government bars ; and well known types like Asahi ,Engelhardt, JM Matthey.
I’m new to stacking. My grandmother left me many silver Deutsch marks and some constitutional silver years ago. I loved when you said you’re going to make them permanent I feel the same. By far the most interesting video I’ve seen and I’ve been watching a lot. Phenomenal. Subbed. While I completely agree that minted gov coins are the way to go there’s a collector part of me that finds the bars cool. Not the one you have in your hand or on the table but the bars that come from reputable places. I just got a 10oz East India Co. bar, beautiful and unique design. Not something you’ll see too often I’d imagine. The Perth Mint, Royal British Mint, Royal Canadian Mint, PAMP Susie, Credit Suise, Valcambi I mean…. Those aren’t just any old Joe Schmo mints… these bars are down right gorgeous and unique.
Check out the Silver shield collection of 10 oz bars at Golden State Mint ;) BEAUTIFUL! And with messages we all can agree with. Around $32 and oz right now which is about average and way cooler!
I used to be able to get the 10oz bars for .50 over spot at a local monthly coin show. I would grab a couple everytime I went. If it's from a reputable outfit and clearly marked, they are as liquid as anything else.
@@stilmesamejamese1 I love Chris Duane's work. I've got a tube of the old warbirds that are pretty much my favorite 1oz pieces. It's insane how much of a premium they carry now.
I have been watching and waiting...and yesterday finally pulled the plug. I purchased 1 10 Oz bar and 5 1 Oz bars. I had same thought process, smaller pieces could be sold back much easier . So excited.
I have one of those same exact kilo bars, but I mostly prefer stacking rounds personally. And I don't like parting with any of it. I love pulling them out and looking at them. Sometimes I feel like Gollum.
@@John-lc2lz Yep, I watched a UA-cam where someone took an acetylene torch to a 1000 oz bar with a bucket of water under it and created shot. If you can take delivery on a 1000 oz Comex .999 bar, that would be the way to go.
For industrial demands, I think bars are more desired, and away from that, if you got this feeling by holding a kilo silver bar, I would say multiply this feeling by 1000 when you hold a gold kilo bar.
I have over 100lbs of silver that I've melted down into bars & I have 1,200 government silver mint set coin sets in different years(1936-2021)that I've have bought & collected since October of 2019 & I'm still buying/stacking atleast 1-100 government silver mint sets(an ounce to a kilo) of silver a week without those hefty premium prices... I was smart and starting buying these coins through auctions and my local coin dealers... Yes, I don't buy silver eagles, bars of silver because of the high premiums from dealers... Why make them rich when you can buy actual government 90% silver coins that aren't fake & come straight from the government without paying any premiums because the sellers sell the coins as a collection, not as silver.. The reason I've done this is because I can sell my silver coins multiple ways(by coin rarity, coin value, amount of silver in coin, coin collection). Either way, i can sell my coins for more than a silver price on certain coins as a collection or just sell them just for the silver content easier because the fiat face value currency of the coins is stamped on the coin that everybody recognizes as a demonization of the coin. BUT, I ONLY BUY MY COINS THAT ARE GOVERNMENT SEALED AND HAVE NEVER BEEN OPENED TO MAXIMIZE THE VALUE OF THE COIN!!!!!!!! I've seen people that have bought 50yrs of silver eagles and they couldn't sell them for what they paid for them because of spotting /milk stains ect that are on the silver eagles that can occur naturally or from moisture and they've lost money..... So I'm not a silver eagle fan to stack but I will buy the rare silver eagles... There's too many fake silver eagles/bars on the current market these days and that's why I don't buy bars or silver eagles. That's what I've done as a collection of silver. And I've bought over 50,000 wheat pennies also... FOR FUTURE ADVICE....... If you buy bars or silver eagles, you have to pay a government tax when you try selling them, and the government knows exactly what you have and they can keeps track of your silver content... I personally don't like that so that's why I only buy coins.... It's untraceable because you don't have to buy from dealers or from the government agencies... Back in the 1930's the government made it illegal to hold any gold/silver personally in your possession & they put Americans in prison for keeping their own property so that's why I only buy in this form because its currency, not just silver or gold and the government can't tell me to sell my coins by any means due to any crisis going on... I also don't keep cash(fiat currency) in any bank because there's an old loophole that allows the banks to keep your money if they go bankrupt and the banks can keep your money because they're protected by the government.... If you think that this don't happen then do your own research... 1000's of Americans thought this before and they were left broke in the 1930's!!!! YES THIS IS A GOVERNMENT LAW THAT WAS PAST YEARS AGO TO PROTECT THE BANKS THAT CURRENTLY EXISTS TODAY UNFORTUNATELY 😳 WHAT IS YOUR THOUGHT ABOUT THIS YANKEE?????? I'M NOT A PROFESSIONAL DEALER. I'M JUST AN AVERAGE JOE TRYING TO LEAVE SOMETHING FOR MY CHILDREN JUST INCASE SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME THAT THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT WITH.. RETIRE, BUY A HOUSE,CAR ECT OR JUST KEEP STACKING FOR THEIR CHILDREN....

Great timing, Yankee! I just received my first 10 oz. silver bar today: the Una and the Lion and it IS beautiful!!! Because I needed a companion piece for it, I ordered a 10 oz. RCM bar 2 weeks ago. Looking forward to its arrival as well...
I definitely see silver coinage as being a denominator of value and medium of "everyday retail" exchange. Gold would be such for larger assets, like a vehicle or real-estate.
It’ll be worth it, just watch…..be GRACED now and soon money will come. I don’t believe it’ll be too difficult to unload/sell either if needed to do so. That can be referred to as the base of your personal bank.
@@d.j.finest5598 that’s the great thing about dealing with a local coin/precious metals dealer. He has told me in numerous occasions that he will gladly buy back anything he’s sold me. So, I’m not worried about unloading it should the need arise.
I recently started stacking and I'm finding the coins to be unavailable locally or with heavy premium. I chose to purchase a bar recently based on my understanding of silver being necessary for manufacturing and because there seems to be a shortage. I'm not interested in collectables or SHTF scenarios where we may end up needing it for personal trade. I would like a hedge against the paper wall street products and any other economic uncertainty that may not be so far away. I'm not interested in catching the tops of markets and if my holdings appreciate, I'll happily take spot for them when I'm ready. Do you thing you would stack more bars if you could reasonably risk that we are facing a rather sever economic cycle and that we will maintain all of our current access to physical markets through the internet and using postal couriers?
Your talking saving wealth as I read this therefore Gold. As I read Tim, Silver is currency If you don't have dollars you need silver. Gold is like money in the Bank and you Cannot afford to lose it Buy Gold...
King manta...problem with trading futures and later wanting to take it in physical silver is that there is not even close to enough silver in the world right now to do that. They're trading something like 20x more silver than there physically is in the world. It's all just "paper silver".
I'm brand new to investing in precious metals and I have my first 5oz fine silver bar on the way. However, bars are not my game plan and I went with the 5oz bar due to some technical difficulties trying to buy 5 1oz coins... Anyway, my original game plan was junk silver, especially for a shtf scenario for the same reason you gave, being pre-determined denominations. I've been talking about buying silver for months but I finally decided to start doing it when I learned a 1964 dime has about $1.40 worth of silver in it. The U.S.$ is the equivalent of monopoly money and more and more countries are parting ways with the $ while at the same time stockpiling gold. That tells me all I need to know.
Really getting hooked on your channel. I collect silver coins and bullion as well as jewelry. Not carrying much gold but plan to increase gold as well as copper. Keep up the good work.
Love your videos. I happen to have a 100 ounce bar, and also a 50 ounce bar. I dream of one day walking into the bank, setting my 100 ounce bar on the counter and telling them I would like to pay off my house, 2 cars, and please give me the change. Haha
If you believe in the U.S. Debt Clock's prediction of $4,942 per ounce for silver, then a 100 ounce bar will be just shy of a half-million dollars. I can live with that ;-)
I like the Canadian Royal Mint's 10oz bars. I feel like they are a good combination of larger store of wealth and with the mintage they would be a good name to give it extra liquidity that would not be afforded to other bars.
Been stacking for a couple years, so i'm relatively new to the scene. I mostly own silver maples but I also have some RCM 100oz bars and thinking about getting RCM 10oz bars in the future. The bar you have in the video lacks transparency features I would agree, however some of the Gov't mint bars (like Royal Canadian Mint) include some safety features into their bars for authenticity and trust, albeit the coins are the best in that regard. There is just some about holding a big chunky bar that I love
Thank you Yankee Stacking. I am new to your channel today. Tim is a lovely gentleman with a good heart. I like you also. I am subscribed. Ps, I really like the coins. It’s all about the beautiful intrinsic detail, for me 💜😁
I really like your channel! Nothing wrong with having some of each. A large silver bar could be used to barter for major car repairs, new roof or furnace for the house, etc. I did not plan this but I have about 45% generic bars/rounds, 40% government issue, 15% USA 90%. I count my 2 oz and 10 oz Queen's Beasts as government issue.
Traded basic libertads for Germania Kilo bar with serialized security features than traded back for libertads and got better ones such as 1987 proof 1986 and 2000 libertad. Started with $700 in libertads for Kilo then Kilo for libertads & ended up with $977 libertads. There's really something about holding a Kilo... Real Substance. The Germania kilo bar is the best version in my opinion. Security feature & gorgeous! I traded back because of this video & did better in the final results.
I just started stacking silver, thanks for all the info. I live next door neighbor, in Maine😁😁 since watching I’ve wanted to take a trip to Tim’s store. If I do I’ll be sure to ask for a sticker.
I got over spot for generic silver Buffalo bars on a trade for gold the other day. Silver is flying off the shelves at high premiums. Gold sits there a little longer.
Junk silver for SHTF makes no sense. The average person doesn’t know the difference between junk silver and modern coinage. You really think you’ll be able to pay with a dime in a SHTF scenario? 99% of people will just think it’s a dime and good luck explaining on the spot that it’s actually not a typical dime, it’s made of 90% silver. Yeah, they’ll believe that.
I love that glow from the silver bar - no need to explain your “why”. Visceral indeed! I’m brand new at PM, my 1st order arriving tomorrow. Your comments are very helpful to the Newbies. I opted for 1/2 silver dollar and 1/2 in silver rounds. I’m not thinking about a sell-back price, I am considering which might be more acceptable to the public. And uh…..not necessarily the public in our own country. 😜
I just started stacking. I buy one ounce rounds and bars mostly. I don't care either way. I've bought some nice coins, but I paid the premium. My concern is SHTF. I can trade one ounce at a time. I can't break up a 10 ounce or 1 kg bar and get change back. I also don't want to be sitting on a stack of constitutional silver, and try to trade it with people who won't know what it is and consider it the same as worthless fiat currency.
I just bought my very first American Eagle 2 days ago. I started with 6 coins. It's what I could afford. I paid $36.07 each from SDBuillion in Toledo. My friend said I way overpaid. Since, I'm brand new to stacking, I'd like to know if I did and if I did, where can I buy in the future. Im glad i came across your channel. I'm learning alot. Thanks.
@@biggusdoggus5909 so instead of payong 27k you gotta pay 30 or 31k for that big of a bar. I'd buy 100 oz for pouring it myself, make a bunch of 10 grams and 1 oz bars, May be a a few 3 oz
When I first started, I wanted to purchase as many ounces as I could for the money. I have 12 - 100 oz bars, 10 of which are RCM .9999 s/n bars which are my preference due to the integrity of the mint. As time has worn on, I have branched out into Maple Leafs and the like but
Good video and great points. I try to diversify; having both but have 70% bars v coins. Yea you get more back for government backed coins but if u want to add weight, the bars will let you do that faster and for less money. Also it's easier to store bars v coins. My bars are mostly Englehard, Johnson Murphy, Geiger, Royal Canadian Mint, etc. Also nothing like having a 100 oz bar in your hand. If you have premium bars such as brands I mentioned, they are trusted all over the world as well.
I agree. I hope I can leave all to my daughter. I have to teach her not to take it to mobile places that buy old junk jewelry for 50 cents on the dollar.
Poured Silver bars are the classic PM investment , but they are quite easy to counterfeit. An alternative to 1 kg silver bars may be the 1 kg Australian Kookaburra or Koala. If you can get them for reasonable prices with moderate premiums.
Just a note when buying 90%. .715 oz silver in a dollar of of fractional 90%. .773 oz. silver in a US Morgan dollar. If that makes a difference to you?
I've been stacking since 1987. I collect govt. mint coins of various series every year. Whenever silver is low...I STACK bars. Over the years, it adds up...and my bars have a DCA of under 15. Of course, the coins have their collector value. Either way...all that matters is that you're happy with your collection.
Well, I went to my lcs to get some silver to melt. I asked about ASE's, and they were $8 - $9 more per ozt than other rounds & bars. If I didn't need the silver for projects, I definitely would've picked up a 1/4 ozt gold eagle instead. I ended up buying a 250g PAMP bar, as it was the cheapest 999fs available. My lcs also said he couldn't keep 1ozt bars in stock. For some reason, a lot of people have been coming in asking for bars. One guy came in while I was there, and left when the dealer told him he only had three 1ozt OPM silver bars available. Precious metals are insane right now.
In Switzerland. I bought mostly 1kg bars and here is why: 1kg bar: buy price 880,- sell price 751,- difference 17%. 1 ounce maple leaf: buy price 30.80 sell price 23.30 difference 32%. Almost the double. So if im going to sell it to the shop. They give me way more return on 1kg. For the SHTF situation i have pre 65 silver coins
9:26 Yes you are right. In fact, i am currently working with the Royal Mint to create a wildcard global currency coin set in silver, gold and palladium, whose value will follow the precious metal price per weight, instead of FIAT currency rates. Meaning if the price of gold doubles, your coin doubles in value
I just recently got back into collecting silver, I’ve been buying scrap silver to cupel and pour my own small bars and rounds. Don’t get me wrong I still collect coins as well but it does give you a good feeling to make something yourself

“Should I buy bars or coins?”
“Yes.”
😂😂🤣
coins r like double the cost on ebay
With bars you pay taxes, but not on coins.

Hope and Faith, To me that is worth a Premium. Stick with any who give you that Feeling, If it Leaves I suggest You Leave...

The bars I have are reserved for large transactions - like land or a vehicle....
Yes.
I have not sold any, But eagles are always over Spot I found when selling Back.
Coins you get more with age bars are spot minus there fees
I just got started stacking silver.
I cashed out my 401K and bought several 100 ounce bars. I only bought the big bars. I took them down to my local guy, he offered to buy them all from me $2 over spot. I told him no, and then I bought 2 kilo bars from him.
I 100% believe that Silver is going to the moon after the RV.
Plus, these bars are most definitely going to go into manufacturing products.
I'm not concerned about reselling them, or paying out high premiums when I buy.
That is why I chose buying big bars.

The term dollar is based on that exact weight of silver. Most people go around saying the word dollar and having no concept of what that word really means.
That’s true. I remember talking about that in a prior video once.
one dollar = 371.25 grains of silver.
@@YankeeStacking I remember that. Great video.
Me and my wife started budgeting better and we now have an investment budget(really small ATM) of about $20-$30 a week. Thank you for this video, Ive been wanting to invest in silver and gold and wasn't sure where to start. I was thinking the bars would be better as like a long term investment. For now you convinced me to get these govt coins. Especially since they are right around my current budget anyways.

It cost a lot over spot due to silver being taxed in the UK , it remains to been seen how much it'll be worth in say 20 yrs . It sure is a chunk of metal i can barely pick it up with one hand.
A 100 oz Engelhard is high on my list! Great points on this video Mr. Yankee! 🍻
I’ve never had issues selling bars (I rarely ever sell) , but it is true what you’re saying. I’ve had to negotiate and go through different buyers to get a fair price.
I just got a 2021 Britannia 1 0zt silver coin..wow such a beautiful coin..
It sure is! A gold one is next on my list. 😍
Ended up getting another five 2021 Britannia coins, for a current total of 15. I want another 10, to make a full tube.
They are rather nice, thou it is a shame we won't have any more Oriental Border varieties. But that's life...
The prettiest.
HD. I have 1×Britannian monster box, 50 lunar, 50 Queen's beasts silver coins and all are capital gain exempt in the UK
What do I know? I'm only from Nigeria working in London England.
Yes I have 100 oz bar and a few 10 oz bars. If I`m buying bars I stick to the Canadian Mint. Their bars are all serial numbered and come in 100, 10 and 1oz sizes.
Picked up a classic 100 oz Johnson Mathey bar last spring. It’s just so imposing, all that weight!
Thanks for the help! I appreciate it. You are a compassionate person! 🌻🌻
Sounds like you should be looking 8nti the futures market or options. If you take delivery your not paying a 30-65% premium
King manta...problem with trading futures and later wanting to take it in physical silver is that there is not even close to enough silver in the world right now to do that. They're trading something like 20x more silver than there physically is in the world. It's all just "paper silver".
I just went to Tims shop for the first time, What a great guy he is🪙
I mentioned that you sent me😊
I'm brand new to investing in precious metals and I have my first 5oz fine silver bar on the way.
Haha
I would like to buy a house with a 100 ounce bar that would be really cool
If you believe in the U.S. Debt Clock's prediction of $4,942 per ounce for silver, then a 100 ounce bar will be just shy of a half-million dollars. I can live with that ;-)
@@chrisbay7113 i believe!!!
Just picked up my first RCM 10oz bar. I agree they have a satisfactory heft.
@@AudioMayhem100 I want some of those! Im grabbing some air tight capsules to keep them protected too. Amazon if your interested.
Thank you Yankee Stacking. I am new to your channel today. Tim is a lovely gentleman with a good heart. I like you also. I am subscribed. Ps, I really like the coins. It’s all about the beautiful intrinsic detail, for me 💜😁
10 oz RCM bars, Maples and Eagles are the bulk of my silver. I love the RCM bars
I agree.
Same!!
Looking at buying a monster box of 10 oz bars
I have a few myself. Going to buy 3 more pretty soon. Probably on Saturday.
The government issued coins don't require an ID when u go to sale and the generic bullion do in the state of S.C.
Damn, I was recently looking at getting a kilo bar just because I love the size and design. But I understand your thinking.
Just bought a 10oz bar and 6 Siler maples, first time buying silver. This video convinced me to get into stacking
The 5 and 10 ouncers are so cool to hold and look at 😍😍😍😍😍
I just started stacking silver, thanks for all the info. I live next door neighbor, in Maine😁😁 since watching I’ve wanted to take a trip to Tim’s store. If I do I’ll be sure to ask for a sticker.
I have fun getting pretty rounds, I kind of collect in a way that helps me enjoy it. I still get bullion, but I don't mind bars and rounds.
I have been watching your channel for a while and I have to say that your lighting really does highlight your metals.
Love my silver kilos! Those are never going nowhere. I’ll swap my eagles leafs and Britannia’s for gold. Junk is for SHTF. Kilos are the retirement!
Good for you! Thanks for watching. 👌🏼
It’s for after SHTF mis spoke
@@brokenwave6125 it’s not rocket science! Lol
I’m curious how much silver Yankee has in total as of today.
I want a 1000 ounce bar but I have a bad back and even weaker wallet.. So that is unlikely to happen!
AKA the one comma bar. Get two of them so you could do dumbbell presses. Could start your own You Tube channel. Silver Fitness. :)
He would two 31.1 kilo dumbbells lol
I just bought my very first American Eagle 2 days ago. I started with 6 coins. It's what I could afford. I paid $36.07 each from SDBuillion in Toledo. My friend said I way overpaid. Since, I'm brand new to stacking, I'd like to know if I did and if I did, where can I buy in the future. Im glad i came across your channel. I'm learning alot. Thanks.
I really want a 100 oz bar. I'm saving up!
There cool, but you gotta find someone who has 3500 that wants to buy it and not an iphone
@@THEGOODLIFE-wl3xu APMEX had a 1000 oz bar for spot plus a $3.49/Oz. premium, but they only had the one. Even the 1000 oz. bars are scarce I guess?
@@biggusdoggus5909 so instead of payong 27k you gotta pay 30 or 31k for that big of a bar. I'd buy 100 oz for pouring it myself, make a bunch of 10 grams and 1 oz bars, May be a a few 3 oz
But not sure if it would be much cheaper to buy the 100 oz
I bought one a few months back. They are amazing to hold in your hands
When I first started, I wanted to purchase as many ounces as I could for the money. I have 12 - 100 oz bars, 10 of which are RCM .9999 s/n bars which are my preference due to the integrity of the mint. As time has worn on, I have branched out into Maple Leafs and the like but
Bars at the smallest part of my stack! Still waiting for the sticker my friend!
Everything I do concerning this is done for my kids! I agree with you 99.9%!
I agree. I hope I can leave all to my daughter. I have to teach her not to take it to mobile places that buy old junk jewelry for 50 cents on the dollar.
I have 2 kids and bought them each 1kg of silver and 1oz of Gold. The Perth Mint is best in Australia. I need to get myself some
Poured Silver bars are the classic PM investment , but they are quite easy to counterfeit. An alternative to 1 kg silver bars may be the 1 kg Australian Kookaburra or Koala. If you can get them for reasonable prices with moderate premiums.
i have a kilo koala and its a beautiful coin over half an inch thick
@@johnschouten2924 Yep, now it´s time to get the 1 kg Kookaburra ! Depends on the premiums...
I don't buy bars if I don't know who made it..
Your so right to point this out. Thank you..
I like 10 Oz and maples and Eagles.
Are my top 3. I am moving in to 90 % for know.
Just a note when buying 90%. .715 oz silver in a dollar of of fractional 90%. .773 oz. silver in a US Morgan dollar. If that makes a difference to you?
Thank you.
.6936 ounces in a dollar of pre 1920 Canada sterling or .600 ounces in a dollar of pre 1967 80%.
Insane is right! I think people are going for the bars because they have a slightly less premium. 🤷♂️
Bars can be made into anything..they always can be remelted.
That is true!
Exactly! Little trinkets or any hand poured silver will sale for way more than spot.
I bet replicas of ancient coins would too.
Coins can be melted too
9:26 Yes you are right. In fact, i am currently working with the Royal Mint to create a wildcard global currency coin set in silver, gold and palladium, whose value will follow the precious metal price per weight, instead of FIAT currency rates. Meaning if the price of gold doubles, your coin doubles in value
I am a prepper so I buy one oz. bars from time to time, but the bigger stuff is just to cumbersome for me to store.
Same. I buy from time to time I will never stop stacking. My focus is more on ammo.
Same, I buy in 1oz for barter and liquidity. “You got change for a kilo bar?”
@@poisonfortheweak I buy 1/2 oz too for easier liquidity
I bought my first few silver eagles and rounds a few days ago and now I'm absolutely hooked! Is that normal? Lol.
I collect both, but coins are my favorite! 🤪
Coins 🪙 Rock!
I just recently got back into collecting silver, I’ve been buying scrap silver to cupel and pour my own small bars and rounds. Don’t get me wrong I still collect coins as well but it does give you a good feeling to make something yourself
That sounds fascinating. Any advice or tips to get started with that. Been acquiring all kinds of silver from thrift stores. Would like to do this
@@XRPeakyBlindAR there are a lot of great videos on UA-cam on how to refine silver so you can pour bars or rounds
