In 4 days, I’m going to Vietnam with my family from San Francisco international via Taipei with the same aircraft that you went on and the same flight number. Mine was Eva Air No. 017 with registration of B-16738 and also was a 777-36NER. We were going in economy class too! It was the new livery, and not the old one, and thanks for the report!
CONGRATULATIONS, and I really enjoyed your video 📹. I have flown with EVA before, no complaints! Gonna book my flight ✈️ to Cambodia 🇰🇭, with them once more. Thanks again for a job well done 👏 sir. Hope you enjoyed the Philippines 🇵🇭 .
I just returned from Cebu City flying EVA through LAX. I used to fly Premium Economy but until the fare returns to normal, I will fly Economy exit row seats, which I dont mind one bit. Im 6 ft 6in so leg room for 15hrs is of the utmost importance. Im returning to Cebu City on Sept 15th.
Hey Russell, we'll be flying from SFO to Cebu next month. Is the Covid requirement the same as what it says on the PAL website----that you need only upload your Vax card to OneHealthPass and that's it? I looked thru EVA air website and of course, doesn't mention anything beyond arriving to and from Taipei. Sent an email to EVA air Manila and they were already closed so it asked for me to call back during business hours. What?!?!?!? They cant or don't respond to email inquiries? Thanks.
@Kimberly M. Stout ..I didn't see the flight attendants telling passengers to put on facemask on the flight. Maybe they did but I didn see them do it. But they did make announcement before takeoff to keep mask on unless eating a meal.
I remember going to South Korea and to Taiwan, for my transfers (S.K. or The Philippines, and Taiwan for Indonesia)....in the night on board the flights, something so peaceful being in the night sky, with the moon....and the hum of the engines of the plane 😊 God bless you, my friend....I hope one day we both can meet and travel again in the air! P.S.....I SOOO much agree with you about the kids! You wouldn't bring them to a movie theater having them crying, and yelling.....parents should get charged extra then 😅
Thank you for this report. I will be taking this flight in a couple months, transiting through to Bangkok. I finally chose to upgrade to premium economy, I couldn't deal with the narrowness of the seats in the economy 3-4-3 configuration on a 777. Since I was already planning on paying for extra leg room I finally decided to pay for the upgrade. How was the 15lb weight limit for carry-on bags? Did they weigh the bags at SFO? I took interest of those who also had stuffed backpacks.
Taking this in 2 weeks. Economy as well. Back in 2019, I did roundtrip prem economy and it was a great trip. Bummed that I’m doing economy this time. Lol
taking this flight to taipei then to cebu city philippines, economy is fine just find a good seat, if you cant bear an economy long haul seat then people need to have more money for better seats.
Can you connect a bluetooth headset to the IFE or do you need your headset to be wired? Thanks! As for an unruly kid like that, the best way to knock them out is to give them some benadryl. Work everytime!
The business class seats don't really look much wider than the premium economy seats. The latter of course doesn't have the advantage of having more of your own space around your seat, and doesn't lay flat like the business class. The economy seats definitely look narrower than the other two, they are narrow. I just don't think that I could sit in such an enclosed space for 12 or 13 hours, with so little space to even stretch. I could manage premium economy though. If I'm going to save up $ to take a vacation to the Far East, I'm going to save that extra 2 or 3 hundred dollars to travel there in premium economy. The trip overall would already be costing well into the 4 figure range so it won't really be that big a difference in money to make my plane tickets premium economy. But,, it would be a noticeable difference in comfort (business class though would be a much bigger difference in $, but I'll be fine with premium economy)
I would definitely suggest Premium Economy if you can afford it. I went to MNL from IAH 4x from 2017-2018 and I took Eco the first time around. The service was excellent, but 16.5 hours sitting in that seat was pure madness. Thank goodness I had an aisle seat and would reward myself with breaks every hour by going to the bathroom. Towards the end I just didn't care anymore and was going to the back of the plane and doing air squats. After my trip was over and I was boarding the plane to return, I literally cried in my seat. But I lived to tell the tale lol. PE was 100% improvement and it was like traveling in a recliner. Definitely get it if you can. I'm retiring in June 2023 and moving to MNL....treating myself to Royal Laurel and i'm so excited! I think i'm gonna stay awake the whole time haha
@Mhel2023 Hey same here 😅, I traveled to Vietnam 🇻🇳 from Chicago, and I also went to the back of the plane to do squats, and talk to Flight attendants. It's very important to circulate your system, if you're on long Flight like this.
Oh okay. Got it. Leaving for the Philippines in a couple days. JetBlue doesn’t have a limit and I was wondering if same applies for EVA. Do they weight your bags before boarding EVA?
This would have been my flight from the U.S. to Taipei to Chiangmai. However, I started looking for a flight at the first of the year and I kept hearing about problems transiting at Taipei because of Covid. I ended up booking a flight on Singapore from the U.S. to Singapore to Bangkok to Chiangmai A 14 hour connection at Changi was a negative, as Eva offers 18-20 hours from the U.S. to Chiangmai. Were the Covid regulations at Taipei removed by the time that you flew?
Yes! The Covid regulations are basically removed, however they ask that you wear a mask if you're connecting through there. A negative Covid PCR test is no longer required.
I should have taken Eva. While the flights with Singapore Airlines were great, the 14 hour layover in Singapore was a killer. I had to return to the U.S. because my brother unexpectedly died. While Singapore Airlines flight experience is great, they have no customer service, particularly if you bought your ticket from a third party travel agency. After four days of trying to see if Singapore Airlines had a Bereavement policy, I found out that they would charge me $1,650 to change my return ticket I bought a ticket on Qatar airlines for $620. I’m flying Eva in a month to Chiangmai
Do they measure your carry on ? My carryon size are 22.5x15.5x9.5 inches. Theirs website stated allow carry on size are no bigger than 22x14x9 inches. Thanks
I am supposed to fly on EVA AIR going to San Francisco on the 19th of this month. However, I got a good deal with Cathay Pacific. The long line in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, is that for those who have connecting flights?
The long line was for all passengers who were connecting on the flight to Manila (which was the flight I took after the one in this video). We waited for 5 minutes, then were guided to a security checkpoint.
At 16:05, I'm really surprised the omelette came prepared with tomato ketchup spread over it. That looks disgusting. What about those (like me) who hate ketchup, esp over their eggs ? 😡
Yeah, I'm not sure why so much of it was filmed. When you're flying over the ocean and/or a cloudy sky at night, you're not going to be able to see a thing, except faintly the aircraft wing I noticed at 18:44 how it went from pitch dark to suddeny seeing all of those lights not far beneath. Tauyaun Taipei Airport is right by the northwest coast of Taiwan and they were over ocean til they were almost finished their descent
Just got back from Taipei, I have to say, I should’ve gone with royal laruel or other airlines, the economy class is unbearable even for a 11hrs flight, Singapore airline economy is much better when I took it back in 2013, last trip to Singapore was flying their business class which is a must for 17hr flight 😂

Im looking at similar flights with eva. Was it required to wear a mask on the plane?
@@kimberlystout3658 ..Unless eating or drinking, mask must be worn.

Can I ask a question if you don't mind? My USA passport is still in process, can I use my US drivers license to book online?
