No matter where I go no matter what I do in life I hear my buddy Taz and that magical magical way he played on that keyboard. All musicians have a pet sound with each other and they can tell if you're off key or not. Titus love that album and loved everything about being in the Charlie Daniels Band rest in peace my friend Taz.
TAZ DEGRIGERIO FROM SOUTHBRIDGE MASS AKA INDIAN RANCH

RIP Charlie....this was always one of my favorites of yours.
Mine also
When debuting this song to friends, it's unreal how many couldn't believe the Charlie Daniels Band played it. All they think of is cheese like "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" when they think CDB. Then they hear this great song and are blown away. CDB was and is a great jam band.
charlie was bob dylans guitar player for awhile his sound was totally unique almost allman brothers there will never be another like him saw them 23 times wish i could see them 24
This song always reminds me of the Allman Bros. Love the whole album. The musicians in this video are top notch. especially the drummer. Thanks CD for bringing this song back.
Damn I miss Taz. One great keyboard player. All soul.
Hi Amdar1 I totally agree with you! It’s the Sounds of the South at their best!!
This song would have fit right in on Brothers and Sisters or Win Lose or Draw
ALLMAN INFLUENSED FOR SURE BUT THERES ONLY ONE CDB THAT SOUND IS SO UNIQUE
What a performance of this song. RIP Charlie you sure had a way of choosing great musical talent.
i saw the marshall tucker band....with special guests...the charlie daniels band.....december....1975...at the aragon ballroom in chicago...a crazy night....14 inches of snow fell that night....they did a 45 minute jam at the end...with both bands.....and it took us 2 hours to get out of the parking lot....cause of the blizzard...a night ill never 4 get
THANX FOR THE MEMORY GREAT STORY CAN PICTURE THIS IN MY WAY BACK MACHINE
It doesn't get much better than this. This is what's missing in today's music....jammin! I love me some Charlie Daniels!
Fantastic performance by everyone involved, rest in peace Taz and Charlie.
THANK YOU , CDB ! Now All is revealed , abiding in The Christ eternally . Halleluiah .

A 75 Camaro full of Coors, a dark Texas two-lane, and the threat to my license started at 3:53.
This Will always be my favorite charlie instrumental jam...i saw charlie in 73...74...and 75 76..and 77....for some of the best southern jams...of my life.....
those drum heads and the band itself should be in the rock and roll hall of fame
RIP Charlie. Thanks for all the great music over the years!
Been a fan of Charlie for 50 years. So talented. Possibly the best string musician ever (yes, I know there are others), but ask his peers.
RIP Taz, my friend. If only we could hear you play this one more time....
AMEN brother....Taz was GREAT....taken way too soon-
Taz was a awesome man I was so young. I was blessed to see them in concert 12 times!!! Since I was 13 the 1st time I'm gonna tell on myself I snuck into the stone balloon in Newark, De my home town, and I asked the bouncer if I could talk to the band and I went up this flight of stairs and there they all were, and i was like hi i hand to meet you because your music is so awesome. Taz cut me off and asked how old I was I tried to lie but couldn't I wasn't a groupie or nothing I just love the CDB. I Just said guess and taz guessed right busted lol. So I asked Charlie if he would adopt me he said I h as very one teenager dont need another. It was all good fun and I'll never forget two musicians that mean so much!!! This is one of my favs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds as good as the '70's when I first heard it! R.I.P. Taz & Tommy
Yes Taz and Tommy was a true great of the band only two left of the original of what became the Charlie Daniels Band so rest in peace Taz and Tommy. I Taz and Tommy love to perform this song. Together with Charlie that was a Pet Sounds song to all of them
Yeah, I got to see the original CDB in Bakersfield, Man what a show! In the Top 5
This is only one of the songs my daddy would ask me to play for him when he was a live I bought the original album back when it came out as teenager I'm sixty two now and would give anything to be able to show this nothing but respect ✌️ and lots of 🎶💕💕💕
R.I.P. MR. DANIELS, YOU WERE A GREAT HUMANITARIAN, YOU ALWAYS GAVE BACK TO THE WORLD AND THE NEEDY, YOUR MUSIC WILL BE HEARD FOREVER , COUSIN FIGEL
I also hear Santana in parts of the instrumental. Phenomenal 🎉
The greatest of all time. There will never be another Charlie Daniels. Godspeed brother
INCREDIBLE VERSION!!! So passionate, so powerful, so musical, and by far the best flowing version i've ever heard! Great band! saw you all last at the RITZ in Elizabeth NJ and that concert was dynamically explosive! Since I knew the theatre owner , I had the opportunity to speak with the guitarist and to tell him how incredible the show was. It was fkn totally ass kickin! way different than the old school sound. Much heavier and way more powerful! Yes, Marshal Tucker opened. God bless you Charlie Daniels and thank you for all of your art and artists!
"Maybe it's just because you like to feel free." Love Charlie. Miss him every.day.
When I was in Korea (81) this my road song before I hit the TDC Ville, and it's still one of my favorites.
RIP Charlie, I'm glad you didn't have to see the warnings in yer tubes come true.
Rest Peacefully Charlie. Thanks for all the great music.
Have always loved to watch him direct the band. I've been blessed by getting to meet, then have several conversations with this great man. Mrs. Hazel is awesome too, if you've ever met her, you're better. I love my you, my friend, and your family will be okay...eventually...we all will. Till we meet again...
This is shannon, btw, using hubby's phone. When Charlie took that wide stance, you might as well hold ya draws cuz it was balls to the wall jammin in another dimension
Fantastic. One of my all time fave CDB tunes. Great watching them do it live and so great, even now. Thanks!
BTW, I have always dug Charlie Hayward on bass. Always very tasteful bass playing.
God bless Charlie! 86th bday in Heaven today! 🙏👍❤🇺🇸
This is talent at its finest, and music that we so loved at its best.
He will always seem like and old friend...though I never met him. Saddle Tramp was a good album. Rest in peace my old friend.

I was at this show. It was supposed to be at Oak Mountain but the weather was horrible with tornados all around. He was in town for Talledaga and opened for WSP.
When I first heard this back in the 70's, I thought, what a good ole' country song! Then it changes.I went wow! It's "acid country"!I'm just saying, great music from a great innovator of great music!I am beyond happy to listen to some of his"acid"

From my favorite CDB album of the same name.
If I had never heard this song before (One of my favorites) and just listened with my eyes closed to the instrumental portion, I would swear, there is a lot of Carlos Santana coming out.
This show was actually scheduled for the beautiful Oak Mountain Amphitheater, but the weather was so bad it had to be moved indoors. Charlie opened for Widespread Panic, so this was one Helluva show!
