50 years ago there was a bonny every 500m on the estates. Including empty aerosol cans, and 5 litre oil cans. They had to be guarded to stop the neighbouring kids setting light to it.
That's what we need in most bigger cities, people coming together back like it used to be 20 years ago lots of community spirit, look belter lads. 🔥 stay safe.
Years ago they used to be all along our beach in Weymouth. And 5th could be damn dangerous being down there. They used to fire rockets along the ground, and they used to hold Roman candles horizontal and fire them at various people. No wonder they clamped down on it. How there was never more serious injuries I’ll never know.
What they dont realise is.. all the PVC windows in the houses opposite will be hot and start to melt, also the homes will smell of smoke. its a boss bombfire but its too close to homes.
They will save a few ££ trying to keep warm .. year's ago we had massive Bonfires all over Liverpool and none of the house's had a problem 😊. Everyone joined in Baking Spuds and Chestnuts 🌰 😊
The Shankill Road Birkenhead. To be fair lads need excitement and a purpose and they will ditch the PlayStations. Some pallets look newish so not sure why they would be ditched being expensive to buy? As a kid bonny night was exiting you have a box of firworks, cathrine wheel,Roman candle Vesuvius zig zag.then you got red and green banger matches and bangers if you were lucky.I remember the spuds in foil and sparklers
Is right, I thought proper bommies were a thing of the past, we used to have bommies this size in the early 80s... Some of the surrounding house are going to need new gutters, drain pipes, and window ledges the day after...
Kev you should take a trip Belfast and Larne in July to see some of the bonfires I think they have the record and some have to use cranes to build there so tall lol
Thanks, Kev! The kids used to build their own bommies years ago and most of the council streets had their own, small ones, built on the corners of the streets! We had bangers, aero-planes, sparklers, volcanoes, Catherine wheels, rockets, etc. One year the kids built a bommie that was about 20ft in height and the fire brigade came to put it out! We relit it with gasoline from a can! Stupid kids having fun! I hope your mum is feeling a lot better! 🙏🙏
By far the biggest I've seen and we used to build BIG bonfires. Now ours look tiny. The last bonfire I saw of that size was 23 years ago in Manhatten Island, New York.
hey m8 if they're gonna lite it at 7, it might be worth filming it and going to the match 15 mins late, ther'll be nothin on the roads around anfield when the match starts. we always start slow anyway.
There's a place in St Helens short of pallets, offering £1.50 each. This though is going to hilarious on the night. The neighbours should be nervous. That is if the authorities allow it.
boss bonny that kev, i'll look forward to seeing your vlog, especially the drone footage, will you filming it with your drone when its lit ? love to ya ma kev.
Kev, when you were talking to the la' your accent really shone. It's a fantastic accent to my ears. Clearly tells me your usual UA-cam accent is the "posh" you, to help us southerners / East Anglians get to grips with you. 🤣I heard La' quite a lot from people when I was up there in the summer, down my neck of the woods we say Bu'/Buh or Boy. The work that has gone into this huge structure is mighty impressive. Usually the council would throw all licence requirements & H&S gubbins at it. In reality people can assess things & they have had years experience learning how to do it. It deserves the greatest of respect because it is the people doing it for themselves. Hope no one leaves any washing out overnight 🔥🔥🔥🤣 You are doing exactly what you said you would do. Boss La' / Cheers Bu'
Hope the fire service are on standby for that one god scary. I would have to go away for the week if i lived in those houses.will be fun for locals looks great but not my thing Hot spuds and scouse and a sing song around the fire sounds good. Well done to the lads .

Need to look at Bonfires in Belfast on 11th July
Like a sculpture that compared to the ones back in my day. Two couches around a lamp post few wardrobes and a wet mattress was our effort
Round here it was people's back doors and fences.

I think it's great that this is still going on. Our council won't allow it because of H and S, and fear of us all turning on them 😂
