The electric switches are new with the plaster around maybe an attempt to modernise and then job got too big and expensive. Its a scandal though leaving it to rot, very sad.

It has modern radiators installed so it's not been abandoned that long.
      It will belong to someone.
And, as has been mentioned it has solar panels on the roof - so it can't have been empty for too long.

Here's what I was able to find:
John Bolding and Sons was originally founded in 1822, and then in 1914 began manufacturing high-class sanitary appliances; complete systems of sanitation, public and private.
What an amazing find! I could live there, and not think twice about doing so.

Such a beautiful property - what a shame it's all being left to rot. The main house wasn't abandoned that long ago because there are solar panels on the roof; the servants' house was abandoned a long time ago. Somebody is definitely keeping an eye on it all, protecting the furniture (no dust flying up from the dust sheets when you took them off) and cutting the lawn, and the Aga looks impeccable. So worth restoring!
The wooden things in the mansion hallway are old loo seats - probably Victorian.

So ture. Unfortunately, it not only takes a lot of money to acquire this one but I'd say an equal amount to restore it properly (structurally sound and free of mold etc).
The peeling walls and marks on the floor speak of extensive water damage, usually accompanied by mold and rot :/ But yes, this would be sooo beautiful if somebody had the time and money to restore it to its former glory.

I can imagine winter with lots of snow and being in this house for months with the wife and kids in the countryside, maybe some mistress on the side among servents etc. very cozy place lit with fireplaces when it was new and taken care of. The master bedrooms are outstanding with private bethrooms next to them and huge window views. Marvelous place.

Then there is the mysterious power issue in the home! If those are not solar panels, collecting solar power for the home to use to light its lights, among other things, then where is the power coming from? I don't see any utility poles anywhere, stringing power from afar through electrical wires for the home to use, and I can't really see someone going to great expense to trench in power utilities underground for untold kilometres, through forests and farmland for just three buildings, do you?

Housing and land is actually more expensive in the British Isles. In the us, its value would be based on location. I’ve seen large homes like this and with the same amount of decay being sold for less than a million dollars. You’re basically buying the land and they’re often discounted because the house is unlivable. In the US, a wealthy person would tear it down and start over. There may be exceptions, but the cost of remediation and renovation may not be economically feasible.

@@Loliolla on significant issue is if it’s been designated a listed ‘historic’ building (equivalent to a Landmark building in US). The local historic building planners are a nightmare and act like ‘little Napoleons’ overseeing EVERYTHING that’s done to the building, sometimes taking months to come to a decision and not permitting things that are just common sense to any normal person. This significantly drives up the cost of renovations depending on the ‘grade’ of the listing. They have the power to force people to ‘rectify’ changes they didn’t permit, and homeowners can even be imprisoned for egregious violations.

What a beautiful house and staff house. I would imagine the staff house was for a chauffeur at some point or gardener. In the main house kitchen the round 'water container' is an old electric clothes boiler. ( my mum had one) the servants stairs were there to prevent 'kitchen staff' from being seen by the family, it also served as an extra fire exit. A stunning place indeed and all worth doing up again . Then it has concealed solar panels and batteries, powering heat pumps and electricity, allowing the removal of gas and oil and the estate now has net zero carbon emissions from current energy usage. NO BILLS. They also have a Farm Shop and Cafe that is powered by solar panels. But I'm sure it cost a pretty penny to set up. The UA-cam channel American Viscountess did a video on it. It's incredible

These properties are lovely to visit, but the reality of living in one is very different. Restoring and modernizing a home like this, to make it liveable while maintaining its historical integrity, costs a small fortune…. as will the upkeep. These properties take deep pockets! I speak from experience.
I do greatly appreciate your channel and the tour. It is a lovely old house. Stay safe. 🌸
