This vid provides the best instructions I've seen for making a quality, durable alcohol stove. I have several home-made stoves, but none are as cool, I mean hot, as yours. Count me in. Ken
Thanks John! As I have said to another poster; "There was another UA-camr that showed you how to do it. After I made a comment "Now I can make my own" He since removed said video. He was want to sell them, and wasn't thinking." Now there is a video out there to show the DIYer how to do it. Keep the great videos coming.
Man, I have watched most of your videos and am just really amazed at problem solving skills and how you share with us. Thank you for your time and services. Greatly appreciated. Jared.
That's awesome Edward! I'm extremely happy to hear that this stove has served you well for so long now. Thank you very much for your great comment my friend... it really means a lot!
Definitely. This is about the strongest alcohol stove design that you can build. Might seem hard to believe, but it can easily withstand the weight of a full grown man standing on it. I'm really hard on my stoves and this one gets the thumbs up from me for its durability.
Thank you very much my friend. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch, as well as leaving such a generous comment regarding the video... it truly means a lot to me.
I made a measuring jig and cut all mine with a 90 deg air grinder and a 5in waffer wheel then just took a tapered burr tip with my fingers and reamed what little burrs were inside the cuts. I used a bench vise for making the die and rolling the top. Made a jig on the drill press for spacing the 5/8" pilots. Only had to lay out the diameter lines. I made about 20 in assembly line fashion. Christmas presents for the extended family. I'll give them a stove, bottle of heet and a clean 2 pound coffee can for emergency boiling/cooking when the power goes out.
I am intrigued at the way you rolled the edge. I need to roll the edges of metal bracelet blanks. I may have to try this now! (my husband was watching how to make the stove and I was watching over his shoulder).
I made one of these for myself. It's the best design I could find. It worked so well that I made several more for my family and friends. They are practically indestructible and they work well. Thanks for all the great ideas.
Love the video, and your channel :D I stumbled across this vid when I was looking at how to time effectively cut glass bottles, and have run through all of your stove and survival kit vids in the past little while. Im not a outdoorsman but this is some pretty awesome stuff that I intend to do soon :) I really like how you can distill hand sanitizer into fuel, that will save me a lot on alcohol fuel- meaning more fun (and dangerous- I admit) fire experiments (Im a pyro, guilty as charged) plus this will go great in my survival kit Im developing, and if I decide to go hiing the appalachain trail, I'll have a handy little stove for supper ^_^ great DIY
Just discovered your most excellent DIY +Tips videos for ultralight backpacking! Great DIY projects for backcountry hiking, hammock camping. Count me in!
Despite all the funny comments (and some were really funny), it was very creative, and this build could give one ideas for many other projects that may benifit from some of these technics. Good stuff (wasn't talking about the music) lol
+Barry Jordan Gotta love the good ol' UA-cam comments section... always entertaining, lol ;) Thanks for the compliment on the stove build by the way... much appreciated!
I just built one of these, and had that song running through my head the whole time! This thing throws out some heat! It outperformed my Trangia burner by a good deal (24oz water rolling boil w/2oz fuel@6:14 vs 11:31), but the Trangia burned longer. If your goal is to boil water, this thing is awesome!
I bought them in Coles. Lots of regular tinnies but also Red Bull bottles just like the ones in the vid. They were on the top shelf - maybe you need to look up there?
The video is actually very well done (compared to most awful vids on here). I'm sure you complainers could do better (not). Just appreciate what the guy did - and say Thank You.
I don't know, but when my friend Darins parents went on vacation we went driving in their Honda civic and accidentally rolled it, after rolling it back onto its wheels we drove home and parked it back in the garage and made up a story that the car got stolen..
I love how ya start out looking for one thing and find something totally unrelated to pique your interest! Stumbled into this vid completely by accident...and I'm quite glad I did! I have GOT to try building me one (or more) of these. Count me in!
Thank you very much my friend, I really appreciate the support and encouragement. I'm also glad to hear that you enjoyed Devin's trip... hopefully we'll be getting out very soon to do it again. He is really looking forward to it!
onetwothree57 oh that's funny, I have your profile picture as a tattoo. Only people like you that don't like tattoos and think it's just for fashion could regret a tattoo. If you don't like them don't get them and don't do any stupid statements like this one on someone else's tattoos.
Very nice.. I was trying to figure out how to roll the edges... I thought I was going to have to machine something to make the roll... Very cool.. Thanks.. Very simple... I promised to make a few of these for friends... Now, it's pretty easy to get that done... Thanks..
Good instructional video...I like how you use the car jack as a press. This is the first video on how to make alcohol burner stoves that thought of this that I have seen!
I made one and it works great, It has 16 jet holes and I filed 4 notches in the top to keep the flame from going out. Used c-clamps and only problem was keeping it straight when compressing it. Thanks for the how to vid, I know what im giving out for Christmas. LOL
Thanks Jeep, I really appreciate that Brother. These stoves are slightly more involved than the good ol' simple penny can type stoves, but the upside is that they're virtually indestructible (less time building replacements, lol). Hope your weekend's going good man!
Nice job on your videos... informative... but not saturated with mindless blathering. Ya got some cool ideas too. Thanks for sharing them.... "Count me in"
It looks like a lot of work to build one of these. It is another challenge all together to film it and make it look this good. Fantastic video production.
Truly appreciate y'all taking the time to watch and comment... really means alot! If you've enjoyed this one please consider taking a second to subscribe and hit the notification bell for more. Thanks my friends... looking forward to seeing ya around! -John

Thanks John for making this so simple.
Great vid, I have no need for an alchohol stove at this time, but the way you made the rolled edge really impressed me.
I made this stove around 2014/15 and I still use it today. VERY GOOD, others love watch it too.
That's awesome Edward! I'm extremely happy to hear that this stove has served you well for so long now. Thank you very much for your great comment my friend... it really means a lot!
12 pack Bud Light- $15
Bottle of HEAT- $8
Look on you wifes face when you rip her cabinet of the wall- Priceless
Definitely. This is about the strongest alcohol stove design that you can build. Might seem hard to believe, but it can easily withstand the weight of a full grown man standing on it. I'm really hard on my stoves and this one gets the thumbs up from me for its durability.
Very cool, have to teach this to my backpacking kids so they can have their "own" stove. Count me in.
Cleverly used of a car jack. Outstanding and thanks for sharing.
Outstanding video. Easy to follow with detailed instructions.

Dude, seriously... Awesome.
From the editing to step by step instructions to the amazing DIY home tooling, well done my friend.
Great idea for ice fishing or camping thanks
I agree. I usually sand and polish mine... gives 'em a kinda cool look. Thanks for the compliment on the vid by the way... much appreciated!
A 6" bench vise and 2 pieces of metal will work prefect for rolling the edges.
Alcohol stove videos never get old! Count me in!
absolutely genious, thank you for sharing.
My pleasure. Thanks for the support :-)
Very inventive! Thank you! :)
yes very inventive and entertaining.thanks.
This is a unique tool!
Of all videos I've seen on how to make this type of stove, your is the best so far...in my opinion. Keep it up man.
I am intrigued at the way you rolled the edge. I need to roll the edges of metal bracelet blanks. I may have to try this now! (my husband was watching how to make the stove and I was watching over his shoulder).
Kim Sorensen Or you could have been actually doing something with your life.

LOL! Thanks for the great comment Marv.
I'm a stove junky too! Thanks for all the tips! Count Me In!
You are smart as hell
That was entertaining, especially bringing the jack into the house. That's the cutest no cost stove, thanks for showing

Well done as usual John. Been going back and watching some of your older videos as well.

Red Bull sell those bottles in Australia
***** I have never seen them. were have you seen them????
I bought them in Coles. Lots of regular tinnies but also Red Bull bottles just like the ones in the vid. They were on the top shelf - maybe you need to look up there?
Wow...that's impressive...very imaginative...simple al can stove....the flame was incredible
ok so it would seem that Canada and Australia don't have these type of bottles I see dollar signs, selling empty Bud Light bottles on Ebay !
Nevermind seems like about 500 people beat me to it :)
Look for the Molson Canadian aluminum bottles. That's what I use for this type of stove.
This is awesome!! I have been looking how to make one of these with out the high dollar machine shop.. You are a genius ..
if I did that in my kitchen to the cabinets, my wife would freak
We know who pushes the vacuum cleaner in your house.
Heavy metal guitar riffs with synthesized horns? Awesome DIY stove designs? Big banners that say "Fire It Up"? Dude! Count me in!
The music is that "free" music on UA-cam when you use the Video Creator app. (you get what you pay for)....
The video is actually very well done (compared to most awful vids on here). I'm sure you complainers could do better (not). Just appreciate what the guy did - and say Thank You.

tell her you're sorry about the scratches on the marble counter from the cement block you put under the jack! 😖
Excellent video with very clear instructions and nice close-ups. Thanks for sharing. Count me in.
Song: Judus Priest feat. Weird Al Yankovic
I love how ya start out looking for one thing and find something totally unrelated to pique your interest! Stumbled into this vid completely by accident...and I'm quite glad I did! I have GOT to try building me one (or more) of these. Count me in!
I got so excited when the shitty song changed key
Thank you very much my friend, I really appreciate the support and encouragement. I'm also glad to hear that you enjoyed Devin's trip... hopefully we'll be getting out very soon to do it again. He is really looking forward to it!
At 1:11 did Anybody else notice the cocaine pinky nail?
yup
I literally was just thinking "nice coke nail" XD
.
+Matty Matt Matt the fuck is that?
I wasn't looking at his nails, lol
Fantastic tutorial. I've seen and built many alcohol stoves, but none as clean as this. I may have to put one together!
Please never use this song again
Please learn how to use the volume control and mute button.
WOW. NOW THATS THE BEST I HAVE SEEN SO. WELL DONE YOU. VERY PRO. AND IT WORKS VERY WELL.
Ooooh too bad about those tattoos
Yeah, I really think too bad anytime I see tattoos because tastes change over time but those d**n things will still be there
onetwothree57 oh that's funny, I have your profile picture as a tattoo. Only people like you that don't like tattoos and think it's just for fashion could regret a tattoo. If you don't like them don't get them and don't do any stupid statements like this one on someone else's tattoos.
too bad ? pfft.... i make a few stoves and have way more tattoos !
I guess you win

Best use of a Budweiser can I've seen yet! I've seen a few versions of this, but I think this is my fave.
This is the best use for those aluminum bottles I've seen
Count me in.
That trick with the die is pretty slick. Nice work.
Very nice.. I was trying to figure out how to roll the edges... I thought I was going to have to machine something to make the roll... Very cool.. Thanks.. Very simple...
I promised to make a few of these for friends...
Now, it's pretty easy to get that done...
Thanks..
Just one word "Genius" thanks for the great tip.
Thanks for the vid. I save a dozen or so bottles in case it took me more than one attempt, but thanks to the vid I nailed it the first time.
Nice !! Love these how to videos. I made one of the x-lite stoves. Had a hell of a time finding aluminum bottles!! Count me in please.
I wasn't sure at first, but I stuck with it. When those jets starting firing, that was impressive. Nice going.
This might be the coolest thing I've ever seen. Count me in.
I agree. Love these sturdy little stoves!
That is a super sweet trick! That rolled over edge looks really great. Thanks for posting.

Really glad to hear that you're enjoying the stove my friend! Thanks again :-)
You're definitely in by the way!
You're very welcome. Really glad to hear that your stove build worked out on the first attempt... good job man :)
Thanks my friend, I really appreciate that. Hope your having a great weekend!
I made this burner today:). I actually used a can crusher I bought at Harbor Freight. I bought it specifically for this burner and it worked perfect.
Good instructional video...I like how you use the car jack as a press. This is the first video on how to make alcohol burner stoves that thought of this that I have seen!
+Raku777 Thanks my friend... glad to hear you liked it! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment btw.
Thanks man, since my brother in law is a drunk, I have the resources for a second job.
The die part was very helpful.
great! faster to make than I thought. I have a press so didn't try a jack. great fun, and it works
Very good video... 👍
Thanks Matt. Hope all's well over your way Brother!
I made one and it works great, It has 16 jet holes and I filed 4 notches in the top to keep the flame from going out.
Used c-clamps and only problem was keeping it straight when compressing it.
Thanks for the how to vid, I know what im giving out for Christmas. LOL
Nice to see the return of the Jenga blocks... :) Thanks for the vid.
Thanks Jeep, I really appreciate that Brother. These stoves are slightly more involved than the good ol' simple penny can type stoves, but the upside is that they're virtually indestructible (less time building replacements, lol).
Hope your weekend's going good man!
Excellent, the whole key in the die. You have to get that right. Count me in!
Oh yeah, can't do a proper DIY project without 'em! ;-)
What an elegant solution. Amazing!
Car Jack ? That's awsome idea!! The result is neat!!!
Nice job on your videos... informative... but not saturated with mindless blathering. Ya got some cool ideas too. Thanks for sharing them.... "Count me in"
