I really enjoyed this. The artwork is great and the story is a fun easy read. Obi-Wan is slowly adjusting to exile on Tatooine, hiding his Jedi identity whilst keeping a watchful eye protecting a very young Luke Skywalker from a a distance. This story has a great balance of personal inner conflict dialogue and action. I love the idea of this being a journal by Obi-Wan that Luke is reading in the present. The pacing of this helped me believe that this was Kenobi’s life between Revenge of The Sith and A New Hope. It didn’t go too overboard with trying to make it too action packed and him going to different planets etc (like the tv series did). I got the sense of him living a quiet life whilst trying to keep Luke safe and when he did help others it was very discreet without giving himself away that he’s the jedi etc and done with sensitivity to the mystery that I got from watching a New Hope. Luke in a New Hope does reference that he’s met Ben before, when he saves Luke from the Sand people he says ‘Ben oh am I glad to see you’. But I always got the impression that Luke had only met him a couple of times and didn’t know much about him. So this comic definitely keeps to that. I agree with a lot of your review of this series. For me overall a very easy and enjoyable read.
