I’m surprised to learn Ewan was the one who asked for Hayden to return for this series, I thought Ewan would’ve forgotten all about him after the Revenge Of The Sith premiere! So heartwarming to hear they’re as close as they were 20 years ago.
@@ytuser_3122 in my eyes, Hayden did his best with what the material he was given in the prequels. He didn't deserved the hate that he got for playing the role. As an actor, he was simply following what the script and the director told him to do. If you have seen Shattered Glass, you know that Hayden has the potential to be a good actor if the material and dialogue for his character was better. This is his moment, it's his comeback. And apparently Ewan is an executive producer of this series so I'm sure he has a big responsibility for the series too, offers what's the best of this series need. Hopefully Hollywood offers him more great scripts to work with, he deserves more great roles than just being in Star Wars
@@800Ms-k6n I have yet to see Shattered Glass and I agree with what you said about him having to work with the material he had, I’m so excited to see him give a good performance under Deborah Chow’s direction and with the material Disney+ has for him!
I’m so happy for Hayden. He seems like such a genuinely nice person. It’s so unfortunately he was treated so poorly by critics and fans in the trilogy. He was so young and had no real experience. It was really wasn’t fair to give him such a hard time when it was the script and writing that really hurt those films. Looking back, he did an really good job, all things considered, especially in Revenge of the the Sith.
With the horrible script, dialogue, and terrible directing we would have needed Al Pacino in his prime to have had a chance pulling off Anakin. And it would have only been a chance.
Agreed on all counts. He was only doing his job. It does my heart so good to see him being celebrated as an actor and a person who brought Anakin to life (and Jake Lloyd did an amazing job as the youngest Anakin!)
As a writer myself I agree completely. The love story between Anakin and Padme was awful, totally unrealistic, not believable in the slightest and just looked fake as hell. Then there was the “I truly deeply love you” after they spend what, ten days together and Padme rebuffs his advances? Who does that?
When Hayden says “I missed you guys too” you can really see he means it and it honestly makes my heart happy. I loved the prequels and I was so hyped watching the first two episodes of this series. I feel as if my childhood had a hole and it was this show all along
@@cashewnuttel9054 generally for an event like this, they wouldn’t bring on the new character/actor that nobody has ever seen before on the screen. It’s all about the legacy of the original two, with it being 20yrs later in real life

This was 11 minutes of constant smiling, bringing back all those memories from childhood. Ewan hasn’t aged a bit, and Hayden looks such a genuine, friendly guy - would love to have a beer with him one day. Really looking forward to seeing them together on the screen again!
Oh my goodness, the smile on Hayden’s face when the crowd was cheering after being asked how hype they were! I’m so glad he’s finally being welcomed and given the love he has always deserved from fans!
And even if somebody still criticized his acting sure it's no problem to do that but put the fingers on George Lucas who gave him a very poor writing and direction to work with. @@800Ms-k6n Anyone who truly thinks Hayden did poorly in those movies because he's a bad actor must also answer this question. Why did stars like Natalie Portman and Samuel L. Jackson also have weird stilted dialogue and bad takes? Because of the script and editing, not their acting.
I like how he had him ask the last bit of the question again just to make sure that line would fit as an answer. Unfortunately it appears it might have been scripted. If it wasn't though then that's some impressive wit. Fitting for his character.

When Ewan said that the prequels were made for a different generation that didn’t have so much of a voice, I felt that. My self and countless others were that generation, I remember going to see all three episodes at the movies. I especially remember going to the midnight release of Episode III with my toy Anakin Skywalker lightsaber, the theater was absolutely packed! We had gotten there 1 hour early, just to get seats. I never even knew that Hayden received so much hate for his role as Anakin until about few years ago and it baffled me. To me and many others, he is Anakin, just as Ewan is Obi-Wan. I’m overjoyed that the duo is back together making Star Wars again
Yep, one of the first movies I saw in theaters was Phantom Menace. I still remember being blown away by the pod race scene and then when Obi cut Maul in half I gasped . Loved it.
I'm sad to say I think it was the original trilogy "fans" that loaded the hate onto him :-( That was my generation .... but I saw the prequels as an adult and loved them, I ignored all that stuff. I am very relieved to see that time is showing the love he deserves. I think he was a great Anakin.

@@crab6503 Completely agree!!

This whole thing just warmed my heart, especially after how Ahmed Best (Jar-Jar) told his story of how he almost took his own life over all the hate and Hayden nearly gave up on acting.
100% agree with you. I don’t understand how people can be so hateful.
For sure. So glad the love shined through. Everyone did fantastic with those films!
wait jar jar almost kill himself that sad bro
May the Schwartz be with you all.
Hayden and Ewan made Revenge of the Sith my favourite SW movie. Seeing then return makes me so indescribably happy. Hopefully this series turns out to be epic like RotS
4:24 was so awesome. Finally he was able to see the love we fans have for him!
when he said the iconic line "This is where the fun begins" it actually felt that my childhood flashed before my eyes. Anakin is my favorite character and it blew my mind as a kid to see him become Darth Vader.
I love Hayden as Anikin. When he said that it made me want to watch the prequels again
I literally almost cried on “THIS IS WHERE THE FUN BEGINS”. I’m so happy these guys reunited for another story. I am 20 years old and I feel like 7 again!!!
Me too!!!! 2000 baby
@@AyeCee1700 how are you 20 years old but born in 2000??
@@cooperhine1337 🤦♂️
Hayden after watching clone wars and rebels“and now I’m a fan now too” . IN-CREDIBLE 🥺🤩
Hayden is such a rockstar. He knew that line was gonna make the place implode!
I’ve always liked Hayden as Anakin and Vader despite all the hate which I never understood since he was following the script. I’m glad that he’s back and he’s finally getting the respect and roses that he rightfully deserve
Cause people are idiots lol. Really dont get it
