Listen to the credits for a "deleted scene"! You can hear alternate lines for Owen Lars that we considered including to tie into the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Ultimately, we decided against using them due to pacing, and since the comic doesn't really contradict the show in any way and works fine without it.
The comic contradicts the shit out of the show, lol. Obi Wan said he had never picked up a lightsaber in years at the beginning, and he was effortlessly using the force, and Luke appears to be about ten years old, like in the show. The fact that he is using the force means the events of the show had already taken place, but it doesn't make sense because he had picked up a lightsaber during the events of Kenobi. Also, the show takes place in roughly this same time period, yet Owen and Beru look like the OG trilogy Owen and Beru, but in the show, they look look like prequel trilogy Owen and Beru. Also, show Luke looks nothing like comic Luke. As soon as they made the show, the Journals of Obi Wan make zero sense continuity-wise. That being said, good job, as always, but Lucasfilm fucked up...again.
@@thedefamationleague Meh, I think it could still work, I just imagine this happening about 2-3 years after the show, so it's been some time since he last held a lightsaber. Sure, you have to suspend your disbelief a bit, but it works rather well in my mind
@@ML_Vanilla If it was 2-3 years after the show, Luke would look like a teenager, not a young child. Luke in the comics and show appear to be different kids of the same age. Also, I don't have to suspend shit. Disney/Disney-controlled Lucasfilm clearly doesn't give a crap about continuity and clearly only care about pushing agendas. I'm done giving them the benefit of the doubt.
All you need to do is apply to the shill program and Dave will explain everything to you. This story happens between Luke meeting Obi Wan and Obi Wan meeting up with his Force Ghost friend and master for his training. These were written to be a direct reference or adaptation of the movies or stories. They were written for entertainment purposes. If you take everything as if it plays out in your expectations, you’re setting up for disappointment. LucasFilm doesn’t have to explain “eh we left a whole comic series out" for *your* convenience. @@obviouslysub-dude9082why are you making excuses for the communists at Lucasfilm? Are you a democrat or something? Also, they marketed these comics as being canon. They did not market them as "What if" stories.
This was incredible. The voice actors were the best part by far. Obi Wan in particular, of course. A real blend of Alex and Euan. Well done everyone involved with this masterpiece.
This is what season 2 would've been if they decided to do it. It fits between meeting Luke and Qui Gon appearing at the end. It also works without this if you don't read the comics. We got a special treat. They got Leia.
@@DarthTeaDious lies lies fixing ties. they dont care what the fans wanna see all they care about is give us not what we want and put money in their own pockets
Given Obi-Wan's outfit, the fact that his lightsaber is not buried, and the fact that he got that hut instead of living in a cave, I'm pretty sure this takes place after the show.
@@DCUniverse816 I don't know. I mean, you seen what he wore at the end of the show. Where do you think they got the idea for that outfit from? I wouldn't be surprised if when they make a comic book adaptation of the show, they show it like Luke is reading another of Obi-Wan's journals depicting that story after ROTJ. Maybe have Leia read with him.
It's hard to believe that it will be 10 years next year, since The Journals of Obi-Wan-Kenobi comic hit the bookshelves. Young Luke had and evil grin on his face, when the two thugs confronted him. The second story looked a little weird, like they actual people to create that comic. About 10 years before the events of The Phantom Meance, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan went on a mission to Kashyyyk. It was there that Qui-Gon got captured while walking around the forest, Obi-Wan teamed up with Chewbacca and a few wookies and went to save his master. It turned out that was a test for Obi-Wan to see what he could do on his own. Obi-Wan and Chewbacca meet again 40 years later in the Mos Eisly cantina during Episode 4: A New Hope, but they don't remember each other.
When you realize that it was Luke that got his uncle and aunt killed and caused them more pain and suffering than obi wan did I wonder how much the story would've changed if Luke had left with obi wan to train at the age of 6
This is likely what season 2 would've been. It fits between meeting Luke and Qui Gon appearing at the end. It also works without this. What Reva did wards Vader off a few more years.
@@DarthTeaDious I still think the show should've been written like the comic. Bringing in the Empire and Leia's kidnapping took away what should've been small scale stakes.

Great job with the video and voices as always. (Anyone else think this comic was a bit strange? Obi wan looked super weird and he had some funny dialogue.)
He was one farmer on a small world who had lived there all his life. And every time a Jedi came one of his family got killed or taken away. What conclusions are there to draw? But yeah, Owen was a hard-headed ass sometimes. But as we see here, even hard-headed farmers have soft spots foe family.

By any chance have you done the comics relating to General Grievous as origin? 🤔
If you want real version of this listen to the audiobook “kenobi “ before scum Disney took over
Luke doesn’t even look the same throughout the comic , trash
Horrible writing
Okay let's read yours.
Luke comes across as a little brat in this . Bad.
