And if you notice, he didn't spend any time in that letter degrading his daughter or telling her anything she is doing wrong or could be doing better. He simply took the time to try to model behavior he would like for his children to adopt for themselves, which is appreciation. I almost wish my dad would have written me a letter like this when I was her age because I believe there's something truly special going on here. The girl is being enlightened to who her mother truly is. And that's incredible. Now she'll recognize there's a complex person with many lifetimes of experience behind who she used to think was just 'mom'. This could do wonders for their relationship going into the future.

Been a huge Jocko fan for a long time now and I have to say this might be one of the most powerful and awe inspiring videos yet. It’s truly incredible to listen to a man like Jocko talk about his wife with such love and respect. That sort of thing is so rare these days. I would love to see her on the podcast, the world needs more women with values and morals and just like Jocko inspires and motivates young men maybe his wife could be a light to young girls looking to follow her example.
