To the doomsayer's credit, it is net positive and beneficial for devs to make their Gacha Games solely revolve around their newly released strongest OP character and have their entire paycheck paid by ensnared whales. In fact I'm sure 90% of gacha games in existence has done that, albeit their untimely demise, at least saw them from the catalogues reviewed by Chendrosee. We are LUCKY to have HG not be these typical penny pinching cartoonish schemer that only sees short term profit.
I think pmuch all of the gachas that are accepted as good actually allow you to deal with majority of the content without top tier newest units? I'm not sure about state of balance in hoyo games since I don't play them

Still I wouldn't consider that game balanced and they kinda trapped themselves into accelerating powercreep due to how awful the endgame modes are.
I've seen whining that the IS5 is too complicated without Wis...just like I've seen whining that it's too easy with her 🤦♂ As far as I'm concerned, people just don't want to think...
Frankly I'm considering taking her as my first guard ticket because she has some practical applications over my other guards in the early game TLDR yep

my friend started a cn account a couple of months ago, didn't really play/login everyday (casually playing) and the only 6* that were e2 is thorns while he has gladiia n ulpianus at e1 max, i manage to get to the boss (ending1), on the way i got ridiculous relics, borrowed a yato alter from support, got a free m9 dorothy. i didn't need walter... at least not for low difficulty, the collectibles in is5 are ridiculously powerful. I found a collectible thay gives +5% atk dmg for each 思绪 (runes?) and my e1 ulpianus has 7k attack damage with s2, E1 ULPIANUS
@@DrSilvergun movement rune is 思绪-构想. so the relic I got was for every 思绪, which means EVERY single rune that is in my bag. i was carrying like 10 so it's 50%. but yeah this pales when compared to others like +30% HP n Atk when fighting boss/dreadful foe. There's probably a lot of broken shit. Kings Collectible are very easy to trigger now, being able to refresh Nodes to avoid emergency. IS5 is definitely a breathe of fresh air.
the thing with is5 is that it uses a LOT of reborn creations(from what i heard), meaning wisadel with her super high attack+scaling makes it significantly easier and leading to the whole 'wisadel makes is5 too easy' argument(which is. kinda true lmao) meanwhile, quartz...also has high attack so. if hg really was balancing is5 around wisadel, then she accidentally won! (kinda (update: i forgot how damage reduction works in this game mb)
1. High ATK has no particular advantage against reborns they have Damage reduction not DEF 2. The thing with W is that there isn't and can't be content for which she isn't the best possible choice unless you outright ban snipers/ranged tiles.

Enemies are overstated, which is kinda boring difficulty spike that can be dealt with but in no fun way, and means real low physical attack units can't play versus those stages because they're directly horrible match ups. I much more prefer them doing different gimmicky nonsense like back with Arturia event and the Witch King. Give me a 50 page essay on a normal mob's skills, I want to see nonsense over boring nonsense. ;D
