I converted my 996 C2 to a 997 C2 front end. Using ONLY Porsche parts. No Bodykit or “conversion” fenders/bumper. I call it a 996.7
Tutorial please
Which kind of lights did you use? I just bought morimoto 997 headlights for my 996 as I am planning on doing the same but I am kind of worried they won't work
I used OEM lights from a turbo.
I’ve never had my hands on the morimoto lights, but I was thinking about getting a pair as I’m not afraid to make another wiring harness for this car if need be.
@@erikrummel6277 do you have photos or a build thrrad in a forum? I will let you know how it goes with the morimoto 👍👍👍
Love it, I like the 997 front and the 996 rear. If you can make those work together it will be a winner.
At first glance i was skeptical, but it wasn’t long before i really started to appreciate this look.
I mean how many people can say they have a hybrid porsche. Very unique!!
Thats a cool conversion i could live with it keep bringing us good porsche content trev
Meeh no. 996 is officially an icon now. Because I said it.
Now serious,
after the 993 there was the 996. And you see it. The 997 is a much more modern and complex car. 996 is
bone simple, with cutting corners and costs in the interior department and yes the headlamps. But so was the company at the time. The 996 is the groundbreaking transitional model between the last facelift of a 1960s car and the 21st century. And it deserves to be recognised.
Edit: But you do you. It‘s your car, do anything that makes you enjoy it.
Edit2: This is done rather tastefully, doesnt look like a botched 997. More like a 996.3 that never was. Wheels are a tad to tad too big and the front is a bit too busy but nothing to cry about.
What are those 'pinches' in the lower front bumper, it looks like it's been forced to fit when really it doesn't
Cool, back in the day early longhoods were updated to look like a 964 or a Carrera. If I had a 996 probably wouldn't do this unless the front was wrecked. Have fun with it!
I love it, hate the wheels tough😅
Love it!
❤😂😢😮😅😊😊 I don’t care if it’s a 997 front end or a 996 I like them all like I said take care Trevor you have a good week and keep up the awesome damn good videos
I like it but I’d want one or the other and I’d want a 997. I’d struggle with the fit and finish, especially where the wings join up to the front sill. Seems to be a big step. Like a poorly assembled airfix model.
It's the aero kit. It wasn't modified to fit.
Original is always best.
❤😂🎉😢😮😮😅😅😊😊😊😊 Trevor when he gets out of town he should let the Porsche rip like they’re supposed to do you guys treat your Porsche like a baby oh well that’s the way you’re supposed to. I guess to make it last a long time but they’re made to run hard keep up the good videos, bro have a good week. Take care.
❤😂🎉🎉😢😮😅😅😅😊😊😊 Trevor I hope you had a good time with your mom for Mother’s Day. I had a good time with mine today even though she was sick so I helped her out and keep up the good work with the Porsche videos. I love your videos, especially with the coffee and car show walking around with all those awesome Porsches and leave the other cars behind the Porsches up front, take care peace, my brother have a good week
❤😂😢🎉🎉🎉🎉😢😮😮😮😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 I don’t care if it’s at 997 or 991 or 992 or 993. I love all of the Porsches. That’s why they say there’s no substitute but Porsche and that’s what they’re made for to rip down the track and on the freeway, and on the streets.
I am not a fan tbh. Plus, there is nothing wrong with 996s look :>
Pretty car, but why? Nobody talked about the hp difference between the 996.1 and the 997.1. Why? And it would be nice to see it on a country road. I'm subscribed and mostly like your content.
40 hp?
Porsche is one of those brands where you dont need to alter or change anything.
As an 02 3.2 liter Boxster S owner I'd have to respectfully disagree with the conversion. I personally have the polyurethane 997 GT3 front bumper which keeps the "Original" headlamps and it looks so clean imo...
The so called "fried egg" headlamps are aging well and they really do look sleek, especially if you get the aftermarket clear lenses. I mean just look at the Porsche GT1 Lemans car with the same headlamps and its hard to deny how good looking (probably the best) Porsche race car ever.
Imo of course! 😂
❤😂😂😢😢😮😮😅😊😊😊 what like that Porsche roll fast I would if I had it I don’t baby my car like that in the rain. I mashed the gas.
I'd definitely do this. The 996 is fugly.
wild but i dont get why people hate the 996 so much the only thing thats hatable is the interior but thats it. the headlight work so well on it because its more angular than previous and futiure 911's. you see when people put those light covers on it looks like a gogs anus!! the 997 is a curvier more sensual shape so the round light suit it but i think the 996 is one or the best looking 911's next to the 993. this is cool but it couldnt be cheap. great fit and finish though nice work. cheers
Nah kinda silly to be honest. However whatever makes u happy👌
Aaarrrgggghhhhh 🫣.... Can I buy it to rescue it 😂
Not me
🤣🤣🤣🤣 what a mess
Why?? Its just wrong init....just buy a 997 buddy
Cuz the 997 is much more expensive?
Probably...each to thier own..along as he is happy 😊
992!
That spoiler is gash mate sorry just my opinion.
It’s wasaaay to try hard and doubt its functionality on effectively a base carrera
It’s a factory aero kit spoiler, they cost a fortune.
@@rossbethell4187people pay for that?
They should be paying him
thats one way to RUIN a Porsche!
😐
For me totally no but everybody have his one thought
