  • My first drive of the 2017 Dodge Challenger T/A 392! So What is better , SRT or T/A? How fast is the 2017 Dodge Challenger TA 392? Challenger TA Review. Does it seem fast coming from a Hellcat? Watch the review to see! 0-60 test, launch, and hard acceleration and driving hard! In depth review of this american muscle car! Inspired from the 1970 Challenger TA. This is a great car build quality and performance are top notch. The V8 Hemi engine sounds great! Completely difference characteristics than the srt hellcat, 485 horsepower is plenty for everyday use! The suspension is on point and feels great!

In 1975, I drove a 1970 Challenger R/T SE 440 Six Pack. The car had the big Goodyear Polyglas E60-15 tires, four speed, and did have power steering. Let me tell you, the car was a hand full. You really feel that 390 horsepower in your seat and it’s like it invades your soul. The car was not comfortable at all really but not bad. But for a five year old, it was a rattle trap. Doors would dip down hanging from their hinges! The doors were very heavy and they had hinge problems back then. Paint was not looking good at that point, B5 Blue, white interior, white top. Beautiful car when brand new. I kick myself to this day for NOT buying that car. But I was $400 short, and bought a 1970 Roadrunner 383 Magnum, Auto. FC7 In Violet, and black interior.
The Roadrunner was in much better shape and I had that car till 1980 along with a 1969 Charger and 1968 440 Dodge Dart. Also had a 1970 Plymouth 383 Cuda in the mid 1980’s. Wish I still had every last one of them today. I now own a 2015 Challenger SRT392 and love that car. But I can tell you first hand. It feels and sounds nothing like the Challenger of Old, not even close. It does however, look a lot like the old school Challenger. And you still know you are driving American Muscle, even if it’s built In Canada, but who cares.
The New Challenger is so much better in so many ways. I plan on keeping my Challenger and handing it over to a family member years from now.

    Screw break in lol..
From my experience coming from a gen 6 camaro 2ss, the scatpack 392 has the more satisfying torquey pull at wot throughout the powerband in every gear. It feels faster (sotp) but is pretty much even vs the camaro from a roll and edge to SS from a dig with it's better traction. The camaro handles way better but comes with a cramped feeling interior and terrible visibility.
From my experience the the A8 392 dynos 400-420 typically.
Your 0-60 will also be a little slower with that 200+lbs passenger..

Not quite, the TA also has the Hellcat airbox with a true CAI and two headlight air inlets instead of one, as well as a functional ram air hood scoop, and the car sits slightly lower than a Scat Pack. Other than that the differences are mostly cosmetic

Really? I have owned both. The Camaro completely out performs the Dodge in every way. Performance, Chevrolet is the best by far. Now comfort and practically the Challenger wins. They came close with the 2010 camaro, but it was still more of a modern car than a retro throwback. It is entirely possible for the car to keep all of its modern characteristics that make it outperform the competition, while having the looks from the old days. Driveway Demons Haha! No, I don't work for Dodge. I'm a life long car enthusiast with some derelict dreams, like 4 speed 69 roadrunner sitting in garage. However, dollar for dollar, I've entered the Hellcat universe and have never looked back! Even traded a 2004 Viper for my PlumCrazy Charger Hellcat.😄 I'm finding myself informing Dodge dealer about the products they are selling & why they're great!😉

SRT all the way! I dig the homage to the trans-am and all -- but this car is what another person said, a skatpak same deal.. different wraps and badging no different by no means is this an SRT.

I feel bad for people who buy these cars after they've been ripped hard for a review while they are still well within the break in period. Not supposed to rip on these until 500 miles and it's incremental steps. First 100 miles is 55mph 3500 rpm max.

Now, I have to figure out what supercharger to go with. I'm stuck between a ProCharger or Whipple. Trying to figure out the pros and cons right now. Also, trying to figure out what all needs to be upgraded if I do so.

They're 9.5 in wheels by the way not 9, and you can't compare the charger to a bmw unless you're just counting doors..also fyi the charger is more aerodynamic and has more top end than the challenger but both are badass cars either way.
