  • Make your own sunflower seed butter in minutes!
    All you need is..
8oz Roasted Unsalted Sunflower Seeds (227g)
1 tbsp honey (more or less to taste)
1 tbsp coconut oil (any oil may work)
    pinch of salt (to taste)
Put just the seeds in your food processor and pulse a few times to get the started. Then run for about a minute.
Scrape down the kids and processed again. Do this a few times until ball starts to form.
At this point add the honey, salt and oil.
Let it run for until it reaches your desired smoothness!
Transfer to a saved peanut butter jar and viola!
Your very own homemade sunflower butter!

Did you grind 🌻 seeds with its outer shell or removing it?

Does it stay creamy or does it solidify a little bit? And do you store it in the fridge?

I swear, I have almost this same video! lol... amazing how that happens! I couldn't get mine as creamy though, and I'm wondering if it is because I have a Ninja and not a real processor? Awesome video!

I really want a regular food processor too, because it's really hard to add ingredients as you are blending. Whereas, if I had the one with a hole at the top, I could add while processing :)

I wanted to try to make sunflower seeds butter. My husband is allergic to peanuts and the seeded brands are very expensive. How much coconut oil did you use? Thanks for sharing

this looks DELICIOUS!! I'm vegan though, so is there something else I can add besides honey to make it more sweet. maybe maple syrup?

    • @Candeerose3
      @Candeerose3 8 років тому +2

+John Pruden I add 1 to 2 dates to mine depending on how much I make. I have also used pure maple syrup. Sometimes I'll add cinnamon to a batch to give me a variety of flavored butters.

I mean, sunflower seeds are tasty when eaten whole, but when I make butter out of them, I almost gag. Help :-[

You can use sunflower oil to make it healthier. Coconut oil is high in saturated fats. What you want is to preserve the health benefits of sunflower seeds so go with sunflower oil.
