dude, this is the peak of what im looking for a fragrance review, covers every single aspect in depth, you will come a long way with this idea, good luck and heres a sub, thanks for the infos
i tried this at the perfume counter and wore it all day. I did not expect to fall in love with it. I went back and purchased it the next week. Its a warm and seductive fragrance without being overbearing…. just lovely.❤❤
Cg, you mentioned here that your fall reach is Naxos. Classic elegant frag. Love it. Two words though: Pavillon Rouge. This fragrance from Jovoy is probably my favourite boozy tobacco fragrance by a huge margin. It smells like actual tobacco, actual booze, actual ebony wood. It's the most natural smelling masculine fragrance. Masculine like a walk-in humidor, and the finest whisky, and the smell of old wood in a beautifully adorned study from the 1700's and 1800's, with elegant carved beautiful wood everywhere. So gentlemanly, but assertively masculine as well. It's something Ernest Hemingway would wear. I'm looking to grab a decant of Grand Soir for the autumn. Of course I had to spread the good gospel about Pavillon Rouge as I am want to do. It is so lovely and I'm wearing it now. It has a touch of that Psychedelique patchouli as well. Not sure if they list that but my god. PdM would go out of business if people knew about fragrances like these.
the first time ti tried Grand Soir i didnt quite get how special it really is, then i got the chance to smell Clive Christian Blonde Amber in a store and loved it, but somehow knew i had smelled the same thing almos equal only slightly better, and it was Grand Soir, both are very close, but for me Grand Soir is just slightly better. and since then I wear it as a signature perfume in fall, winter and spring. its Not my Summer perfume, I think i may try out Naxos for summer given its fresh notes.
I found an “inspired by” one of these by sheer accident the other day. I have not smelled the real one but this one I found is sooooo moreish. It’s amazing 🤩
Grand soir because of versatility I feel angels share is more Christmas and winter where grand soir works fall, winter, and more casually (not as gourmand more a versatile vanilla amber). Both are great tho.
This MFK fragrance is a hit and miss for me, it has the smooth sweet vanilla amber mixed with cozy spices that are beautiful, however it also has this sharp annoyance to it like lavender or maybe Petitgrain.
It’s interesting how it can be such a hit and miss for both of us. I can’t think of many others that I feel so conflicted about. Smells amazing but is pretty linear. I know that sharp smell you’re talking about I get that mostly until the deep dry down.
That’s kinda hard because Grand Soir performs a ton better and I got bored of tuxedo and sold it. I’d say grand soir. There’s a ton of good tuxedo alternatives I actually like Moustache more it’s more interesting and lasts longer there isn’t a substitute for grand soir and it truly is beast mode on performance. For scent alone prolly tuxedo. The bourbon vanilla is really nice on that one it’s less linear.
I’d also add many find tuxedo super formal. I don’t get that at all but a lot do. For a lot of people grand soir is far more versatile. Grand soir for the win IMO.
@@lafayettewatts7805 If I may. Bx the two I would probably go with Tuxedo as it’s just more wearable for my skin chemistry. Grand Soir is way too shouty and the sharpness of it comes out too much. BUT on the other hand no one would smell Tuxedo on me, other than myself 😂
