When I consumed fragrance content it got frustrating with all the list it’s hard to know what’s sincere and what isn’t also with all the links in the description. There really is only 29 I consider top for the winter and people can use them however they feel is best.
Really enjoying this channel. Please keep making fragrance content. Also I love Alexandria II. It does well on my skin. Carlisle is definitely one of my favorites from PDM.
Love your channel and these seasonal fragrance lists, especially. I have sampled a lot of your favorites now . All very interesting, glad to try them and a lot will turn into full bottles.
Great list!. Do you have any plans on making any "inspired by" lists? I found Alexandria Fragrances to have a wide range of inspirations that are well received in fragrantica. I have already 4 fragrances from them and I live them so far.
I’m planning on doing a blindfold side by side comparison with my wife and her cousin. All 3 of us will compare the OG to inspiration blind folded and say which we prefer. I’m starting with Montagne I got 19 samples coming in I got off Reddit. I dunno how ill get Alexandria samples the not accepting free bottles makes it hard like I don’t want to buy 20 fragrances for one video but I’m gonna try to figure out if I can do this with other brands.
That’s hard I can’t think of anything that directly smell like cinnamon roll oddly. On gourmand I think Angels Share or Oajan get closest but it’s more apple pie and they’re pretty sweet. For cinnamon style holiday scents there’s: Halfeti Musc Ravageur Spicebomb Carlisle and Royal Tobacco have a cinnamon style but are more grown and really far from a cinnamon roll. My favorite gourmand is Lira because to me it’s not overly sweet and is oddly fresh. That’s a lemon cake tho but it’s REALLY well done IMO. Only issue is it’s feminine but it’s so good I still wear it lol.
I Overspray Royal Tobacco. I Absolutely Love It. Gucci Intense Oud Is My Second Most Complimented Cologne. I've Received So Many, In Fact, That I Bought a Second Bottle. I Also Like Babycat. Fortunately, Thanks to Discounts, I Got My Bottle for $230!
Love this video, been really loving amouage fragrances recently after having a few other more mass pleasing niche. I just got King Blue and Interlude Black Iris after having samples for a while, and am getting royal tobacco next. I agree that the polarizing effect of amouage fragrances at first makes me like them more in the long run. They are masterfully made. I really want to try more challenging and artistic fragrances from now on.
We’re after the same Amouage fragrances. I am heavily considering getting royal tobacco I have a 10ml but I’m running through it lol. It’s amazing how much positive feedback it gets. My wife doesn’t like it on paper but she loves when I wear it and how it is in the air.
I think a lot of niche brands design their scents to smell good on the test strip because that’s what sells people. I think Amouage actually considers how it smells in the air more.
My winter list, and by that I mean perfumes that work when it's below freezing outside and the air indoors is very dry: Akro Awake, Chanel Paris-Edimbourg, Lalique Encre Noire, Pineward Brokilän, Pineward White Fir, Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles, Serge Lutens Five O'Clock au Gingembre.

This and Alexandria II my staples this winter. I have about 10-11 off this list but love that Xerjoff and Alexandria II. and yes, the part you dont like Im obsessed with, powdery oud and rose combo in A.II..both awesome to me.
What a great video. I am a blind buyer so I rely on people like you that seem to have similar tastes to mine. I have bought quite a few of your recommendations…….you have piqued my interest in King Blue.
King blue is very polarizing I’m all for blind buying but that’s prolly the least blind buy safe fragrance ever. A certain percentage of people can’t do it at all lol. Decantx has king blue in stock which is where I sampled it. It’s definitely worth trying. To me it’s easy to like same with my wife but if you watch seldomly often (UA-cam channel) take on it you’ll see what I mean. The animalic notes seem to be subjectively interpreted I don’t detect them much but to some people it’s overwhelming.
Great vid, and great channel! So I have a question about Ombre Nomade. Do you have a full bottle of it, and if so, is it semi-new? Because I was thinking about getting a bottle, and when I went to the LV store to try it out, it wasn’t beast mode at all. It was a decent performer for sure, but nothing even remotely overwhelming. But they also gave me a sample to take home, and when I tried it out (one spray from the small sample bottle) the whole house smelled of it. I also saw someone on Fragrantica express the exact same scenario. So I’m wondering if LV is kind of shady and amps up the performance of their samples, and then tones down the juice in the bottles a bit… Any ideas?
Honestly a good question. I can’t be certain what they do but I’ll tell you there’s been many times I wore ombré Nomade and thought it wasn’t strong because I go nose blind inconsistently and rapidly. Sometimes it chokes me out with strength other times I can barely tell I put it on and will reapply. But what I will tell you is even when I can’t smell it everyone around me can, even after I’ve left the room. I got humbled to ombré Nomade when I sprayed a friend of mine with a sample and 1 spritz exploded the room. Nose blindness can be inconsistent it’s weird. I doubt the LV bottles are weak it could be true but I’m willing to bet they’d make their testers and samples strong if they were doing that with the retail being weakened.
I actually wore ombré Nomade yesterday I thought “this isn’t that strong” felt light and I kinda liked it more because it wasn’t so thick. My coworkers let me know tho I was fumigating the place.
An idea is that the sample has a weak sprayer so perhaps your olfactory system isn’t being overwhelmed and shutting down the scent as fast. Like a spray out of the LV atomizer might be SO strong your system shuts it down. I’d try a light spritz out the LV bottle to test that theory.
I really appreciate the responses!! It’s definitely interesting, because I actually went nose blind from the sample. It wasn’t until my family told me that they could smell it from the other side of the house, that I realized how strong it was 😆 What I might do is just try one spray from a store bottle again, and see what people think. It’s a great point that you made that you would THINK that if LV were making the samples extra strong, then it would only make sense for them to do the same thing for the testers. Although I also know they have that whole deal where you can bring in your empty bottle and get it refilled in-store for around half off, and maybe they refill the tester bottles with the regular juice instead of pulling out a new bottle? Tough to know. I’m definitely in the same boat as you in regards to overbearing performance. To me, if a fragrance is a massive projector, it can get to a point where it’s not enjoyable. I also hate the idea of being “the cologne guy” off of ONE SPRITZ lol. It’s a shame though, because I absolutely love the smell of Ombre Nomade. But I’ve just been hesitant to pull the trigger on an almost $500 fragrance that might be a bit too cloying for people. Man, if there was ever a fragrance that needed to be reformulated, this might be it haha!
@ ombré Nomade is one where a 10-30ml decant is basically a bottle so I stick with that usually. I got one from a trusted member of the Fragrance Marketplace Facebook group. I did the same with Amouage royal tobacco and Megamare. That’s one of the good things about atomic fragrances you don’t really need a full bottle right away a decant can get you by long enough to decide if it’s worth investing in a bottle down the road.
I already bought alexandria 2, in the store smelt amazing, but for some reason on me it’s just good. Now i am thinking buying Amouage interlude black iris or penhaligon halfeti.
I love interlude black Iris. I got bored with Halfeti but it’s a lot easier to wear. Those two choices are pretty far apart. I feel on a blind buy halfeti is a lot safer. Interlude black Iris is such a 🐐 fragrance tho. I don’t really care for interlude or interlude 53 I get kinda bothered by the oregano but the black Iris hits perfect for me.
@ i had decant and for sure black iris is the best interlude version. Smells amazing, mysterious and powerful. I imagine myself wearing Batman suit and watching over gotham city from over skyscraper on chilling night. Anyway, I have a question for you not on topic though 😅. I’m graduating university in the summer as an md. I am 25 years old. What is your Fragrance recommendations for the graduation ceremony.
@ Dior Ambre Nuit is my special occassion fragrance. It just smells so special to me it’s clean, classy, ambery. I even wear it to more low key special occasions like my wife is having a baby shower at her job tomorrow and I’m wearing Ambre Nuit. I don’t think it’s weather or age restrictive. Some people don’t like it but it’s my main recommendation. I would have worn it to my wedding if I knew about it.

Also wanna say my I’ve been in the frag community prob like 5 years now. Gucci is my favorite designer brand for 2 reasons and maybe 3… first they seemed to be the house who pushed boundaries back in the day and took more chances… secondly gucci guilty absolute when I discovered this off a 10 mL decant this changed my entire perspective of fragrance. And 3rd I recently discovered Bentley for men absolute and after probably 2 days I had decided finally I have found my winter sig scent. Which this fragrance is a basic remake under a different brand the same perfumer that created gucci pour homme I and from what everyone says it smells the same! I can’t say for sure bc I’ve never smelled it but gucci is my shiz mane
I love Gucci. You’re right about guilty absolute it’s a masterpiece. I’ve done a video comparing the Bentley to GPH I when I had both and it’s so close I sold my GPH. Bentley Absolute could easily be my signature it’s a great scent. The Envy of FOMO is a remake of Gucci Envy that’s also super close, sold my envy. Gucci has made some really iconic fragrances.
@@alexjones6299 I need to sit with DHP more but to me it’s a very smooth powdery scent with undertones of leather. I felt DHI was more woody and not as powdery. I have a bottle of DHP and plan to wear it heavy before I review it.
I find all of the Amouage fragrances I referenced more objectively challenging than DHP based on data and what I’ve read. That being said, I personally struggled more with DHP because of the powdery posh vibes it has given me. I still love DHP and find it very suitable for winter but so far I prefer DHI.
I’d prolly get a lot of hate for this but I like wearing CDNI LE to work. It’s reasonably priced and it’s my most complimented fragrance by a landslide. It’s a bit synthetic but to tell the truth I’ve worn it so much I can’t even smell it anymore to me it’s a $70 fragrance that everyone around me loves. In cooler months I enjoy Naxos or Layton at work. They’re different enough while being easy to understand. I sometimes like an oddball at work when I’m feeling confident tho. I been wearing interlude 53 to work the past few days and it’s liberating. It’s nice to not care what other people think and just enjoy what I’m wearing. This isn’t a daily thing but it’s a nice break from crowd pleasers. It’s also really cool when they get complimented by coworkers. I’ve gotten a compliment on interlude 53 and silver Oud in the past few weeks it’s more rewarding than a Layton compliment lol.
Thank you very much for your response. I apologize if I seem overwhelming, but I would appreciate your recommendations for spring and summer as well. I also wanted to mention that I absolutely love Layton and am currently saving to purchase it. Additionally, I plan to revisit Naxos and, after hearing numerous positive reviews, I am definitely planning to buy CDNI LE. I truly appreciate your insights.
@ it’s very subjective but given your style preferences I feel safe recommending Montagne imaginary for spring and summer. It’s kinda hard to get because they run out of stock quite a bit but it’s a great fragrance and worth the wait. It’s an LV Imagination clone that’s pretty close for me it’s a fresher version of the DNA that doesn’t kill the bank. That paired with CDNI LE and Layton you’d be good to go year round IMO.
You know what most people recommend clean for work but I don’t know why it doesn’t sit right with me like today I’m wearing Gucci intense Oud in my collection I have Hermes Vetiver, Guerlain l homme ideal, Ganymede, cafe chantant by nobile, amore caffe, DHI, ambre precieux, bois imperial I don’t mind fresh at work but rather closer to spring/summer but worn Gucci intense Oud a few times and people love it I’m thinking more darker/journey type scents for winter
@ I love Gucci Intense Oud. I have so many backup bottles of it. For the price it’s hard to beat. You may like Fahrenheit Le Parfum I always feel that’s an underrated gem. I’ve been getting really into interlude lately but it took a while for it to grow on me a very turbulent relationship lol now I love it. I’m much more into darker scents my collection reflects that for sure. I tend towards green Irish tweed or The Noir 29 in the spring and imaginary or vibrato in high heat summer. Not my favorite times of year for fragrance options.
If you like dried fruit boozy vibe but not too sweet you might like clive christian Blonde Amber? it is very heft in price so maybe not the best bang for the buck
Fan Your Flames has all the ingredients I should like, but there's a synthetic sweetness to it that ruins it for me. I really wanted to like it, but for me it's another Nishane disappointment.
Ya I’m not the biggest fan I think it’s worth trying it’s unique and not another amber vanilla disappointment. I just don’t do good with coconut the only coconut fragrance I’ve liked is Virgin Island Water.
@@CgScents FYF is definitely unique yet mass appealing. But too synthetic for me. Virgin Island Water is one that I also wanted to like but it wasn't for me. Not a fan of Creed anyway.
@@WhistleLad I’m possibly tobacco retarded but I don’t really connect Herod to tobacco. I don’t get tobacco from Naxos or spicebomb. Could be I’m blind to certain aromatics. I’m certain that strong connection exist for a lot of people. If I think tobacco while I smell Herod I kinda get that it’s there but I mostly get a spicy smooth vanilla cherry scent. I do get tobacco from royal tobacco tho for sure. Instant connection.

@@WhistleLad it’s prolly the leaf now that I think about it. I always think of the smoke smell or like the smell of cigars. I oddly associate creed royal Oud with a ‘tobacco’ scent because the way that cedar wood is on the dry down reminds me of a cigar. That note just throws me off a lot. I try to give a big picture of what I get from something and focus less on notes but there is a communication barrier with things like tobacco for sure.

Journey man is a sleeper. Surprised it never got hyped
I wish I loved Royal Tobacco but I just could not. Got a fennel note in there (for me) that I just could not agree with
If you like dried fruit boozy vibe but not too sweet you might like clive christian Blonde Amber? it is very heft in price so maybe not the best bang for the buck
I haven’t tried any Clive Christian surprisingly. I’ve tried a lot but never went after those. I’m gonna eventually get to reviewing that house.
@@CgScents Looking forward to it!
It sucks that I live in Louisiana and can only use these 3 days a year
I’m in Texas I feel your pain lol. I still wear and enjoy them 70 degrees or lower. I’m crazy.
@@CgScentslol nice. Some aren’t as heavy so it can be done.
🎉😊❤
Talks about Herod, doesn’t even mention the tobacco.
How.
@@WhistleLad what’s weirder is I’ve used a lot of tobacco lol.
@@CgScents smells like a cigar marinated in cherry vanilla juice. Just the tobacco leaf, no smoke.
Sniff a few cigars or even some backwoods and it’s just like them.
One of the best fragrances ever.
I trust ur nose bro
There is no such thing as winter fragrances, you can wear everything whenever you want!
