It probably should have been a water/flying type given where it lives. But I do prefer its current typing and in the movies Psychic can manipulate other elements. In any case a top 5 Pokémon for me.
Fun fact: The reason why Lugia isn't water type in the game is because they wanted it to be seen a powerful. Remember how broken psychic types were in Gen 1. Also, Lugia wasn't made for the Gen 2 at all, it was made for the 2000s movie, with a Chinese Lion Dog like Pokemon thought to be the legendary for Silver (especially since Ho-oh is based on the Chinese version of the Phoenix).
@rece5232 yeah mate, what business does it have to be a psychic type. It doesn't learn as many psychic moves, and it's literally called the guardian of the sea. Plus it'd have more synergy with Ho-oH being a flying fire type
@@timzyt63 he’s does learn psychic moves and psychic/ flying is just a more epic combo for a legendary Pokémon I think and on top of that he can learn water type moves so why make him a water Pokémon when that’s a basic type and Pokémon is literally over saturated with water types
Just a possibility I think Lugia is a boy bc in the Pokemon the movie 2000 it had a male voice and I think in the wish maker movie I think Lugia wished for a baby
The creator of Lugia really, really wanted her to be female, so badly that it drove him to depression. I think it's respectful instead to refer to it as female, even if it has a male voice
@@Lingeringhorrorspretty sure he wanted Lugia to be neither. I remember that he said Lugia was describe to be more motherly as far as it goes. A duality voice would've been perfect for Takeshi's vision. So referring to Lugia as he/her is lore accurate. And to the general comment. The OG Lugia isn't the same lugia with Silver and a flock of lugia seen in the same episode. My guy is in slumber since his powers are too op.
Ever since watching them summon Lugia in 2000 it’s been my fav Pokémon
Lugia is my fav legendary
Same
Me too
Yep
Same here
Mine too
Lugia has been my favorite Pokemon for many many years..... only legend that solo-ed hoopa
Ah yes the guardian of the seas is not a water type
Pokemon 2000 is the best pokemon movie 😊
The two first movies are the best.
Long time back i thought lugia to be a water and dragon type but when i found its was phykic and flying😅
Concept art was insanely good and remained the same way for the final version.
Lugia is a hold backing Pokemon if it stops hold backing it can defeat ur fav legendaries
as a lugia myself I approve of all this knowledge and facts ^ ^
Mommy Lugia
Bwuh lol

Did you manage to fix the audio or did you have to rerecord it?
I still think movie Lugia used physic to compress the aeroblast

You forgot the fact that he's the best pokémon
Cool
In my head they have always been a triple type of water flying and psychic. I don’t know if that’s a bad combination or a good combination.
I love the remix of Lugia's song in the background. Does anyone know who made it.
Good video
Lugia is the best and the oversized whale that stole its thunder is overrated
i think also the reason why we have more then a gen2
I’m eager to see Garchomp!
I love it so much but it should've been a water flying type
Nah

@@timzyt63 because it’s literally telepathic
@rece5232 maybe but i feel like it suits it much more, lore wise and bower set wise to be a water type

Movie Lugia and episode lugia are two different Pokémon

I heard lugia was designed as a female by takeshi
Yup, they even regret making it a male in the movies bc of this
