Just a thing that I remembered from watching this was the anime Gurren Lagann. Everything was focused around the idea of growth and green spiral energy that was powered by fighting spirit/ courage.
You also said that the green energy has Zonai symbols, but those are actually Gerudo letters ☝️ Also, the green particales appear around the spirit champions and Rhoam. When Link uses the champion powers, he gets surrounded by spirit energy.
Ok so one question i have is how will this'll work. Ok so like loz oracle of ages and season will it work like that or will link lose everything thats my question..
And in the first game, he may have confidence in his ability, but that doesn't change the fact this Link WILLINGLY RAN AWAY. Where as in every other Zelda game, Link is almost an unstoppably brave kid, willing to take on foes beyond 5 times his size.
Yeah, I think it was more or less "containing his power." So it would still be the same power/energy if it was in the castle, all emanating from the same spot.
I believe calamity Ganon attacked hyrule castle to try to reunite with his body and gain his full strength, so CG was probably ganon’s strength, mindless, but it’s part of him, which was needed to get him at his max power
CalamityGanon was sourced from underneath the castle (and still mostly stayed put there). Aka, the Hand did SQUAT. Oh, so you sealed a corpse and kept its soul from reincarnating? Big WHOOP when Malice/aka Demise is still free to wreck havock over the same period a Ganon(dorf) would otherwise pop up. The Hand did NOTHING helpful. But it did arguably concentrate the Malice, making it more powerful; and tried to purge the Malice from Ganondorf’s corpse, thereby attempting to free Demise from a mortal husk. And be nice to Zelda-instead of simply “sealing” the Malice/Calamity like her ansestors did, she actually finally destroyed it while it was at its peak. OH, and while I’m at it? Yeah, actually what it actually did (bossfight mechanics aside) was actually WAAAAY more OP than any other ganon/puppet ganon/Demise thus far in the Series. Not to mention, it Killed Link without causing some BS timeline split. So yeah. The Hand. Is. Evil.
@@anonymousfellow8879 is the hand really evil, or just incredibly misguided or even a failed attempt at getting revenge on Ganondorf for some sleight? I say you're wrong as it took almost a thousand for enough of the Malice to actually leak out of the seal so it did in fact do it's job for a time, but a seal in any Zelda game will inevitably leak and then break. See TV Tropes pages "Sealed evil in a can" and "leaking can of evil" for more on how my arguments are based. Would not be the first time Ganondorf partially broke a seal on him and then later broke out completely (see: Wind Waker, where a seal made by the GODS started leaking in a mere hundred years before Link inadvertantly released him in full by drawing the Master Sword. Also, A Link to the Past where he made an alter Ego named Aghanim to go into the light world to break the seal from the outside, which is directly comparable to the purpose the Malice seems to be indended for). Sealing Ganon away for the next generation to deal with is a series staple, this is literally just another iteration of it. Ganondorf separated the Malice from himself of. His own. Free. Will. To. Break. Out. It's as much his shtick as being the main antagonist of tge series. Seals, no matter how strong they are, eventually fail to contain him. Sometimes it starts as a leak, others a large enough proverbial droplet, but inevitably he. Will. Be. Free. And then the whole song and dance repeats itself yada yada.
@@Arcanesquish I thought you meant that botw2 is going to be the only good sequel and all the other sequels are bad as it says "FINALLY a sequel that doesn't dissapoint" and you agreed with that
Just sayin: The whole prophecy mentions a resurrection of calamity Ganon, and in the game no resurrection ever occurs... it seems more like a seal broke than a resurrection.... However a dead decrepit body of Gannon hidden under the ground suddenly coming to life looks a love more like a resurrection to me...
@cresun but it is Gannon, in every game Gannon creates alter versions of himself, calamity Gannon though is Gannon. If he was being resurrected right, he would come out of a grave or from death right? The calamity came from under the castle and not the moon right? Who is under the castle?
Also how would one kill energy or resurrect it? Calamity Gannon is malic and not a living creature in the game. This reminds me of majoras mask in that you have things you fight that are just mask made from majora, they are him but they are also just exertions of him. The true calamity would be Gannon himself.
probably spinoff game to keep the Zelda series going. since botw is supposed to be connected to all the timelines I'm guessing the series will end with botw2 wrapping up things. or who knows

thw twilight people were banished for using magic i think the zonai are the twilight people all of the twilight symbols are the exact same as the "Zonai"
@@Jack-rk7jc The Twili were descended from people of Hyrule. They fought to claim the Triforce and were banished to the Twilight Realm. So it's still possible they are connected to one of these tribes.
Just a thing to add, the prophecy says a "warrior wielding the soul of a hero" the luminous rocks are said to contain the souls of the dead, so what if this green energy going to Link is the soul of the ancient Hero
What if "the hand" is that "soul of a hero," the ancient hero himself. What if the trick is that they CAN'T annhialate Ganon, but can hold him at at bay for an eon if a hero will commit the ultimate act of courage, sacrificing their own life/soul to counter his? If so, Zelda figured this out & attempted to do so personally with limited success. Maybe because she lacked the master sword? In any event, this would be why she needed Link's help. In the new game, we could see a role reversal where SHE now understands her role in the prophecy and guides a Link who has now twice failed and is not the prophecied hero, is not special, but must nevertheless muster the bravery to fulfill a grim destiny. Ganon is always immensely powerful and Zelda smart & magical, what if they want to really show Link as the exemplar of courage by making his role that of a willing martyr? If people's theories about a playable Zelda are correct, Link's sacrifice could transition to a Zelda new game+ (which some folks wanted more from in BotW) or even clean the slate for a further sequel different from any TLoZ title before it.
yep and i actually fucked up, i had both videos opened up and watched that other video to the 7 minute mark and then when i was supposed to continue the video i instead watched this one from the 7 minute mark, so i had to watch both of them from the start but i'm not complaining as they are both really good!
One more thing I noticed: al Ganon enemies are named also "Scourge of..." Scourge of Hyrule Castle Scourge of Divine Beast Vah (put name here) One more OBVIOUS clue Calamity is just a Blight.
That's funny because when Ocarina of Time from the first time, I would always read the subtitles for bosses. I can't remember any of them now, but i remember when i got to Ganon and it had big letters and no secondary name, just "Ganon"it sent chills down my spine.
"We've never seen a hero with a red shade of hair before" A Link to the Past with the magnificent mauve mane: "Am I a joke to you?" That actually makes a whole lot of sense, since the idea for this second game started as DLC, and just got a bit out of hand. The Trial of the Sword was DLC. They never said it came from _unreleased_ DLC.
Well - long before BotW was even a thing, I've been saying that we're still missing a huge piece of lore regarding the original bearer of the Triforce of Courage. Zelda and Ganon are reincarnations of someone - I believe so too is Link. Hylia and Demise were gods, it stands to reason that the Courage was given to some sort of Fierce Deity...
"we've never seen this spiral symbol before".... Bruh.... Let see here... Wind waker Links belt buckle...check Kokiri Emerald...check, fused shadow mask... Check... Probably a plethora of more of said "spiral"... Check. Am I missing anything or have we truly not seen that symbol anywhere
In the trailer reversed you can hear “help us please” So the Zonai have trapped Ganondorf, they are asking for help because their energy is running out and they can’t hold him anymore, they use the last of their energy to give to Link to seal off Ganon forever
@@saintnikolaas not the voice singing but you can hear it as a whisper at one single point of the trailer. Didn't that lost tribe speak in whispers or something? Hmmmm
5:44 Honestly can we just appreciate the brown Hylian hood he has, I dyed it when I started to go with the Champions tunic and seeing that in the cutscene makes me feel like I wasn’t just making a stupid fashion statement.
Yeah I think that’s just the firelight casting an orange glow, which over the blackish colour makes it look brown. It looks to be just the default colour.
I think Zelda's might be the one that's closer to an earthy shade. It looks like it might be a light rosy brown color (or the lighting's just tricking my perception). Link's is still in the default pallet I think?
So...does that mean Sidon and the others who assisted Link in the Divine Beast restoration would be the "New Champions"? _And what about Kass's mentor?_
the spiral symbol of the zonai looks a lot like the kokiri emerald from oot just want to mention that and that makes sense considering the zonai lived in the faron region

If my theory correct then This could also explain why Link is depicted in the story of the Twili/fused shadow magic as Dark Link and also hero Link. ua-cam.com/video/McKddLtjpUo/v-deo.html
What an incredible theory! Also, that flipped Zonai symbol totally looks like the Spiritual Stone of the forest, the Kokori Emerald, which is a symbol of courage linked to the Master Sword !!
It certainly has the the same feel to it as the Kokiri symbol and Farore symbol comparable to the Nayru, Zora and Rito symbols all looking similar. It doesn't mean that the Zonai have any relation to the Kokiri, but they certainly have one to Farore/Faron/courage.
Revised: Malice is black-ish and purple like the power stone in MCU(marvel cinematic universe) and Ganon also has the Triforce of Power. The blue technology could also represent shiekah tech which was created by their wisdom, and Zelda holds the Triforce of Wisdom. I have no idea why for green hands meaning courage
It could be, I think FFXV pulled off that twist pretty well. Imagine making us see the hero Ganon as the victim of the Hyrule family or something. It'd be pretty interesting.
The Sword Beam also works on Dark Beast Ganon. Calamity Ganon's face closely resembles that of Ganondorf in Twilight Princess. The Master Sword was never put back in the first game, which is noteworthy because every game that has the Master Sword has seen it put back either before or during the post game credits.
@@kjn3350 It has been established that the pedestal is the thing that keeps the master sword from weakening over time, not putting it back could indicate that the pedestal has lost its purpose (that and the fact that the master sword is far weaker than it should be).
I'm so bored with but at the same time so addicted to Breath of the Wild that I put Calamity Ganon into my Hyrule Compendium and in the brief description it says that it was forced to face Link unprepared or something like that. Great video by the way!
Maybe after being in their shrines for 10,000 years, they thought about all of the prophesies and stuff to learn wisdom? It would be pretty boring if you have nothing to do but wait for the hero to come get his quarter heart upgrade...
Bro. Red equals pure power from malice, blue equals technological wisdom from the Shiekah, green equals straight up courage magic from the Zonai, which can power the master sword. IT JUST MAKES TOO MUCH SENSE!!
That could be connected to the theory that Link, Zelda, and Ganon don't have their respective Triforce pieces in BOTW. The reason why the Master Sword has to recharge in BOTW is because Link doesn't have the Triforce of Courage which acts like an infinite "courage" magic source. In BOTW, it has to rely on Link's natural "courage" output to power itself, unlike the lucky Links that take it for granted in other games like OoT, ALBW, TP, etc.
Well... that's an interesting theory but... the greenish particles leaking from the hand are actually letters... from the Gerudo alphabet : zelda.gamepedia.com/File:GerudoAlphabet.jpg Here's the comparison with the Sheikah alphabet : zelda.gamepedia.com/File:BotW_Hylian_Language.png I'll spare you the translation of these symbols: it says "seal" and "ganon"
"That wouldn't make sense as it would imply that Ganon is fighting himself." Ganondorf and Ganon are separate entities in the same vessel. Ganon is specifically Demise's curse upon the man Ganondorf. That's why it's Phantom Ganon, Blight Ganon etc, they aren't actually him, but they are still manifestations of Demise's curse. If the energy emanating from Ganondorf is the source of Divine Energy, then by extension that would be Ganondorf either intentionally or otherwise using the Divine Beasts to help fight Calamity Ganon. The key to breaking the cycle lies with him, because the curse only applies to Ganondorf tangentially, while it is applied SPECIFICALLY to incarnations of Link and Zelda. He is the only one of the three not bound to fate. With a separation between his two halves now finally beginning to be shown, there's a way that the curse can be broken forever. Seal the Ganon entity in the Master Sword. Then they can work together to use the full Triforce to destroy it.
@@papersonic9941 Go watch Princess Mononoke, the film that heavily inspired Breath of the Wild. @@papersonic9941 yeah but it wouldn't be the first time in fantasy where a character was split in two. and even though ganondorf and Gannon are supposed to be the same entity I've always felt throughout the games that they were two separate entities intertwined. I think it's more like a pot of water ganondorf being the pot, gannon is the water. Cannondorf is the human vessel or the shell or the puppet for demise's curse
Does nobody remember in Twilight Princess that the people are green when you use your senses, and you got the senses because of the twilight realm and stone thingy
There is a theory that the zonai are the twili who came through the dark mirror from four sword adventure (even though it shouldn't fit in the timeline anyway)
Isnt it suspicious that the master sword cant break while fighting calamity ganon in hyrule castle, also it makes me wonder if the final fight was made underground intentionally.
It lasts longer because it reacts to the malice. If you get close to any guardian in the game the Master sword will light up and it’s attack power and durability will double.
@@lewistonlewis9093 these effects should only apply if you didn't beat any trial of the sword. The swords power isn't really doubled, it is just brought up to 60.
I forgot how fucking sick botw lore is, like that diary I descovered about how miners descovered these pillars around hyrule Castle that would later trap ganon in hyrule Castle and how everyone theorised what they meant
Interesting thing I’ll point out: Ocarina of time: there was a literal Ocarina of time. Majora’s Mask: there was a literal Majora’s Mask. Wind Waker: There was a literal Wind Waker. Twilight Princess: There was a literal Twilight Princess. Skyward Sword: there was a literal Skyward Sword Breath of the Wild: uh yeah that title doesn’t follow the same pattern. is that green magic stuff the literal Breath of the Wild???
@@Azaela well maybe not specifically THIS green stuff, but notice how each energy moves Power/Malice claws, seeps, and Bubbles, Wisdom/Sheikah Energy swells, and seems precise and angular. Able to construct, and reassemble. And this new Green Energy/Courage flows, and Spirals like the wind, swirling and free. Just seems to add up the the "Balance of Power"
Actually we did see the substance in the first game because when you complete a shrine. The monks at the end dissolve into a green substance that seems to be the same color as the substance holding down gannondorf. So when you do the shrine the monks Add to the substance holding down and Gannondorf.
There will be a 3rd botw game, the 1st is for the wisdom, that’s explain why there is no temple and a lot of shrine enigms, even the divine beast are giant puzzles. The 2nd game, this one is gonna be the one of courage, darker, and scary, to defeat the fears, and prove the courage of link And then naturaly we will have the strength
I lowkey want link to finally lose to ganon raw dark power in this game so that we can get an avengers endgame style rematch with zelda, link and others going all out to take him down
5:36 I always assumed Link had the Master Sword in the trailer because they are treating the "secret" ending (all divine beasts/all memories/ master sword) as the canon one. It would make sense. Having the possibility that Link would not remember Zelda at all in BOTW 2 seems like it would make things complicated.
1:18 wasn't Zelda in ocarina of Time able at some extend to have premonitions? If I'm not wrong when she was a kid she had dreams of future events involving Ganon
The kokori are "immortal" in a way, maybe there was a tribe of Kokori that strayed from the Deku Tree and evolved into more humanoid figures? Maybe they even used their own mortality as a way to create their own magic.
Green is courage... so that would mean the Emerald must have courage or some power of it. Hmm maybe that "corpse" was absorbing the power of the Triforce of Courage to take over Hyrule
Which wasn’t the power ball you use in TP to control the statues green as well?(use magic controls objects like they have a soul.....fits with the zonai being magic users and the green magic being soul power)
I just thought, that maybe the 7/8 heroines represents the ancient tribes (Zomai, Shiekah, etc) because in the 7 heroines shrine quest one of the orbs has a spiral on it like the Zomai’s symbol.
@@Solibrae maybe something like in OOT, where we had to saved the sages to complete the game, this time maybe we would need to save the 8 heroines to give the master's swords its full power
Allow me to build on this: The 7 official heroines represent the 7 surviving races in Hyrule today: Zora, Goron, Rito, Gerudo, Korok, Sheikah, Hylian (Idk which symbols match up to which races, it's hard to tell). The eighth heroine represents the Zonai. The eighth heroine is often mentioned as "wiped from history", much like how the extinction of the Zonai means that they were "wiped from history"? Might be reaching slightly, but it's a theory
I think about this all the time, but I cannot help OBSESSING over the lore of these games. I think it's the same kind of logic of me being a little kid and looking at the low res sky boxes in games like Mario or Spyro and thinking "holy crap I wonder what's over there!?!", even though I knew there was nothing there.
The Master Sword being weakest in this game could have something to do with BotW Link not possessing any magic. Granted Skyward Sword Link didn’t but he forged the Master Sword. It would have been the pinnacle before any degradation
I'd say it might that although link can handle the master sword, after having lost all his memories and losing physical experience he might need to rekindle his bonds with it. It's clear that the mastersword is more than just an item (it speaks and stuff), so I'd assume link still has to truly prove he can use the power.
@@radiofloyd2359 After Skyward Sword, Fi disappeared in the sword because her purpose to serve the goddess' chosen hero was served. There is no longer conscious in the Master Sword. Unfortunately..
Addition to this theory would be that the Zonai magic could be related into SOULS because Luminos stones item description says that they are believed to contain the souls of the dead. Guess where are Luminous stones? IN THE CAVE WHERE IS GANONS BODY!! Also when Link uses the Champion abilities he is covered in this green soul magic for a second or two (Also his champion friends soul forms are green) I DONT WANT TO BEG FOR LIKES BUT I WANT PEOPLE TO SEE THIS!!! (English is not my first language so sorry if there are many grammatically incorrect phrases).
Wow that actually makes a tonne of sense - it also explains where the zonai went, maybe they died, but whatever the case, they now exist as souls, perhaps powering the hand that is sealing Ganondorfs wound
Another really small detail that might be worth mentioning: in the DLC quest for finding the dark armor, you have to search near some Zonai pillars. One of the dragon heads has a luminous stone for an eye and that's where the treasure chest is buried. The armor DLC technically isn't canon and mostly for nostalgic purposes, but I still think it was an interesting choice. They could've used a glowing mushroom or a Silent Princess to mark the spot, since those aren't around much in Faron either, but they picked luminous stone!
Everybody is over looking one simple thing the zonia and the luminous stone let me explain there are tons of luminous stones in the cave that link and zelda are in during the Botw 2 trailer and it is said that the luminous stone contains the souls of the dead so what if the zonia all died protecting all of hyrule from ganon and the red haired hero was the only survivor and wanted revenge for his tribe
I've been playing Skyward Sword a lot recently, so to quote Fi: "Ah yes, the oral tradition. One of the least effective and reliable ways of information transmission and retainment." (Or something similar to that) Your video pretty much drives this point into the ground.
Just some stuff I thought of: "Magic users" that disappeared are also mentioned in Twilight Princess and eventually became the Twili. The design work on the arm sealing Ganon reminds me off the Twilight Realm's architecture and adornments, like Midna's hair-arm thing. Also, the swirling energy and the Zonai symbols also seem reminiscent of the styling of Farore's emerald in OOT. And, this is not the first time the Master Sword has needed "juicing up" before defeating Ganon. It's possible that the further down the timeline we go, the weaker the sword becomes.
I literally spending hours watching theories on the sequel cuz I'm rlly hyped about this game and I need to watch some Zelda BotW sequel related topic...
The prophecy says, "The power to oppose it lies dormant beneath the ground." What if we change this a little bit to "will lie dormant beneath the ground. Dormant means inactive or asleep. This could refer to Link being put underground and falling asleep. I would say Link is pretty necessary to defeat ganon.
It's amazing how there are many clues and symbols in every Zelda games, but nothing is never 100% confirmed. That way fans are constantly bringing new theories to many subjects of the game, and this is what makes a story an actual legend.
This is indeed why I love zelda so damn much. Fan theories. Theres even one about the dark mysterious tribe in Majoras Mask actually being the Sheikah. So gud lol
But that brings up a good point. Whenever we witness the spirits of deceased Characters like with King Roan and the Champions, they’re surrounded by the same green magic.
I don’t know if this has been mentioned already (there are so many comments), but it also makes me think of the light to Satori Mountain, which is green, and opens into this spirit magic-y space with the Lord of the Mountain. Maybe if pink=raw emotional energy, and the blue=that sweet tech, then green=magic and spirit world type energy. Oh! The koroks appear in green puffs too, and the little spirit flames around the dead champions and zeldas daddy. And the master sword was kept and restored, at the Deku tree, which is home to the koroks, so maybe the master sword really does need that sweet green energy.
“Strong magic wielders who disappeared thousands of years ago” and TP Ganondorf....this game is looking more and more like a sequel to one of my favourite Zelda games, not just BotW....
What if that 'ancient race' the zonai, were twili who found a way to come back and worshiped the goddess of courage and all that represented that due to the hero of twili being such a strong influence. I seriously hope that Midna and the twili get to come to this game and get some more backstory.
You should try “unscrambling” the video, or try putting the trailer into chronological order. Then see if the audio played backwards in 2x speed has any hidden messages... So far people have only tried putting the trailer in “order” or playing the audio backwards, not both together. I want to know if there’s some sort of extra hidden message...
The green runes stood for SEAL and GANON in Sheikah and Gerudo language. Play certain parts and you can hear certain phrases. Piece them all together and they talk about the resurrection of the dead.
There is a hidden message. If you listen to the trailer backwards you can make out the sentences " oh Zelda, help us hide the body " "link is gone" and "help us"

3:20 the german version of this scene is: the earth, on which we walk/live, bears a testimony of the return of calamity ganon...but it (the earth) contains/holds also a way to resist the calamity. Earth in the german version is more like The Earth, the planet Earth or the world, not the literal earth. I wonder what the japanese version is like.
Deathinity Just put it into Google Translate: When there was a mourning, there was a fortune teller of the kingdom telling a prophecy. "There is a sign of revival of the evil Ganon in the earth ...The power against Ganon also sleeps in the earth ..." So it’s similar to the German version. Edit: if anyone knows Japanese and has a better translation, here’s the text: だいちやぐさいふっかつきさ 『大地に厄災ガノン復活の兆しあり………|ちからこうだいちねむだがガノンに抗する力もまた大地に眠る………』
Deathinity The problem here is that the German version( i m german btw) has some translation issues, for exampel: in Japanese theiy call him just "Ganon" and refere to it as "The disaster known as Ganon" the english version added the "Calamity ganon" stuff for unknwon reasions, and the German version further translatet it from the english version into "verheerung ganon" the problem here is that the "word" "Verheerung" refers to something entirely different from what "Calamity" means, for exampel if you put the word "Calamity" into google translate it says "Unglück" as the german translation wich is "Bad luck/misfortune" in english, and the word "Calamity" in english has "Misfortune" as a synonim so it makes sense to translate Calamity=Unglück. however "Verheerung" when put into the transalter means: "devastation" as in refering to a "Devistating event/power" Dropping a Bomb on a city is "Devistating" but such a event has nothing to do with "Bad luck" unless the narrative is that someone was just so "unlucky" to visiting his friends in hiroshima the day the bomb was dropped....but even then this dosen t fit the name of "Calamity Ganon" at all because he did not bring "Misfortune" but he did bring Destruction,so the translation is off,but the meaning of verheerung is more fitting for the reasions explained, yet the japanese version did not call him that as a name,so neither translation truly makes sense in terms of the lore of the game, also "Earth" can be used for both, "die Erde" is context driven it can refer to either "the Planet" OR "the ground we walk on" Exampel: "die Erde ist rund"= the earth is round, "Die Erde ist feucht"= the earth is wet,the first refering to the planet and the second refering to the "ground" flowers are growing in. Also did you forget that BOTW is multi language? due to being a switch game, all you have to do to play in japanese is change the "Language"-setting of the switch to Japanese then the game will follow on that, i know because i brought a US-version of BOTW back when it was released and the game was still all in german-language due to me a having a german switch so the language was set on german, so just change it to japanese and then you can figure out the lore in japanese xd with english-sub titels xd.
LARS Liljeberg I think Calamity in English could also mean a great event like a devastation. But it always is interesting how they translate the games to make sense not just in different languages but in different cultures.
I think that must be a mistranslation since in english a calamity is a disastrous event that causes widespread and deep suffering/loss for everyone involved. For example an earthquake or tsunami or hurricane could be described as a calamity.
@@Chubby_Bub Well Not really, "Calamity" refers acording to english dictnoray to the following things: Unglück=bad luck. Schweres Unglück=REALLY bad luck. Unheil=Curse/bad Omen Desaster=disaster Katastrophe=Catastroph. Schicksalschlag=Blow of Faith Verhängnis=DOOM Kalamität=Literal german word for "Calamity" None of these have anything to do with "Devastation" so "Verheerung" certaintly is a wrong translation of the word "Calamity",but yea the different translations into culture and language are intressting indeed.
11:04 Kinda crazy how you were spot on. TOTK didn't use Rauru's green power directly, but since his powers are light powers and since Zelda used her light powers to restore and overcharge the sword, it's still very much exactly what happenend.
The short green text thats shown at the beginning of the trailer, translated says "SEAL GANON". At the end of the trailer, the text disappears, ganondorf is back, the sealingmagic runs out of energy. The writings on the wall are just warnings to future generations. The neck break gives a hint at the twilight time, where zants neck was breaking. Now the neck is back in place, hes alive. Also his crown is the same as the one in twilight princess. The hand with the green text could indeed be from the lost tribe, from an strong magician, but his power fades over the last 100 years, so the story of botw takes place and the Calamity Ganon is just a puppet from his leaking Evil Energy Sry for bad english Greeting from Germany :)
You are right @8:59 in zelda link to the past magic meter is green and magic potion to refill magic meter is also green, Which means in this trailer green energy coming from hand possibly be magic
There is one massive plot point that should also be considered. In Skyward Sword it is shown that the Master Sword is meant to absorb, contain, and purify the essence of Ganon/Demise. If we follow the lines set down by your theory about spirit energy and using Ganon as fuel. Could the Master Sword follow that same logic? As you said, the light bow, and twilight bow can do the job or killing the dark beast at the end of Breath of The Wild, but so can the ancient arrows. If all of this technology is in fact based on the magics that make the Master Sword work, this come together quite quickly. Ganon is the power source for the Master Sword. So in turn he is the ultimate power source for this technology. With the technology not only using up Ganon but also taking the brunt of his strength, the sword has little chance to "feed" on him. The history of previous Ganon's in Breath of the Wild talks about how his return became trivial at the technological peak of Hyrule. With the master sword no longer being used to absorb malice, it has fallen to this state, even so far it must feed on Link in order to remain whole. It brings together themes of technology banishing religion and evil taking advantage of mans hubris. Themes that Nintendo has touched before, deep in the Zelda lore, but were far too edgy for their family friendly image.
The green substance looks oddly similar to the "Hero's Path" trail you can toggle in the map. It's a green line of sorts that charts everywhere you've been over the course of your playthrough, I believe. What if it's "Time" or something like that?
One thing I forgot to mention! In the first game, you can see green particles around Link's body when he uses the champion abilities!
This is the best theory so far, and my dad who works at Nintendo says you should dig deeper
NintendoBlackCrisis That would make sense now, even more evidence for the theory
Just a thing that I remembered from watching this was the anime Gurren Lagann. Everything was focused around the idea of growth and green spiral energy that was powered by fighting spirit/ courage.
You also said that the green energy has Zonai symbols, but those are actually Gerudo letters ☝️
Also, the green particales appear around the spirit champions and Rhoam. When Link uses the champion powers, he gets surrounded by spirit energy.
Ok so one question i have is how will this'll work. Ok so like loz oracle of ages and season will it work like that or will link lose everything thats my question..

Zelda spent 100 years fighting the wrong ganon #feelsbadman
Yeah, I think it was more or less "containing his power." So it would still be the same power/energy if it was in the castle, all emanating from the same spot.
i always thought the calamity was a vessal that that the real ganondorf was seeing through and acting upon with
I believe calamity Ganon attacked hyrule castle to try to reunite with his body and gain his full strength, so CG was probably ganon’s strength, mindless, but it’s part of him, which was needed to get him at his max power

However a dead decrepit body of Gannon hidden under the ground suddenly coming to life looks a love more like a resurrection to me...
The corpse of ganon in the botw 2 trailer is actually creepy and i love it.

Calamity Ganon's face closely resembles that of Ganondorf in Twilight Princess.
The Master Sword was never put back in the first game, which is noteworthy because every game that has the Master Sword has seen it put back either before or during the post game credits.

We did see some green stuff in BOTW. The Shiekah Monks vanished into green mist after you receive a spirit orb.
Green Ghost Energy is called Ectoplasm
Maybe after being in their shrines for 10,000 years, they thought about all of the prophesies and stuff to learn wisdom? It would be pretty boring if you have nothing to do but wait for the hero to come get his quarter heart upgrade...
What if some parts of Zonai magic was still known around the time of the shrines' creation, and was used to preserve the bodies of the monks?
thats just because skeikah monks are actually part of the zonais, and only shrines are a sheika tech
Oh oh oh right, fair point
That would make sense because in skyward sword link doesn't get the triforce until he restores the master sword

"That wouldn't make sense as it would imply that Ganon is fighting himself."
Ganondorf and Ganon are separate entities in the same vessel.
I mean, why else would the ancient hero have red hair?

What do you mean it never breaks
It lasts a lot longer in hyrule castle but it does break
I’m assuming to show that the master sword lasts longer the closer it is to the underground of hyrule castle

Interesting thing I’ll point out:
Ocarina of time: there was a literal Ocarina of time.
Majora’s Mask: there was a literal Majora’s Mask.
Wind Waker: There was a literal Wind Waker.
Twilight Princess: There was a literal Twilight Princess.
Skyward Sword: there was a literal Skyward Sword
Breath of the Wild: uh yeah that title doesn’t follow the same pattern. is that green magic stuff the literal Breath of the Wild???
Like Farore's Wind. A.k.a the green life giving energy. So, yeah, I gotta agree.

Calamity Ganon/blight bosses are basically the evil that seeped out of real ganon the the hand couldn't hold back. Pretty simple explanation.
Yep - Calamity Ganon is still the real one, just without physical form. What little mind he has left plans to regain his body.
Actually we did see the substance in the first game because when you complete a shrine. The monks at the end dissolve into a green substance that seems to be the same color as the substance holding down gannondorf. There will be a 3rd botw game, the 1st is for the wisdom, that’s explain why there is no temple and a lot of shrine enigms, even the divine beast are giant puzzles.
The 2nd game, this one is gonna be the one of courage, darker, and scary, to defeat the fears, and prove the courage of link
And then naturaly we will have the strength
It wont but i want a 3rd

I lowkey want link to finally lose to ganon raw dark power in this game so that we can get an avengers endgame style rematch with zelda, link and others going all out to take him down
So the energy from the master sword stayed there to keep Ganon from coming back and that's why the master sword does not reach it's full potentia

If I'm not wrong when she was a kid she had dreams of future events involving Ganon
no you're right. She dreamed of a boy in green with a fairy and dark clouds covering Hyrule. She told the King, but he didn't believe her :(
Wait a moment. That symbol for the zonai... THATS THE KOKIRI EMARALD FROM OCARINA OF TIME!!!
The kokori are "immortal" in a way, maybe there was a tribe of Kokori that strayed from the Deku Tree and evolved into more humanoid figures? Maybe they even used their own mortality as a way to create their own magic.
i typed something simalar only to scroll down and find you i hope people don't think i was trying to copy
Green is courage... so that would mean the Emerald must have courage or some power of it. Hmm maybe that "corpse" was absorbing the power of the Triforce of Courage to take over Hyrule
Well that opens up the possibility that the Zonai became the Koroks just like how the Kokiri did in Wind Waker...!
@@solomon9655 That makes a LOT of sense

@@loftwing0077 Oh shit! U right! We haven't seen them in forever either.
In Skyward Sword, Demise is sealed at he bottom of a spiral as well.
I just thought, that maybe the 7/8 heroines represents the ancient tribes (Zomai, Shiekah, etc) because in the 7 heroines shrine quest one of the orbs has a spiral on it like the Zomai’s symbol.
It would be great if we found out more about the 8 Heroines in this game.
Perhaps,
I believe, personally, that 7 of them are Sages, and the 8th is a form of a Hero. Perhaps a female hero, a Linkle?
Alfie Thomas great idea! That’s probably the case
Remember the Kokiri emerald from Ocarina of Time? The stone was encircled with the same spiral as the Zonai spiral.
which was green. hmm~
It's not quite the same. It's more like a distorted sideways T rather than a spiral.
that's what I thought of!
Great Deku tree: Stay right there
The devs of the game are probably laughing at is like - ‘haha they think we actually put THAT much thought into it.’
Why would they be laughing when there is profit to make? They can actually get inspiriation from this or do the exact opposite
@@davidamajako961 To be fair though these games do have a lot of lore in them.
They put in enough thought to have a cannon timeline spanning how many games and how many years?
This is why fan theories are awesome.
Sometimes its possible a fan theory is an idea the devs originally had, and didnt use.

Addition to this theory would be that the Zonai magic could be related into SOULS because Luminos stones item description says that they are believed to contain the souls of the dead. Guess where are Luminous stones? IN THE CAVE WHERE IS GANONS BODY!! Also when Link uses the Champion abilities he is covered in this green soul magic for a second or two (Also his champion friends soul forms are green)
I DONT WANT TO BEG FOR LIKES BUT I WANT PEOPLE TO SEE THIS!!! (English is not my first language so sorry if there are many grammatically incorrect phrases).
Wow that actually makes a tonne of sense - it also explains where the zonai went, maybe they died, but whatever the case, they now exist as souls, perhaps powering the hand that is sealing Ganondorfs wound
Yes you might be right!
Both of you*
Another really small detail that might be worth mentioning: in the DLC quest for finding the dark armor, you have to search near some Zonai pillars.
Yuugi Mutou enough with the “sorry for my English” it doesn’t matter how bad it is or kind of.....idk but I can still understand what you’re saying.
Sounds dope.
vaxshin yeah it does but probably unlikely
Perhaps Link is the direct decendant of that survivor. Which is why he is the 5th champion with his time ability and why the arm joins with Link?
This needs punctuation.
And maybe the wispers we hear when we play it backwards are the zonai souls...🤔
I just love how you take your time and effort into making these theories
They just always make sense
There’s a zonai statue that has a luminous stone in its right eye in ebara forest
Plot twist... Kokiri are secretly a Barbarian/warlike tribe of smol people, with big magicks 🤩

Deathinity Just put it into Google Translate:
When there was a mourning, there was a fortune teller of the kingdom telling a prophecy.
"There is a sign of revival of the evil Ganon in the earth ...The power against Ganon also sleeps in the earth ..."
So it’s similar to the German version.
Edit: if anyone knows Japanese and has a better translation, here’s the text:
だいちやぐさいふっかつきさ 『大地に厄災ガノン復活の兆しあり………|ちからこうだいちねむだがガノンに抗する力もまた大地に眠る………』
Deathinity
The problem here is that the German version( i m german btw) has some translation issues, for exampel: in Japanese theiy call him just "Ganon" and refere to it as "The disaster known as Ganon" the english version added the
"Calamity ganon" stuff for unknwon reasions, and the German version further translatet it from the english version into "verheerung ganon" the problem here is that the "word" "Verheerung" refers to something entirely different from what "Calamity" means, for exampel if you put the word "Calamity" into google translate it says "Unglück" as the german translation wich is "Bad luck/misfortune" in english, and the word "Calamity" in english has "Misfortune" as a synonim so it makes sense to translate Calamity=Unglück. however "Verheerung" when put into the transalter means: "devastation" as in refering to a "Devistating event/power" Dropping a Bomb on a city is "Devistating" but such a event has nothing to do with "Bad luck" unless the narrative is that someone was just so "unlucky" to visiting his friends in hiroshima the day the bomb was dropped....but even then this dosen t fit the name of "Calamity Ganon" at all because he did not bring "Misfortune" but he did bring Destruction,so the translation is off,but the meaning of verheerung is more fitting for the reasions explained, yet the japanese version did not call him that as a name,so neither translation truly makes sense in terms of the lore of the game, also "Earth" can be used for both, "die Erde" is context driven it can refer to either "the Planet" OR
"the ground we walk on" Exampel: "die Erde ist rund"= the earth is round,
"Die Erde ist feucht"= the earth is wet,the first refering to the planet and the second refering to the "ground" flowers are growing in.
@@Chubby_Bub
Well Not really, "Calamity" refers acording to english dictnoray to the following things:
Unglück=bad luck.
Schweres Unglück=REALLY bad luck.
Unheil=Curse/bad Omen
Desaster=disaster
Katastrophe=Catastroph.
Schicksalschlag=Blow of Faith
Verhängnis=DOOM
Kalamität=Literal german word for "Calamity"
None of these have anything to do with "Devastation" so "Verheerung" certaintly is a wrong translation of the word "Calamity",but yea the different translations into culture and language are intressting indeed.
11:04 Kinda crazy how you were spot on. TOTK didn't use Rauru's green power directly, but since his powers are light powers and since Zelda used her light powers to restore and overcharge the sword, it's still very much exactly what happenend.
So close, right?
The short green text thats shown at the beginning of the trailer, translated says "SEAL GANON". At the end of the trailer, the text disappears, ganondorf is back, the sealingmagic runs out of energy. The writings on the wall are just warnings to future generations. The neck break gives a hint at the twilight time, where zants neck was breaking. Now the neck is back in place, hes alive. Also his crown is the same as the one in twilight princess. The hand with the green text could indeed be from the lost tribe, from an strong magician, but his power fades over the last 100 years, so the story of botw takes place and the Calamity Ganon is just a puppet from his leaking Evil Energy

That's quite dark but very legit and it would be cool if they added some shady background to the ancient technology
The green substance looks oddly similar to the "Hero's Path" trail you can toggle in the map. It's a green line of sorts that charts everywhere you've been over the course of your playthrough, I believe. What if it's "Time" or something like that?
