That's why you just do whatever you want to do and just sound confident doing it LOL. You wanted one of those new trailers, so you just tell them that's why you were sent up there, and that's what you're taking.
That's what I would've done. But not alot of drivers understand directions haha. They just go with the idk.. and wing it. Even though instructions CLEARLY SAY NEW TRAILER ASSIGNMENT.
I've been driving for idk.. a month now and I don't run into this. I wouldn't be mad if it did. I'd just tell em I'm here for a NEW TRAILER ASSIGMENT 😎
Seated trucks mean you're assigned and it's not open nor a loaner for trucks in shop. Basically it means it's assigned to you as a driver. Most companies have loaner trucks and extras from wrecks or older models. They use for road tests, orientation, training etc. Hope that helps.
I’m grateful for games like ATS, ETS2, and MSFS because they do just enough to sooth my curiosities for trucking and flying without all the real-life hassles you and other truckers and pilots have to deal with lol. Appreciate everything you share with us, brother. Continue to stay safe out there.
@ My Cancer Journey Be consistent, you will succeed. You are an inspiration with what you are going through and still creating content, that is amazing. I will be praying for you and I hope you get rid of the cancer, and get through this. Much love!
I played euro when it first came out euro 2 and ats. It’s a jump to the interest of trucking but you’re absolutely right. I’m on year 2 i got into school when you were still doing the rookie videos. It’s cool seeing how we progress together, and I know you won’t remember but you gave me some motivational messages on Snapchat to get through the crap in CDL school back in the day. It’s got it’s ups and downs but for us who love the lifestyle it’s great man! Love ya Dave stick with it man!
Nice man is trucking treating you well? I've played the sim games a bit too and a few months ago got the idea to actually get into trucking. Going to be taking my permit test sometime too. Anyway lol I wanted to ask if you're OTR, Regional, or Local and are you enjoying it so far?
I love to see the old CF trailers and that old International Bus Cabover I'm glad to hear your doing well and enjoying your new Trucking adventure safe travels and God Bless From Kidd Trouble
I'm from Indianapolis and just got back from a road trip. I told my wife and kids to be on the look out for Dave's truck! So cool to see you in my neck of the woods just a few days later! Also, I'm playing ATS while watching your video lol.
I'm from east of terre haute. But worked for us Xpress in indy and I looked into online, but the reviews and drivers I talked to weren't worth the risk. I run regional refer and I'm home every weekend. Still make 100k a year and I'm off 8 days a month or more. Can't beat it. I haul blue bunny ice cream and Tyson meat. So the pay is better, but the job is harder.
Update. Dave I passed my cdl test I now hold a class a cdl and decided to go with Schneider Walmart program. April 10th I get shipped off to Indianapolis for orientation and after I’m on my journey. ATS and you and Alex have inspired me to attempt this I really appreciate you and Alex for your videos, keep up the great work bud.
@tristanwalker5910 do yourself a favor and stay away from the mega carriers. When I started out, I held out and got with a smaller 200 unit outfit. From my experience and hearing others, I definitely don’t regret my decision.

Dave,Sometimes I dont understand your way of thinking. You said you about 2 hrs away from your pick-up? I would have got on the road, get close to where your pickup is then shut it down for the night. That is so much better and easier to start the new work day. Great video buddy. Had me on the edge of my seat waiting to hear the news..🤣
Keep on trucking Dave, your just a cog in the wheel so you gotta do what your told sometimes even if it has ZERO meaning or purpose. Try and look at the positive side of everything as it makes life a lot easier and when you can't find the positive just keep on moving forward to the next thing
Lol I started trucking 8 months ago. Been watching you since I went to get my CDL. I mostly do flat bed and really enjoy the challenge. Never know what I'm getting myself into.
It seems know one knows what's going on. Your also right when you said every trucking company has poor communication. I worked for about 4 different trucking companies and everyone had poor communication
I’ve learned in the 21 years I’ve been driving all trucking companies are the same just a different name on the doors and trailers 😂😂 Stay safe out there
Would stay in a hotel as well. I would be out a week as well.. but didnt have a family, home, or whatever at the time an being in the 8x8 space basically gets to you. Would get a suite at the hotel due to me being very frequent and cut a deal with them. Will say it was worth it because of the big beds, showers lol
Watching your video on Indianapolis terminal abe your bobtail run. I remember years ago while driving for Werner Re eived a bobtail order from far Ne corner of PA to Dallas because they needed drivers in TX. Was like an 850 mile bobtail.
I just started trucking . I learned hurry up and wait. That’s trucking . Just been sitting in a parking lot because my trainer went to his house for his 10 hour break.
Lol gotta love trucking. I’m thinking that the new trailers y’all were supposed to pick up got snagged. (As Brand new trailers usually have less problems) so they weren’t there. When my company sent me to get new trailers I had to pick them up from the Wabash plant.
This sounds like the railway as well. Every day no one knows what’s happening so you will get told 3 different things snd 30 minutes and everyone is just winging it so they can get through the shift and go home.
I drove for West Side Transport out of Cedar Rapids and hauled a lot fir International Paper. When we brung a load into IP we would drop that. have to pick up a loaded trailer at IP and haul that across town to the terminal and drop that trailer then pick up another to take out. I think I understand why...all trailers had to be pulled through the inspection lane before dropping so I think they did that so trailer was inspected before delivery. At the time I thought it was ridiculous, but now I see why, but your situation is udder nonsense and a waste of time and money. If you ever are looking for a great company, West Side Transport is a great family oriented company!!
Yes that is true. Let's access one that is doing that that's going to don't know what that was doing. Is that 1? Doesn't know what this one's doing? It makes it so much fun for the new drivers..
Dave I know exactly what you mean when you say people except you to be master problem solver out here on the road. I been driving for 2 years. It seems
I’d be calling dispatch and tell them what’s going on am I supposed to get a new trailer???they not giving me a new one!!!!! I drove before and I feel ya!!!
I'm at a family owned 500 truck company. No issues. No micro manage. Pay is great. New trucks with apus , new 16 ply h rated tires on all axles ,no recaps, disk brakes on all axles , even trailers. We run top tier trucks and trailers. They don't bother me after they send me a load. No forced dispatch, no problem if bad weather pulling over and they actually treat you like family. 3 separate times I've worked here and the owner is in his office , has a cdl and even interacts with drivers and he's at all our parties and events and he supports his local community. Family run is a good blessing to experience.
Dave, I can tell you some of these new people that work in this field should be knowledgeable an know how the trucking industry functions. For some reason they want these jobs, but don't know and not doing what their expected to do. If they are not working together as co workers, team members in a department know functions to be carried out. As what you said is true They should not be in the trucking field or industry.

That's what I would've done. But not alot of drivers understand directions haha. They just go with the idk.. and wing it. Even though instructions CLEARLY SAY NEW TRAILER ASSIGNMENT.
For anyone getting there cdl and wondering what trucking is like, this video sums it up perfectly lmfao.
I've been driving for idk.. a month now and I don't run into this. I wouldn't be mad if it did. I'd just tell em I'm here for a NEW TRAILER ASSIGMENT 😎

Love the longer videos! Keep it up Dave! 🔥
👀 👀 👀
Love your "day in a life" style of video, and happy to see that they didn't fire you 😀
Love The consistent videos so excited to see what happens

It was nice seeing those old consolidated freightways trailers there my dad used to drive for them
I'm from Indianapolis and just got back from a road trip. I told my wife and kids to be on the look out for Dave's truck! So cool to see you in my neck of the woods just a few days later! Also, I'm playing ATS while watching your video lol.

I'm from the SW side of Indianapolis and during this entire video I was trying to figure out where he was at!! Lol
Update. Dave I passed my cdl test I now hold a class a cdl and decided to go with Schneider Walmart program. April 10th I get shipped off to Indianapolis for orientation and after I’m on my journey. Congrats
I start classes for my cdls in April can’t wait to get my class A wish me luck!!
@@KOJTRUCKING good luck bud

Damn no new trailer I will cry for you. Thanks for the video Dave!

Totally agree I'd much rather drove and finished the night at the new load and been there and ready to go.
These UA-cam wheel holders are more worried about their videos than working
I do that OTR for 7-10 weeks out… but Daycab to west coast, so hotels every night… not sure I can go back to a sleeper truck… hotel life is great!
What company?
What an ordeal, Dave, jeez!!! I hope things were better after that. Thanks for taking us along, stay safe.
Should’ve got with dispatch. They normally have override shop and yard guys lol
Would have been quicker to call dispatch instead of babbling for half the video
I think so, I enjoy Dave’s blabbing, it’s entertaining lol
Keep on trucking Dave, your just a cog in the wheel so you gotta do what your told sometimes even if it has ZERO meaning or purpose. Try and look at the positive side of everything as it makes life a lot easier and when you can't find the positive just keep on moving forward to the next thing

Watching this gave me so many memories flooding back from when I worked for them

I really love to see that CF old trailers 😢
I am loving these longer videos
Thanks for another ride along
6:34 old consolidated freight trailers in service
I’ve learned in the 21 years I’ve been driving all trucking companies are the same just a different name on the doors and trailers
😂😂
Stay safe out there
Yea u made it dave let's go 🎉🎉
Great video dave keep up the good work
Hey Dave, I was just there today for my orientation to work for WS Thomas
Would stay in a hotel as well. I would be out a week as well.. but didnt have a family, home, or whatever at the time an being in the 8x8 space basically gets to you. Would get a suite at the hotel due to me being very frequent and cut a deal with them. Will say it was worth it because of the big beds, showers lol
We passed by the online trucking terminal in Santa Fe springs California it’s big and wide for trailers cool.
That lack of communication is with all companies, don't matter who you drive for.
I live in Indianapolis! Looks like you was by the La Quinta on southern ave. That hotel sucks. I stayed in it before officially moving to Indianapolis
I like these new video formats. I've noticed you're definitively on the chatty side, and we all know what happens when you're chatty! 😊
Dave if you use maps all the time you should switch it to night mode. Those white circles and bar will burn in to your screen.
This was interesting to say the least. Be well Dave, take care!
Watching your video on Indianapolis terminal abe your bobtail run. I remember years ago while driving for Werner Re eived a bobtail order from far Ne corner of PA to Dallas because they needed drivers in TX. Was like an 850 mile bobtail.
Hello Dave glad hear from Rensselaer Indiana
These videos are phenomenal love them
Sounds like a cluster of chaotic confusion. Safe trucking Dave.
I was hoping you was going to get a new trailer, and some extra vacation days.
lovin the longer videos!
Been trying to find you love yout stuff
I was totally expecting you to say thatsssss truckin when you said it is what it is 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just started trucking . I learned hurry up and wait. That’s trucking . Just been sitting in a parking lot because my trainer went to his house for his 10 hour break.
After 36 years I can say, I know what you are talking about. I do miss my trucks, but not the aholes. 😂😂
I saw two online transport trucks in Hagerstown MD this morning around 5:30 on I-81 , wondered if it was you , be safe truckin
Wasn’t me but I happened to be in Hagerstown today lol.
You’re in my neck of the woods. I’m about 30 miles south of Indianapolis and I’m grew up in the Cincinnati metro area.
Micro-Management! Gotta love it!!
Dave you are right all big companies do not communicate with their employee's.
I went to Cdl school in Middletown. Really small town 30 years ago.
Hey your coming down to my neck of the woods! ill keep a look out!
Lol gotta love trucking.
I’m thinking that the new trailers y’all were supposed to pick up got snagged. (As Brand new trailers usually have less problems) so they weren’t there. When my company sent me to get new trailers I had to pick them up from the Wabash plant.

Hey Dave, love your videos man. What kind of GPS do you use?
Cool to see you in Indy. My company's main terminal is not too far from yours
“I don’t know” SPICOLI!!! 😂
I drove for West Side Transport out of Cedar Rapids and hauled a lot fir International Paper. When we brung a load into IP we would drop that. have to pick up a loaded trailer at IP and haul that across town to the terminal and drop that trailer then pick up another to take out. Welcome back brother
Hey man love the videos I just applied and talked too Mrs. Sonnie. Question where is orientation and how long is it
Yes that is true. Let's access one that is doing that that's going to don't know what that was doing. Is that 1? Doesn't know what this one's doing?
It makes it so much fun for the new drivers..
Lmao I play American Truck Simulator all the time and I am currently pursuing my CDL license 😂😂😂😂. How ironic you mention that😂.
I’m right behind you in your jeep in ashland as I’m typing this😂
This is one of those "That's truckin'" days.
4:51 Guys he has lost his mind 😂😂😂
"Nobody knows what's going on!" Oh yeah, that's just trucking!
This is like watching Seinfeld a show about absolutely nothing.
The term (Seated trucks) are people that already have an assigned truck to them. Cheers mate...
Dave I know exactly what you mean when you say people except you to be master problem solver out here on the road. I been driving for 2 years. It seems
“We the unwilling, led by the Unqualified, have been doing the unbelievable for so long with so Little, we now attempt the Impossible with Nothing.”
A seated truck is an assigned truck
Be careful of that crazy giant rabbit!!! It has messed me up for years.
I love your vids!
Is that the sound of your power steering belt slipping the whole time?
I love the GPS giving you directions when you’re already inside the terminal is absolutely hilarious. Love your videos man stay safe.
Hi Dave
I played the truck simulator and now I’m an airline pilot 😂
My guess is seated trucks means trucks that have drivers. Driver in the seat = seated.
Try Continental Express in Sidney Ohio.
16:08 2 freightliner cabovers just pointing that out
i could very well be wrong but the white one looks more like a International 9700 to me though
I'm using both ATS and ETS2, even if i'm not a real truck driver i know reality and the Simulators isnt the same thing.
I’d be calling dispatch and tell them what’s going on am I supposed to get a new trailer???they not giving me a new one!!!!! I drove before and I feel ya!!!
Middletown OH… hopefully not the heavy loads from the paper mill.
All truck drivers realize how nice it would be to get out of the truck for once. I don't blame that driver one bit.
Always ask the 6 Questions. Where, What, When, Why, Who and How. From the start.
Their is one way too find out about seated trucks.
Hey buddy that my trailer thomas
Seated trucks are trucks that has someone assigned to it
LET'S GO!!!!
All the big companies are like that with communication. Terrible
Tiny

It's always something 😂
Is a conspiracy to no take the new ones😂
How many MPG do you get bobtailing?
Bro if you're ever in Dublin va again stop by Walmart tire center lol
I enjoy watching your videos bro but you need to start wearing your watch on your left wrist 😂
Why? He’s left handed, I believe, so things are reversed.
Seated means assigned trucks
hey i want to join online but idk what type of drug test they since i’m cleaning my self. i just wanted to know if it’s only pee test or both.
Dave, I can tell you some of these new people that work in this field should be knowledgeable an know

That truck is missing a couple of tires 7:15
Do you have a fridge in your truck?
