It’s NOT a suspension bridge at 17:09! It’s a cable stayed bridge because there’s NO cable running from anchors at end to end over the towers and down in middle. A common misunderstanding since cable stayed design is relatively new and only started in the mid 80’s in US, I believe. Sunshine Skyway over Tampa Bay was one of the first in 1987.
Cable stayed have numerous cables running in upside down V pattern from the towers holding the deck in place.
Dave what happened at the terminal ? No way they’re letting you go, great driver with a great personality, they have a super asset with you .
Oversize has to run depending on permit. Most permits allow day time only from sun up until sun down. Depending on the area and load they will sometimes do night moves.
Also with permits and escorts. I ran over size bridge beams to the big dig and it was always at night

My first thought when he says 'come to the terminal for an empty trailer' is that he's getting a brand new trailer being added to the fleet. ;) New trailer starting at the company HQ makes a lot of sense.

One thing that bugged me the most when Trucking otr rather staying out for weeks or home every weekend I cannot stand it when they book you loads that flip your schedule I'd deny them and tell them to keep my schedule it's hard enough for me to stay on a routine sleeping schedule as it is without them screwing it up ain't nothing worse than Trucking and can barely keep your eyes open
I agree, it's my public enemy #1. Nothing will make me unhappier faster. So far I've stayed on schedule here 90% of the time so it's an upgrade from before.

I’m more concerned with total capacity than opening size honestly. 🤣

I was in HOLLYWOOD California I had to pick up ay the Warner Brothers studio from their imaginering building a sign for Phillip-Morris in Richmond Virginia and it was my 1 and only pick up. It was a sign on a canvas sheet that was rolled up on a 4' piece of pvc it weighed 5lbs total weight! I ended up calling my dispatcher and asking what else I'm going to pick up and he said nothing because they paid for the whole trailer and that's what I'm getting. So I drove from HOLLYWOOD California to Richmond Virginia with absolutely nothing in my trailer. Our yard is one exit down from that delivery at Phillip-Morris so I delivered it in our shops pick up lol man I had the best fuel economy of my life on that trip lol
Hey, I think I saw ya driving up 75! I was heading down from KY to GA. I remember seeing an Online bobtail and thought, "Huh, that could be Dave!" Finally on hometime after a month (and being stranded in South Florida for two days with a rejected customer load, just an hour from home - that sucked). Cool beans, save driving.

That bridge is pretty common now. There’s one up by Alton IL and one by St. Louis and have seen others that are just like it also. Cool bridge though.

I drive oversize. It depends on what you’re hauling and what state you’re in. There’s a lot of restrictions which all can be found on permit.
When i started driving in December of 20, they bobtailed me from Tampa to Kansas City, KS...
Times to run oversized loads depends on the states you’re running. Some are only sun up
To sun down, and some are sun se to sun up. And some may have no restrictions at all. Depends on the size of the load….
I've been bobtailing from Florence, SC to Lafayette IN to get new trailers for my company from Wabash the past few weeks. It's def a different experience lol

Used to stay at that TA when I ran from VA to Dallas. They usually have a few oversized in there at night

24:56 - I live in Windsor, Connecticut... and I have the same problem with certain Chinese Food Restaurants... Long story short... I know of three in my area but I always go to the one down the street from my house... but it's obvious that you don't have that option... sometimes (if you have the time) it takes looking at reviews on Google about a particular restaurant...

Dave dude,that’s a great idea to start out midnight drive dying the light hours into daylight.And sleep during the day.That way early day parking you can easily find a parking spot,get your shit done and eat if they close at night.get up early and go.Well kept secret.

I had the same thought. Getting alcohol-free Listerine just because of concerns about testing positive on a DOT alcohol test is absurd. I use regular Listerine all the time. I've never had any problems with it showing up on alcohol tests.

Drove within a mile or two of where I work, its interesting to see these routes I see everyday but from a video
i live in California and i only ever see oversize at night.
I've lived my entire life in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. I've seen some seriously oversize loads in the region and know for certain that I also tend to only see them running at night - especially if it's the really heavy nuclear power related loads coming out of San Onofre. Since they tend to run slower speeds and often with pusher trucks, they run only at night so they minimize impact on traffic. In other areas, I do see OS loads moving only during daytime hours.
I live full-time in the semi and choose not to have a vehicle. The only place I don't take my truck is the local bar to save the owner from receiving multiple phone calls even though i wouldn't be drinking..😅
