Around 5:20 you remarked about the truck marked "Gas Emergency Response". That truck was part of Xcel Energy which provides natural gas and electric services to pretty much all of the Denver Metro. Gas Emergency Response is dispatched to a house or business location whenever there is a possible malfunction with anything that uses or transports gas, like water heaters and piping. Often times, they show up with the fire department's hazardous materials team. It's not for actual gas. ;)
I do think mobile refueling is a thing though, around Calgary I’ve seen trucks with “4Refuel” emblazoned on the side. I think they mainly do construction sites
I swear you were driving near Sacramento yesterday and saw you. Like hey, There's Riding with Dave 🤣 Every time I see a CFI I'm like, Uuuuh, Maybe. Love the videos man 🤘🏻
I've only run out of gas once in a vehicle. It was in 1993, driving a rented Penske extended cab box truck pulling a Penske car trailer with my 1990 Eagle Talon on it. Heading west on I-20 in Texas, I filled up somewhere before Abilene. Hours later, I started looking for gas at 1/4 tank. There seemed to be stations at most exits, but they were all either abandoned or closed. When the gague read empty I put in the 5 gallon can I had and kept going. Finally ran out completely coming down the mountains outside El Paso and pulled off as it leveled out. Grabbed the gas can, unloaded my Talon and drove on to find gas. Which turned out to be a Loves about 5 miles ahead. So I almost made it!
Thank you Dave for taking the time to post your UA-cam vlogs! I thoroughly enjoy them because it gives me a chance to see what it’s like OTR! I am visually impaired and cannot drive commercial trucks although I have wanted to for many years. I really appreciate your posts and I look forward to seeing them all! Be safe.
I love your storytimes so much! Just the fact you said, “There has never been a more SATISFYING moment in my life” made me laugh so much! Keep up the great work and stay safe!
Hey Dave, I love when you yack to yourself! I almost ran out of gas, with 15 miles to spare, though have never actually ran out of gas. Also, yes, that was a Jeep Liberty! I watch your entire video always (can be a rarity for me at times) b/c of your great story times and yacking! Best karma time for me, I was coming home from college and dude was doing 90 in a 70 and was tailgating me, (I was doing 75-80 passing a truck), the second I get over into the right lane, he gases it up and boom......a state trooper in the meridian! Trooper saw him tailgating me and speeding! Instant Karma, he got pulled over!
I just started Trucking a few months back,I made my first trip to Denver last week. You can't beat the scenery.love driving on the wide open roads heading to Denver.
I ran out of gas delivering pizza! I was a goofball and kept forgetting to fill up before taking another delivery. That was an embarrassing call to my manager 😂
I’ve only ever ran out of gas… when I was 16. I lived in a very rural area and was heading to the nearest gas station but stopped 5-6 miles short. Waited until someone stopped and drove me to the gas station and back. Good people around there. Also plan on getting my CDL here very shortly, you’ve been great in helping me decide to peruse this career.
Dave love watching your interesting back videos. I live two hours south of Denver. The boat driver is what we deal with all the time. The gas company that you were talking about is a major natural gas company in Colorado that supply’s people houses.
When I used to live in Colorado, I worked for a company out of Denver. HATED it. Construction is bad, but during rush hour, even worse, You can drive for an hour in Denver and still be in Denver lol and PLUG YOUR NOSE going by the Purina Plant lol
Welcome to Denver! That area in the beginning of the video has been under construction for years. That Gas Emergency Services truck was Xcel Energy. I think they respond to natural gas leaks and things like that.
I've run out of gas once in my life. Had a 2002 Honda accord and the gas gauge said half when it was full, so anything under half tank was anybodys guess. Went up a hill and at the top of the hill, had no power, tried to pop start it on the way down... nothing. It was the middle of winter, so it sucked waiting for someone to save me. Love your yacking Dave
With the volume we move out here in the central valley of California there is no coming in at 6 and getting off at noon. More like start at 3 -4 am and get off at 5 or 6 pm.
I ran out in a truck making deliveries in the Oklahoma City area. Fuel gauge said 1/4 tank, mechanic had to come from the yard and was all pissy until i turned the key and showed him the reading.
My first vehicle was a 89 chevy s10. It was so beat to hell that I'd have to slam the hood to get the heater going, my license plate was zip tied on, and the fuel gauge didn't work. I ran out of gas well over ten times with that truck lol
I've ran out of gas twice. Once in my 1964 Plymouth Belvedere and once in my dad's 1969 Ford F-100 Ranger. Both vehicles had non functioning gas gauges.
my 2003 Jeep Liberty got me hooked on Jeeps, it was ugly, but went through anything with it's 4 wheel drive -- in nearly 20 years - I'm on the 2nd Jeep, a Grand Cherokee -- Jeeps may be ugly, but they run great.
🤣🤣😅😅😅 An elephant, you crack me up Dave.... welcome to Colorado , my home state....I don't like driving the express ways thru Denver. Everyone is in such a hurry....guess that's everywhere right. Thanks for the laugh , I needed that!!!
Dave, I am 16 right now and I must be dumb because I spend my days watching trucking vlogs. Jk Dave, you're my favorite youtuber and honestly I'd rather do this than party like everyone else my age!
Very satisfying video, felt like I was sitting there talking with you. I hit a traffic cone in the semi I was driving through Des Moines....sounded like I hit a 🦌!!
They haven’t gave you a big ass “riding with Dave” sticker for your truck yet? I’m sure these videos bring them a lot of driver applications. You might as well be an ambassador lol. Stay safe out there man
That was a Jeep Liberty. I ran out of gas once in My 87 Camaro because the gas gauge was broken. I was in The Denver area Monday, and now i got to go back again. For some reason my company has me ping ponging between Denver and Chicago.
I've run out of gas. It was my first car. Most things electric had a mind of their own, including the gas gauge. I was trying to get gas then go to work and I knew I was low but thought I had enough to go the equivalent of 8 city blocks. Nope, apparently not. Only had enough for 6 blocks and after walking the rest of the way they just gave me the finger so I then had to wait for my family to finish eating across town. When they finally helped me I explained what happened to my job and that's when I found out they had me on the schedule for coming in 2 hours earlier than what the schedule originally said. That's when I learned even though they said they schedule was set Saturdays they change it whenever they want.
I ran out of gas twice each one a mile from nearest gas station! One with my car on I 90 in pa/Ohio border. Pa roadside sucked! 2 hours waiting on roadside and no one stopped to see if I needed help! I was driving in high winds all-day from New York to Youngstown Ohio. Another was with van from work and had to embarrass myself to call my boss!
I’ve ran out of gas 3 times in my truck bc my fuel gauge don’t work! And I misunderstood how much gas I put in lol so I carry a 3 gallon can with me at all times full of gasoline
That part of I 70 east just opened up 2 weeks ago! The truck you past was gas emergency response was not for cars! It's for natural gas ! Incase people come across a natural gas leak!
I’m not sure if this is a coincidence but I live in St. Louis and I saw a recliner I-70 west as I was heading home right after I watched this video 😂😂😂
I was headed to NC from Toledo OH and when I got down to southern ohio I hit a 3 hour stretch with out a gas station and already at quarter tank left and right before I crossed the river I found one and literally my car was sputtering about to die and I rolled right up the the pump
Also side note you were right it’s just Denver/Colorado 2x4’s, straps, pieces of tires, almost hit a blender the other day and that was in southern Colorado 😂 the road I drive down for work now has crackhead jumping out of the bushes and dancing🤦♀️
That's a utility company and the gas you're referring to is a natural gas leak. In case if oh an accident occured where someone ran into a gas line. Or if there's a structural fire they have to turn off the gas supply. Or if somehow an underground gas line blows that's the emergency department that you see on the truck. I do believe that was an energen company truck.
im pretty sure the gas truck is more like propane and not gas gas. im an Amazon driver and whenever i deliver in the boonies i see all the houses have a gas tank thing on the yard and id imagine that has to be refilled every now and then.
Occasionally here in the panhandle of Florida I see a CFI and always try and see if it's Dave, but it never is. I'm sure the truckers think i'm crazy for looking at them the way I do.
Lol Dave the gas emergency response truck was for home heating and emergency response to gas line leaks of natural gas in under ground gas lines. Not to help motorists who ran out of gas.
Today, on "Mustang talk with Dave", Dave takes us down memory lane to peak-era Vanilla Ice and his 5.0 Maybe in a future video, we can get a selfie of Dave with the Vanilla Ice high top fade?
Dave, the Jeep Patriot is not only ugly ,it's a piece of crap! Got stuck with one from Enterprise for a trip from Cincy to Waco.Never again,if the only car available is a Patriot,I'll take a Greyhound!
Dave, did you say that in their 58 years of production the fourth gen mustang was your favorite mustang lmao? My dad made a car hit a cone once. He was in the right lane and there was construction coming up and, of course ya know, everybody has to speed around ya, no patients. So there is this car coming up on his left and so are the barrels. The car thought my dad was gonna let him squeeze in but nobody in their right mind is gonna let some jerk off get in front of them simply because they don't want to sit behind a truck. So the car wound up hitting the barrels and my dad went on his merry way. It was exactly like a video I saw recently. Maybe somebody knows the one I'm talking about.
13:25 up 14: something That a Chevy Tk got be in the very early 60's . Close 50's years old. Chevrolet need give that person a new free 1. Put him on a commercial for Chevy Tough. Try do that with our beer can thin & cheap made vehicles of today.
