Great episode! really good suggestions and remarks about cleaning up for your canine family! I had to smile and grimace at a few of those having had those experiences more than a few times myself! Your spot on about average GSD lifetime expectancy but occasionally they’ll surprise you. I’ve had one female (Luna) who made it to 17 years and was hiking 3 miles a day with us until The last day when she drank some water after a hike and got gastric torsion distention, we had to say goodbye at the vet hospital. I did have the consolation of knowing she had had an exceptionally long and good life! Another female (Nalia) made it to 14 and 8 months but all the rest passed between 10 and 13 years of age. Whenever they go it always seems to be to soon😢! Just try and remind yourself of all the good time’s you’ve shared and that we all have to say goodbye eventually🥲. Absolutely I love the video!! Yes and in Wisconsin a gets 40 below😝 I get my new German Shepherd August 28. Sascha will be eight weeks old. I love all your advice Zac keep it coming!! People that own German Shepherd‘s are the only ones that understand a German Shepherd. I get the stereotyping all the time when I take Zariah out. Not fair when you train them good ..but like you said there’s people out there were there lunging and not trained well by their owners makes it hard for us to do train our dogs well😁

Hey so just to follow on from Spaying.
The general consensus is let them have 1 season, then you can have them spayed.
Lucy is proof it's not a disaster (or a bad thing) to do it earlier.
I have also heard there are some benefits to having more than one season.

I put in so much work trying to socialise my gsd i have a trainer but he cannot handle other animals being close to him some days hes better then others but its a long journey
