Hi Sam, I am writing to you because I find very interesting your project related to the piezo support (in SLS polyamide) of which you have sent files for 3D printing. My question is: can it completely stop the vibrations of the cymbal? And again, what thickness should the support have? Thank you for your attention. Sincerely. Antonio (Italy)
only a piezo and a rubber between the piezo and the cymbal and for the choke I use an arduino nano 3D files - www.thingiverse.com/thing:5027147 my first choke test : ua-cam.com/video/IZqYxSomupI/v-deo.html or ua-cam.com/video/v3FjSPsTuhU/v-deo.html sensibility choke : ua-cam.com/video/GwdlWABckI4/v-deo.html
there is no midi modification to do, you have to take an arduino code to detect the touch, see video: ua-cam.com/video/lqg_Ze_OiiY/v-deo.html and connect it like an FCR or any other choke switch, the module takes care of the rest (it obviously works better on a roland td27/td50)
Great work mate!! subscribed!
not bad, seems the choking part is pretty delayed though. Might try this out in the future.
which trigger did you use for the low cymbals? Can I have the link?
Nice job!
What's your take on Roland toms vs diy toms
I dig them both. 😎

This is impressive. You got 360 around the LV cymbal and touch choke, impressed. What the trigger set up on that LV cymbal?

@@simrtech3d Impressive! So you have a 3d printer and got the design from somewhere else?
@@steevidrums yes I have a 3D printer(Five printer) and I drew under fusion 360, the thingiverse page is mine
@@simrtech3d Awesome. Do you sell these or just make them for yourself?
@@simrtech3d do you sell please?
I am implementing a similar system? Have you ever shared the code you used for MIDI changes?
cheers!

Choking on the LV seems really high latency though. Are there no microcontrollers that can do it faster?

Do you sell the choke system trigger?
do a search on the arduino and capacitive switch, max 2 €

What is causing the delay?
