I'm gonna be a senior in college and this is the most accurate and helpful list ever! The amount videos like this I see with unnecessary stuff is ASTRONOMICAL.
also, if your ego won't be easily brusied, you can get the Samsung Galaxy tab S7 or S7+ which are the equivalent to the iPad pro. they're $100 less (S7 - $649, S7+ - $849 vs. iPad 11" - $799, iPad 12.9" - $999) and they come with the pen. You don't have to buy a separate pen, which costs over $100 with the iPad.
Samsung notes are EXCELLENT!! My brother has a Samsung note and the experience is really AWESOME!
I think apple products are, like you said, only bought for ego and not quality. I can't think of one apple product that can't be bought for better quality with less money in another brand

guys! airpods do also work w android, so if you have a samsung or something you can use them too! (I do) they work really well and like she said, they're super useful :)
Think it this way. Airpods are BLUETOOTH EARPHONES.
It will work for ANY DEVICES. Android, Windows, even TVs! (I know bc I tried it for all).

Who else is getting ready for College^^
10:28 this is what i do for school, it keeps everything in place and you can't lose it. It also lightens up your bookbag. You can also record your class so if you miss any notes, you can go back and listen to it again to get your notes in order. Sometimes if I study, I print out those note pages, hole punch them, and put it in a binder just to kind of study from them and keep my eyes off of the light of technology for a while lmao. I don't have an ipad pro, I have an ipad 7th gen and it's compatible with the 1st gen apple pencil. So yes the ipad is really helpful, if you're not a apple person, there's other tablets where you can get a stylis with. Hope this helps for those who are considering. (sorry if there's a ton of spelling mistakes).
Some tips from my own experience:
Get that convertible hot and cold gel pack (didn't realise the importance till I sprained my feet)
As many people have said getting crocs is helpful
And an eye mask for sleeping is a life saver if you and your roommates have a conflicting sleeping schedule

-(for those who have a communal shower space) ✨The Shower Trio✨: shower shoes, shower caddy, bath robe
-power strips, command hooks/strips, handheld vacuum
-laundry hamper (backpack style), phone wallet cases, mini fridge
🌟second priorities
-cart/trolley thingy (good use for a bedside table etc), mattress topper, indoor slippers, desk lamp, bed risers, brita water filters, light up mirror
-kind of pricey but useful to have things: airpods, a pair of nice headphones, a kettle, a fan(works for white noise too), ipad(pro)+apple pencil
🌟third priorities
-tide to go, emergen-c(vitamin supplements that work for you), first aid kit/bandaids, mini stapler, lint roll, scissors, nail clippers, tape
Old navy flip flops are great shower shoes
it's not even close to preparing for move in yet but my anxiousness has me making my list months in advance bc im scared to forget something lmaoo
Also, a rocket book is a really nice thing to be honest. It’s to take notes, but super helpful. It sends the notes to your phone in any place you want.
When you feel like senior year is already over and you’re ready to over prepare for the new move lol
for the notes thingy how u said getting an ipad pro so you can know where everything is, get a rocketbook it is a notepad that u write on like a normal notebook and upload it to the app and the pages are reusable it’s amazing
If your only goal is to keep ONLY NOTES organized, you don’t need iPad.
But as an iPad user, I use it for wayyyy more things.
Like filing my documents, annotating LOTS of pdfs that my teachers gives out and powerpoints. I use it to convert word docs and powerpoints to pdf and write on them as well. I can switch tabs to access my notes and MOST importantly...I read ALL my textbooks in my ipad! I regret buying 3 hard copies in my first sem when I can get pdfs for free or at wayy lower prices.
Everything is in one place and I only need my ipad, my apple pencil and a Bluetooth keyboard to go. My back won’t hurt like crazy anymore specially since I’m a college commuter (I got no car cus I’m an international student).
if you can't afford a rocketbook, another alternative for uploading and organizing notes online is the adobe scan app and a regular notebook. it's what what i use and the photo quality is pretty nice

@@wwandmitski I only had an i pad with a keyboard my freshman year and had no problems, so I would say I pad, unless you need certain programs for majors like engineering that are only on computers.

Get a Microsoft surface pro instead of a MacBook if you want to be able to write notes and keep them on your computer!! I love mine and all my notes are so organized!

This is one of the first dorm videos I’ve seen where the video is actively engaging (or atleast for me.. I have a short attention span) and it’s crazy because the setting is the same throughout the entire video but you still manage to make it super fun to watch! Instead of an iPad Pro, you can also get a rocketbook (it’s a reusable notebook that you can scan each page and send it to a google drive/email/etc) I used it during remote learning to send my teachers my notes and it was very helpful.

8:17 Galaxy buds would probably be the best equivalent, thy work with all android phones, not just Samsungs, and they have toggleable noise cancelling so they can be used to block out noise in loud places

10:20 as for iPads, make sure that you know before hand if your subjects require a specific program that can’t be downloaded to your iPad. I personally got my iPad Pro for school because I thought it was way more convenient (and it is) than my huge bulky gaming laptop, but turned out that I needed to use Maple for maths, that cant be used on iPad so now I have to practically drag myself to school with an extra 2kg on my shoulder. - help

Oh god, I didn't have a fridge my freshman year and it was absolute hell. I couldn't save any kind of food or buy any kind of food which, if it wasn't Gatorade or protein bars, would rot super quickly because my dorm has no AC

You can boil an egg in a kettle. I would make sure that the water level is higher than the egg and the egg sits in the kettle long after the water boils if you want heard boiled eggs.

An iPad will literally pay for itself!!! I got the ipad 7th gen (the newest cheapest one if that makes sense) and I got my textbooks for a while semester for only 30 bucks! I don’t have to buy stationary. I don’t have to haul around textbooks. I don’t have to worry about ruining textbooks either. Like honestly. It is an investment but it is worth it in my opinion!
I’m currently a senior in high school but if you like smaller things like me I suggest an iPad mini it is also compatible with the Apple pen and I take all of my notes on it
