My take-aways: 1. Face your Achilles heel. The subject u r so weak at, getting stronger at it will save you a lot of stress. Just reading a few pages of that subject makes a difference. 2. Winners and losers have the same goal but different system. Your system is the daily collection of habits that will take you from point A (your beginning point) to point B (your goal). Start by getting organized. You need a planner for that (maybe notion). 3. Removing bad habits is more efficient than incorporating good habits. The vid with 20 study tips like PQ3R and whatnot is not making every viewer an A+ student. U don't have study problems, u have personal problems that interfere with studying. So instead of learning or incorporating those study tricks, u shd focus more on fixing urself. 4. clear ur room, backpack, study space until it represents the kind of state of mind you want to have. And decluttering ur mental space is even more important. Jamming down tons of trashes in the form of TikTok and scrolling is squeezing down ur attention span and memory. Your physical and mental space both have it's limit and you really don't want to fill the space with unnecessary things. 5. Reflect on your past year and do better this time. Become your better self NOW, not after school starts. Now is the best time to shape your identity, the ones that you want to hold for the rest of your school year. 6. Mind is like a muscle. By feeding it unnecessary or bad content, u r subconsciously rewiring your brain in a way that's going to make studying harder. Consuming the right content will help you reverse the damage. 7. "enough preparation means preparing until you feel ready" so prepare bro.
Thank you for giving your key takeaways! I’ll read this if I can’t come back to Amy’s amazing video :) they’re very detailed and say basically exactly what was said in the video!! So cool!!
I'm 13, and I really hope this helps me because I've noticed how over the years I became less and less excited for school 😭. I don't want to be like the rest of my classmates who fail, cheat, or do other things just to get to the next grade. Just to struggle even more, every single grade puts more pressure. I want to be a productive, smart, intelligent, excited, exciting person filled with energy, but sometimes I feel like I can't do it like I'm too lazy to do anything I don't know why my life isn't filled to the top like other people but... I still don't feel like I can do it. Also sorry for my English mistaks before hand 😂. (I'm in 7th grade) English math and science are my weaknesses. Last year I procrastinated more than I could ever imagine
I'm also currently 13 but starting freshman year. I think what works best for me is to almost gaslight yourself into thinking you like and love subjects you absolutely hate or dislike. Pretending I look forward to math or science and almost trick your brain into thinking you actually love the subject. I feel like the positive mindset & changed attitude has genuinely helped along the way. I seriously do suck at math like BIGTIME but I just try to pretend & convince myself I'm the best & set healthy standards in a positive way so I can become more confident. Idk about you but I feel that it works at least somewhat. Good luck though 💙
What many people don’t discuss is resting or knowing when to rest. All of the advice pretty much promotes actions, actions, actions. You push through things when you shouldn’t. In sports, that leads to injuries taking longer to heal. We need more advice on “how to properly rest”.
Thing 3 includes rest! Real rest is relaxing without too many distractions and things from tech like social media filling your mind. When you feel zen with nature or your loved ones, that's when you will truly feel ready, able to take other actions sustainably, and refreshed.
@@gaydndhobbit1248 I totally agree with your point that we should rest before we hit burn out, but I feel like most people who consumes self help content rest reactively rather than proactively. We cut things out when we realize we are struggling. This makes sense because if we are not struggling, why should we stop grinding/improving ourselves? It is like a waste to not push ourselves when we are feeling good. Most good training program have a light week/resting, but that would not be possible with school as the workload is at a moderate to extreme level throughout all the semester until the very end.
Notes for myself 1. Tackle weaknesses before school starts ( for me read more ) 2. Plan before hand, ( get a Good planner ) 3. Remove bad habits 4. Become ypur ideal self now 5. Clean your Spaces, Keep it organiszed
My goals for this school year: To be the top of my class (if possible also, valedictorian) How I can achieve this: 1. Set the right systems that benefit you 2. Stay focus and avoid getting distracted 3. Be more dedicated in my school works 4. BE MORE PREPARED (AS IN WITH PASSION KIND OF PREPAREDNESS) 5. Fix your mindset (avoid being harsh with yourself but also avoid the feeling of superiority) Wish you all a school year that will forever change us for the better!!!
Hii!! Thank you for sharing your goals, and the concepts of this video!! I’ll surely come back to this :) thank you for wishing us a good school year!! I wish you the best as well and go A-Team! ❤🫶
Quick summary the five things are: 1.asses your weaknesses 2.set your systems 3.take out the trash in your life 4.become your ideal self NOW 5.re-wind your mindset Thank you so much Amy for the inspiration video, and I'll deffo take what you said I to account ❤
Amy, I recently listened to #6 from your podcast. I became a teen this year and seeing all the other girls online and around me developing and being pretty and having pretty bodies except for me was really damaging to me, but after listening to your story, I was so inspired to see the value within myself and not the value in my body or face. You are truly amazing. Thank you!
Hi! Wow, thank you so so much for letting me know. Without your comment, I wouldn't have known the impact my words and story could have made. You are beautiful and seeing that you're spending so much time and effort to work on yourself sets you so far ahead. Keep rocking!
The sad thing is I used to be a straight A student till covid kicked in. Have any others had this happen? Don't need to like, I just appreciate it if you read.
Happend to me aswell, i also moved to England for Half a year with my Family, didnt work out, and after i was back in Germany, Most of the stuff they did in my class there, i didnt. I had to Keep up though, so it did indeed get better.
The way you spoke at the end also reminds me that I should work on slowing down my speaking. A lot of smart students at my school also speak very quickly but I don't have any problem following along with them .
My goals for this year: Not to get stressed or overwhelmed when I have a lot of studying to do Last year I got straight A's and was the best student in my class, but I procrastinated a lot, so when I had to hand in projects or study for exams, I had a lot of work piled up and I couldn't get anything done. Now I'm going to enter high school and I know that things will be a little more complicated and that I have to organize my time so as not to accumulate anything "Set your systems" as Amy said. But I'm glad I followed Amy's advices all summer, and I feel like I'm ahead and prepared, so thank you! ❤
she's speaking so many truths. This summer I have been consuming things that I wanted to know more about. The amount of self growth en new things I already have learnt is crazy. Can't wait to learn even more in school
1. Tackle weaknesses with proactiveness 2. Set your systems 3. Take out the trash (take out the mental and environmental clutter) 4. Become your ideal self NOW 5. Rewire your mindset by consuming healthy content
Hi!! It's me again. 🙈 It's the third day of transformation for my English LVL. When I listened to your podcasts for the first time, I had many new words that I had written in the special program and repeated 3-4 times in a day. So the first time I listened, I understood 60-70% from all material, but now I see that I didn't know only two or three words) And after your video, I try to repeat information that u said ☺️ Thank you for motivation!! (I forgot to comment on your video yesterday .. But I watched very carefully). Amy, thank you for all your work that u do. I found my " Achilles' heel" and I struggle with it! ❤️
I feel like the problem that I’ve been having these past couple years is not participating enough. But the thing is I try to participate in the conversation we’re having in school but then I have no idea what to say. But now I’m realizing I wasn’t prepared I didn’t study the material we were going to be discussing! And I’m also noticing that this is the same thing that’s happening with math! I’m really bad at math and I want to get better but I’m not because I’m not preparing! Thank you so much Amy for the tips! This is going to help me so much this coming school year!
I just started school today and I'm already doing much better than last year. I was paying more attention during class and was WAY less chattier. Plus, I also improved my attention span, so it's a lot easier for me to focus in class now. Thank you so much Amy! - 7th grader
Hi Amy! I'm a 15 year old boy going into sophomore year and I'm pretty proud of finishing my first year of high school. I'm going into my first AP class(CSP), doing Spanish, and starting basketball(thinking of joining the team). Here are some things I could work on from last year: - Distracted from YT and other websites on my school computer - Addicted to music(a lot of music) - Wasn't very social @ lunch bc I would just sit by myself That may not be everything, but that's all I could remember for now. I could: - Put blockers(hard to do on school computers) - Use planners like you said - Get out of my comfort zone much more often(This applies to other things) That's everything I have, but please reply if you have any suggestions on what you think I should do! ❤ P.S. Good luck to everyone that's going to be working hard this school year and wish me good luck! ❤
I'm in the same situation you're in!, I'm joining my first AP, trying out for a sports team and trying to become more social as a sophomore. This is my advice!! :D One thing I'm doing is trying to find hobbies outside my phone that I can do anytime, Like drawing, writing, building legos, playing volleyball or badminton in the backyard, walking outside and getting a sweet treat, etcccc... just pretty much anything that can distract my mind from wanting to use my phone, so anything you want to do, don't think twice and just go for it. Despite all this though, I still use my phone for a bit, I just feel less "controlled" by it so I could put it down more and sometimes even forget to bring it with me around the house. And since I've been more present personally and outside my phone I found i became more chatty and slightly bit more social with others since i had found more things to talk about!. Another one a is little more specific advice. This advice is more on building confidence (which can help with socializing ) and another idea of what to do w time outside your phone! (feel free to take it as a grain of salt ! :3). That advice is to work out and practicing things that will help in joining the sports team , (for example: I'm planning on joining cheer so im stretching for flexibility and working on my strength and on stunts) since you're doing basketball , you could look for advice online on workouts and things to do to get better from home , as long as you can stay consistent with it!, From my Perspective, It's been super great and made me feel pretty productive so hopefully it works for you too. (if you're not doing it already that is). P.S: Good luck!!!!!DJJWIOQEWFDGJSHDA I hope my advice helped in someway!!!!e even though im a little bad explaining thingsss
Im a rising junior and lemme just say, you will thank yourself so hard for joining that sport :) amy is soooo right ab how sports change everything, plus you'll make so many friends and connections, while getting fit :D
hi Amy, i commented on another video (i can't find the comment now aha) about my exams and how i was good before but really went downhill. Anyways, its been like 6 months, i didn't do that well in my board exams but i did great somehow in my entrance exams! i got 99.58% its not thaat amazing in my country but it works. i got in the best architecture college in my country(very competitive and milllions of students) , thank you at some point i was only studying just so i could comment this bc everyone including you were so positive to me in the replies. thank you again :)
as a 13 yr old girl who is transferring to a new school in two week and trying her best to get ready this summer, this was SO helpful man, I am so glad I found your page and I got this median-sized book where I write down all the key parts of your videos and others so I can look back and learn them and also get used to writing fast and reading quicker, just, thank you Amy❤
1:37 important👍🏻 I'm a Korean, and actually all these covered in the video are what I grew up hearing(did not practice well back then😂). 👏🏻👏🏻 Love your videos!
I start my last year in about a week, i have several online classes now due to slacking off previously even in middle schoold. This helps alot and I highly appreciate it 💜
My school starts tomorrow (O-M-G, I KNOW T^T). I have so many plans that I wish AND will ensure to stick to. I will continue to achieve the best version of myself-to have a major academic comeback this school year
Since Im getting the chance to share what I need to Improve on, might as well! it could help other people reading the comments on what else to improve on. * attention span/procrastination always gave up on homework to go on social media and got REALLY BEHIND a few classes *brain clutter spent more time online than studying, couldn't remember any material for long periods of time in ANY CLASSES. :( *productivity didn't make use of my time to improve in certain classes and almost failed those certain classes *mindset was always complaining and not doing, had doubt in myself whenever it was time to do homework and affected all of the previously listed
i had the same problems for such a long time until i started putting my phone in another room when studying, having screen time limits managed by my parents so i am not able to change them, and best of all, i have no social media
I’m glad that you understand you have things to improve on! Amy has some videos about these if you want to check them out! There are specific videos for attention span and procrastination, and she talks about the golden mindset (and having a good mindset) in many videos :)
attention span/procrastination did so so much social media I neglected my homework brain clutter super messy, spent so much time online, couldn’t remember anything I learned in classes cause even in classes I was on my phone cause I was influenced by less than mediocre friends
Looking back at how I functioned in high school - I can immediately call out some negatives. Struggling with depression and anxiety without getting help earlier, being confident that I cannot take notes and believing I'm just stupider compared to close friends and test grades, doom scrolling on media, not taking action earlier to help make things easier on myself. But I don't really feel too awful about all of that...I mean I'm medicated for my depression and anxiety now and I'm sitting here watching videos on how to prepare myself before college and note taking advice so I believe I'm already getting a head start just by watching videos and taking in information off of these videos to help me become a better version of myself. I'm also already thinking about doing a social media detox before starting college and keeping it going throughout my college journey. I'm going to be a first-year in college and I'm terrified but despite being terrified I can do what I'm doing now and start trying to prepare so I dont have to feel as scared when I start my first semester.
gonna ace and rock this school year. i'm a freshman by the way, and i'm having mixed emotions: excitement, anxiety, gratefulness, fear, joy.. but i trust this all to God. you're really helping me amy, i started watching your videos for some time now, and the main thing that i learned from you is : "knowing the WHY and then do it" - my purpose in doing things will keep me focused on my goals. ahhhhhh, just grateful for you. it's two weeks away 'til i start my college journey, but i'm glad you're existing to help people like me. thank u my dearest, amy.
Heyy, I’m not Amy but I like what you learned from Amy’s videos and how it helped you! I’m also a freshman but to high school heh 😅 I wish you all the best in college and I know you’ll do amazing!
I've struggled with a social media addiction for the past four years. It's been something that's negatively affected my mind and body, and I'm so tired of it. I almost don't want to hope I'll get better for fear I'll fail again, but f*ck it man. I will get better, no matter how long it takes. I will be proud one day of how much I've come, starting with getting off my phone and taking a shower. Good luck to all of you! I pray this school year is filled with growth and joy as we all progress together! :)
social media addiction is the worse. if it'll make it any easier, I like to log out of all my accounts when I want to focus. that way, when I get the urge to open instagram or anything of the like, I'll get hit with the 'log in' page
I really felt called out when you mentioned working on forming relationships with teachers and people you don’t know very well. I got straight a’s last year, so I’d like to focus on being more efficient and fast with work, as well as being more social and connected to my school
Thank you so much! You got a new sub! Im entering a new grade where everything is not as easy as last year, and im in an advanced math class of a different grade, and im trying to practice. But I have a problem with procrastination, routine, and organization. But this video has made me realize that to succeed in my future, i have to start now. My goals for this first semester are: 1. Getting more organized and clean. 2. Cutting off any toxic friends or unessary drama. 3. Being a better person and friend myself. 4. Studying more often and taking school seriously. 5. Scrolling less and more time in the physical world. Middleschool is going to be hard, but thanks to you, i got a start.❤ Thank you so much for all the help you've given all of us. Because of you, we are all going to rock the school year, and I think you're an amazing person for that!!😊 Best wishes, RagaMuffin3000.
My ideal self will not procrastinate, will not scroll for hours, will keep a healthy mental space and eat healthy foods along with getting enough hydration to stay energized.
My Ideal-self would prioritize rest as much as effort, because last year I did many difficult classes where I exhausted my mind on top of my extracurriculars where I exhausted my body. Leaving just sheer will to pull myself through all those classes until I got sick. Which was my only form of rest. Reflecting on last year, I was critical on myself in the sense that I had to go all out or nothing and to be honest that's not how it's supposed to be. I know if I just rested properly without ruining my sense of sleep, my mind would've retained more. My grades reflected that, but knowing that I could've got better grades, turns on Hope in my mind as a beacon of light shining on next year. Also a sidenote into my life with my own personal growth: I strained my heart this last year, because I put my heart on my sleeve for someone, prioritizing their happiness instead of my own. Which exhausted me to no end. Until the end of the year where I got the chance to tell her how I felt. It didn't work out nor did I expect it to, but I made a decision for myself that lifted those shackles off my mind. I felt lost not knowing if she felt the same but when she told she didn't feel the same, I felt free for the first time. I thought it was a mutual crush cause I fell for this girl, which was the only thing gravitating me towards her in the first place. The thought of not knowing. "Would I ever know?" But not wanting to leave grade 11 with regrets I ended up telling her how I felt on the last day of school. (I'm crazy) but I did it for myself. Not in hopes of creating something out of a friendship. Knowing that one piece of information, made me feel free. I try not to hate myself for always having her on my mind, wasting all that time and mental energy, but through this summer I remembered what It felt like, prioritizing myself first. And I never been more awesome, more aware with a stride on top of my confidence. This summer has been amazing and thank you Amy for making the school transition a little easier. And I thank you A-team for being a part of my squad!
This video is putting me in gear for school mode! Last year i was terrible at studying, a lot of average study methods don’t work for me so i couldn’t study properly. Procrastination and lack of self care also made it hard to excel. This helped me realize i was going in the right place i just need to hone in on my skills.
i just realized my potential recently, my friends always made me feel dumb and i was in a terrible circle before your tips have helped me get m grades up so high thx amy💗💗💗💗
Wake up!!! Amy posted!!! 😸💜 Hello Amy! Thank you so much for this noteful video!!! I am going to put everything I learnt into practice now, like, right now. Also Amy? When you usually say that you treat time like it's gold, I remembered a quote for it: "Success depends on the proper use of time." This is the college I go to's motto, and I wanted to share it with you all... ⏰️📝📚 15:49 Amy, don't say that! You're absolutely amazing! We love your style of articulation! 💜 And, there's something I just want to share with everyone: "If you don't walk today, you'll have to run tomorrow." In short, it's better to get the little things done now, be it the small improvements and changes you want to bring within yourselves. It can be in terms of academics, lifestyle, sports, whatever area you want to improve... Wherever you are, just start, don't be afraid! 😸 (Pssssttttt, also Amy, how are you always on time? This is a trait I admire! 💜 Aaaannnddddd, Amy, have you been drinking water regularly?) (I am much younger than you are, and I apologise if I'm being rude and annoying by dropping the hornorifics!!! 😿)
My ideal self would work on answering questions from mark schemes and working on writing with clarity, because I think I've sacrificed a lot of marks in tests by writing too much of the same things and not getting all of the points down in time.
Hi Amy! This was a super helpful video :) I've commented it below one of your other videos before, but when I watch your videos, it always feels like you're hugging me and telling me that I can make my dreams possible. I'm in middle school right now, and I went from scoring 42/80 in Math to 49.5/50! I'm at a new school, one of the best in the country, under a scholarship, and I feel like Math and Science have been growing increasingly difficult for me. So I'm working on them so I can do well on my next MAP exams once school reopens. I also started a Notion planner, though I wish I could buy yours LOL. I love binge-watching your videos, and just wanted to let you know that I wouldn't be where I am right now if I hadn't watched one of your videos a while ago :). Thank you!
Another motivating movie is definitely Rudy, it’s such an inspiring story of making a big goal that no one believes you can achieve and then succeeding no matter what obstacles come in the way
Thank you Amy on talking about cleaning the brain and taking out the clutter. I believe you because the less distractions the more clear and energetic our brains become.
My problem is my soft skill, i have a problem with talking to strangers without being awkward or nervous, i dont have many friends except my cousins 😓 But overall, this video is very useful. So thanks! 😁
This would be my first time sharing my thing on this platform. So I was going off a rough time and having an existential crisis in an untimely matter 😭 For context, I was preparing for my college admission test, which is a week ahead now. I knew I had time in my hands just when I had thought of applying to it (the application was like 4 months before the test). Instead of studying at that time, I didn't. I just procrastinated, knowing that there is still "enough" time, unbeknownst to me that it is gradually running away from me as the days goes by. Recently, I relapsed from a bad habit that I built during the pandemic - gaming. I actually decided to stop myself from consuming the dopamine-inducing activities, the short-term pleasurable ones that consume my attention span and hinder me from doing other activities. It was actually on your videos, particularly the summer glow up/academic comeback one, that I'd decided to finally stop doing these activities-it felt like someone knew what I was going through even though they're an internet mile ahead. When I was trying to tweak my mindset, it didn't work just how I wanted to. It was when your videos that it actually got rewired. You actually helped me manage to somehow believe in myself so that I could get higher grades and at the same time employing meticulous and effective strategies in doing so. I'm afraid to say, however, that my flow-the discipline, the consistency, and the mindset-fell short just when I am getting closer to the days. I might just have been scared and developed anxiety as I was preparing for the tests-I felt like if I had prepared earlier, I would've had the confidence right now and achieved the impenetrable flow. Adding to my encumbrance, I had developed an existential crisis 😭 It is kind of silly and random (even for someone like me who knows myself far more). I don't know what to do with myself atm but I felt like sharing this part of me with all of you-and I somewhat felt relieved that I have been able to get this off my chest. Thank you, Amy, for making this a safe space for me and for the team🥹🫶
Amy please make a video on study routine ❤I really was rescued by ur videos please ❤❤and yup I have a friend who is a way more better than me and I want to overcome that I feel lost
11:23 I will do more out of school activities/fun stuff during the school year in order to keep me interested in life and procrastinate less. Cuz yk I usually procrastinate when I don't have anything more exciting to do
I've been having a hard couple of years . I was an A+ student my whole life until i graduated highschool and wanted to become a medicale student . I live in lebanon so here you have to study a year and then take a test that will get you to medical school , i tried the first year but i failed to even get the grade that will allow me to take the test and i tried this year and also failed , now i'm 19 and all my cousins and friends are ahead of me . I have already taken the decision to repeat this year because i know the reason why i failed is because i didn't study at all , i was depressed and my mind was on surviver mode i even developped an ed that i'm trying to recover from now . I really hope i can live up to my whole potentiel this year and these videoes are really helping . Thank you amy and please A team if you have any advices i'll really appreciate them❤
I appreciate the time and effort you put in this video. It looks like you put a lot of thought into making this. Your advice is very good in my opinion, especially about creating yourself into who you want to be, and that now. Aso the space and the habits created are important to fulfill your goals. Great job!
Last year i was getting B's and C's everytime but this time i got straight A's!!! And lemme help y'all too!! First of all! What matters is focus! No! You don't need to cut off all the entertainments and just study study study! (Unless your preparing for jee exam) all you need to do is focus at the tast at hand! Even if you study ine hour a day with full focus! It will pay off! Next is revision! Goshhh!! This is the way that helped me the most!!! Even if you have completed one chapter only! Revise it so that you can score good marks in that ine chapter only!! Revise until it become so perfect that you can answer even while sleeping!! Next it, stop watching tricks and hacks, your life is different! Your brain is different! The only one who can help you is you!!! See where your lacking and what can you do for it! Next is! Just start!! Not from monday but today! Not from 7 pm but at 6:13pm Don't think "my whole syllabus is pending" while scrolling at 2 am!! Yeah that's all! And this is from my experience! And as i said! Find your own ways! I am just here to guve you suggestions! And yeah its self tried i just came back after taking my report card! Hehe! Ty!!
I absolutely agree on the point of removing the distractions or atleast putting some limitations on them...from my personal experience after I had my devices locked away to see how a week in my life would go without them,it really helped me manage my time much much better and more efficiently than I was able to like two weeks ago.I am reallly grateful I discovered your channel and love your videos btw!! :D
I seriously love your videos with all my heart ❤ With the help of your last video , i was able to do good in a test wher i wasnt even taught all the topics and we had 1 day for preparation. Thanks to you it really went well . You are seriously a saviour 🙇🏼♀️
I'm going to be a senior this year and I'm taking my SAT in 3 weeks. I've really been struggling with studying for the test and preparing for such an important school year but watching this really helped me get into the right headspace ! Thank you so much Amy, you've always been a great help 🫶
Hi Amy, I find your videos great and inspiring. The advice you give is one-of-a-kind and super useful. Since watching your vids, my concentration has improved. Thanks!
Thank you for this video! I am a student who struggles with anxiety and memory problems. I grew up in a home where I felt terrible, which affected my academic results. About a year ago I started taking care of myself. Today I can boast about very good grades at school. 7:59 - All my life I've lived with the belief that I'm stupid and that's why I can't do anything. The truth was that whenever something bad happened, I escaped into the virtual world and from my duties. It was and is difficult for me because I cannot simply cut myself off from bad habits and thoughts. I often feel like I step back and give up. These moments teach me what I need to work on.
when I first found ur channel, I had mostly Bs and Cs and like one A. I also had zero motivation to get my grades up, leading me to get my 1st ever D-. after watching lots of ur vids, I got As and Bs, and now I'm motivated to get into my dream high school and I want straight As this year
Very, very salubrious video for me! I'm just very felicitous to be one of your subscribers! After one year on leave from my masters program (Columbia University MS Data Science), I will be returning back to school this Fall 2024, and will be graduating next May 2025. This gap year was crucial, as it helped me to discover a new passion in neurotechnology and neuroscience (i.e., brain-machine interfacing/integration), while also interning at a small microelectronics company. I will be taking 3 courses (including academic research + 2 regular courses), and will interview for Columbia's Neurotech X club (although I am a graduate student and this is an undergraduate club). I will also be applying for PhD programs in neurotechnology/neuroscience. I am genuinely concerned, however, about whether this workload will be too heavy, and whether or not it is better to finish my degree first before applying for PhDs. My parents (as well as my manager for my internship) do not think it's necessary, since that extra year will just be doing full-time research assistant roles. Although I personally do not want to "waste time" on another extra year post-graduation, at the same time, I am very solicitous about this decision, since I do not want to burn myself out in the process. To describe my situation, I have studied all 28 (out of 29) patents from Elon Musk's Neuralink (you can see them here: github.com/michaela10c/neuralink-patents), as well as some other research articles about neurotechnology. I am still looking for faculty to support my research project, and also interview for my school's Neurotech X project team. Knowing that there are 2 major projects simultaneously going on, doing this on top of PhD applications will be quite difficult. I am trying my best to cut all the clutter from my life, and focus on these priorities + my overall well-being.
You know summer is almost over when you get the first back to school video posted on your feed

My take-aways:

Realisation is the first step of success. You can do it, you can do whatever you want! Fingers crossed for you 😊🍀
@@e.m-sp9gp Thank you. Last year I was a A and B student I hope to be better and make my parents proud

Good luck though 💙
good luck! Let's do our best for the new school year yeah? Just don't stress too much kid (I would know, it's not good for you)

God loves you! You can repent and believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins! He can give you so much love, joy and peace!
Sometimes the real solution is to cut things out, thus that's why Thing 3 is actually about taking fewer actions :)
Also we shouldn’t rest when we are already near burn out. We should rest so that this doesn’t happen!
Notes for myself
1. Tackle weaknesses before school starts ( for me read more )
2. Plan before hand, ( get a Good planner )
3. Remove bad habits
4. Become ypur ideal self now
5. Clean your Spaces, Keep it organiszed
My goals for this school year:
To be the top of my class (if possible also, valedictorian)
How I can achieve this:
1. Set the right systems that benefit you
2. Stay focus and avoid getting distracted
3. Be more dedicated in my school works
4. BE MORE PREPARED (AS IN WITH PASSION KIND OF PREPAREDNESS)
5. Fix your mindset (avoid being harsh with yourself but also avoid the feeling of superiority)

YOUR VOCABULARY IS SO IMPRESSIVE
Amy, I recently listened to #6 from your podcast. I became a teen this year and seeing all the other girls online and around me developing and being pretty and having pretty bodies except for me was really damaging to me, but after listening to your story, I was so inspired to see the value within myself and not the value in my body or face. You are truly amazing. Thank you!
Hi! Wow, thank you so so much for letting me know. Without your comment, I wouldn't have known the impact my words and story could have made. You are beautiful and seeing that you're spending so much time and effort to work on yourself sets you so far ahead. Keep rocking!
that's amazing! I wish you all the best in the future, and I'm glad Amy's podcast had such a positive impact! :)
AAAA i’m reading Atomic Habits rn it’s such a good book!! Really re-wiring my brain
The sad thing is I used to be a straight A student till covid kicked in. Have any others had this happen? Don't need to like, I just appreciate it if you read.
Yes! This happened to me I’m trying to get back to being straight A’s
@@Pale_Demonyes but what’s the point
@@boaha5918 of what? Getting straight A’s? Explain pls
It's the opposite for me
Happend to me aswell, i also moved to England for Half a year with my Family, didnt work out, and after i was back in Germany, Most of the stuff they did in my class there, i didnt. I had to Keep up though, so it did indeed get better.
The way you spoke at the end also reminds me that I should work on slowing down my speaking. A lot of smart students at my school also speak very quickly but I don't have any problem following along with them .
My goals for this year:
Not to get stressed or overwhelmed when I have a lot of studying to do
Last year I got straight A's and was the best student in my class, but I procrastinated a lot, so when I had to hand in projects or study for exams, I had a lot of work piled up and I couldn't get anything done.
Now I'm going to enter high school and I know that things will be a little more complicated and that I have to organize my time so as not to accumulate anything "Set your systems" as Amy said.
But I'm glad I followed Amy's advices all summer, and I feel like I'm ahead and prepared, so thank you! ❤
I will also be 9th grade this year! Best of luck for both of us!
she's speaking so many truths. This summer I have been consuming things that I wanted to know more about. The amount of self growth en new things I already have learnt is crazy. Can't wait to learn even more in school
1. Tackle weaknesses with proactiveness
2. Set your systems
3. Take out the trash (take out the mental and environmental clutter)
4. Become your ideal self NOW
I don't know about you guys but having a mental journal just to write down what really sticks out from her talking, has really helped me a lot 😊
I just started school today and I'm already doing much better than last year. I was paying more attention during class and was WAY less chattier. Plus, I also improved my attention span, so it's a lot easier for me to focus in class now. Thank you so much Amy!

Hi Amy! I'm a 15 year old boy going into sophomore year and I'm pretty proud of finishing my first year of high school. I'm going into my first AP class(CSP), doing Spanish, and starting basketball(thinking of joining the team).
Here are some things I could work on from last year:
- Distracted from YT and other websites on my school computer
- Addicted to music(a lot of music)
- Wasn't very social @ lunch bc I would just sit by myself
That may not be everything, but that's all I could remember for now.
I could:
- Put blockers(hard to do on school computers)
- Use planners like you said
- Get out of my comfort zone much more often(This applies to other things)
That's everything I have, but please reply if you have any suggestions on what you think I should do! ❤
P.S. Good luck to everyone that's going to be working hard this school year and wish me good luck! ❤
I'm in the same situation you're in!, I'm joining my first AP, trying out for a sports team and trying to become more social as a sophomore. This is my advice!! :D
One thing I'm doing is trying to find hobbies outside my phone that I can do anytime, Like drawing, writing, building legos, playing volleyball or badminton in the backyard, walking outside and getting a sweet treat, etcccc... just pretty much anything that can distract my mind from wanting to use my phone, so anything you want to do, don't think twice and just go for it.

Since Im getting the chance to share what I need to Improve on, might as well! it could help other people reading the comments on what else to improve on.
* attention span/procrastination
always gave up on homework to go on social media and got REALLY BEHIND a few classes
*brain clutter
spent more time online than studying, couldn't remember any material for long periods of time in ANY CLASSES. :(
*productivity
didn't make use of my time to improve in certain classes and almost failed those certain classes
*mindset
was always complaining and not doing, had doubt in myself whenever it was time to do homework and affected all of the previously listed
i had the same problems for such a long time until i started putting my phone in another room when studying, having screen time limits managed by my parents so i am not able to change them, and best of all, i have no social media
I’m glad that you understand you have things to improve on! Amy has some videos about these if you want to check them out! There are specific videos for attention span and procrastination, and she talks about the golden mindset (and having a good mindset) in many videos :)
attention span/procrastination
did so so much social media I neglected my homework
brain clutter
super messy, spent so much time online, couldn’t remember anything I learned in classes cause even in classes I was on my phone cause I was influenced by less than mediocre friends
productivity
didn’t make use of my time to improve in classes and was constantly ON THE DAMN PHONE
mindset
always not doing and complaining, letting bad habits from friends influence me, didn’t like teachers
I'm going to be a first-year in college and I'm terrified but despite being terrified I can do what I'm doing now and start trying to prepare so I dont have to feel as scared when I start my first semester.
i really hope your college goes well and i wish you best of luck

I almost don't want to hope I'll get better for fear I'll fail again, but f*ck it man. I will get better, no matter how long it takes. I will be proud one day of how much I've come, starting with getting off my phone and taking a shower.

social media addiction is the worse. if it'll make it any easier, I like to log out of all my accounts when I want to focus. that way, when I get the urge to open instagram or anything of the like, I'll get hit with the 'log in' page

Also a sidenote into my life with my own personal growth:
I strained my heart this last year, because I put my heart on my sleeve for someone, prioritizing their happiness instead of my own.
"Would I ever know?"
But not wanting to leave grade 11 with regrets I ended up telling her how I felt on the last day of school.
This helped me realize i was going in the right place i just need to hone in on my skills.
my ideal self is a disciplined, focused, dedicated, and persistent individual.
13:04 That’s definitely the truth and the spirit!!!!! Because in Korea, they don’t care about how much effort we put in, as much as the grades!!!!

Thanks for always helping us out siso... Love yaa ❤
I appreciate the time and effort you put in this video. It looks like you put a lot of thought into making this.
Your advice is very good in my opinion, especially about creating yourself into who you want to be, and that now. Aso the space and the habits created are important to fulfill your goals.
Great job!
this video motivates me a lot after i lose spark on studying , thank you so much for the tips 💓
Im gonna finally listen to someones words and try to change my life step by step :D
Hehe! Ty!!
Thank you so much for these types,I will be using them this school year. And I love that at the end how real you were about the work you had to do. ❤
视频质量一如既往的优秀!这期简直就是我的救命稻草!
amy means being a future scholar
I absolutely agree on the point of removing the distractions or atleast putting some limitations on them...from my personal experience after I had my devices locked away to see how a week in my life would go without them,it really helped me manage my time much much better and more efficiently than I was able to like two weeks ago.I am reallly grateful I discovered your channel and love your videos btw!! :D

OMG BEO THAVK YOU THIS SU ACTAUULY SUCH GOOD ADVICE AND NOT JS SOME USELESS BS
I am trying my best to cut all the clutter from my life, and focus on these priorities + my overall well-being.
amy even tho i don't have a sister your the best sister in the world💌
