I was introduced to selling at the age of 8. I was a Brownie selling Girl Scout cookies. That is when I discovered my gift of gab. We were taught as children to help others. I started to cook at five. When I was nine a 95 yrs old woman in our church needed someone to help her clean her house, my grandmother volunteered me and I would do it every week. One time I made her some cornbread, in those we cooked from scratch. She loved my bread so that chore was included with cleaning and she looked forward to eating my delicious cornbread every week.and it made me happy to see her happy . Yeah helping others is a GOOD THING.😊❤
I was the archival researcher for the Arnold Netflix series, and it was an honour to hear fans talk about how much they enjoyed the series. But Tim's questions in this interview are awesome. Hearing Arnold talk in depth about his heart surgery, his difficult childhood and life add further depth to his message of being useful. Thank you Mr Tim Ferris for allowing us to see further into the mind of Mr Schwarzenegger, a True King amongst Men. I look forward to reading his new book and reviewing it on my channel.
Once I started to watch this interview I couldn't stop until the end. Arnold is a fantastic example of a lifelong learning and permanent adjustment. He is clearly the definition of "usefulness" and a rare role model in world full of egocentric wannabes. And for sure, he would have been a great US president.
For 50 years Arnold Schwarzenegger has been my hero. At 70 years of age, in the middle of a set when I feel like putting it down, I asked myself if he would do one more rep.
Arnold continues to share of his life, beliefs and enthusiasm in ways that inspire others. It’s not about how great he is. It’s always about setting goals, shorterm and beyond. Simply a wonderful guy. A great American, Californian and neighbor.
What a fantastic interview Tim 👏 to hear Arnold speak about how to deal with obstacles, loss or failure in life and shift gears to go forward, is jast gold. So much value in 1 hour that can change how you look forward in life.
There's something fascinating about seeing arguably the greatest action star of all time being interviewed through a cheap phone camera Powerful message on resilience. Thanks Arnold
Thank you for a great Conversation. He had the amazing push early. I share that my brother is similar to his. I had extra responsibilities becuase of him. He had comfort brought front and center for him. He took easy and never took the harder route. He still struggles to this day when he had lots of time to figure it out. Thank You Arnold for pushing so hard when you made it look easy. The hard work together with working smarter paid off. Thank you for still continuing to push beyond. Help others what you dad said is an amazing message. And spiritual as the more you help the more you potential you get back. You are humble beyond belief
Arnold is the absolute MAN. I read his Education of a Bodybuilder in high school. I took the book out from the library from 10th through 12th grade and read the book hundreds of times, literally. GREAT interview, Tim.
Fair due, Arnold is a legend, he is very wise man, not something you would necessarily think up front. I felt motivated by your conversation Tim, you’re a bit of a legend yourself you know;) thank you
Hey. Thank you for this great interview. I immediately subscribed to the channel after I watched it. Can I use the part where he is talking about sales for my website as a reference and ofc. I will add a link to your channel and video ?
Wow.. I must say that I watched this with an admiration for Arnold that increases year on year and his philosophy has improved my life beyond anything I could have imagined… WELL DONE TIM
What an AMAZING interview Tim! I loved how thoughtful all the questions were. I couldn't help but notice the Moonbird sticker on your Mac! :) I pre ordered the book already.
My highest Kudos to the three doctors after open heart surgery, for having been able to keep a straight face. The watched Arnold go from waking up happily, to realising that he has a tube stuck down his throat, and being in life danger. This must have been the performance of a lifetime, I'm thinking Douglas Quaid / Total Recall.
@timferris are you actually happy with these headphones? Seriously I would like to know. Great interview. Hopefully some of the values Arnold speaks of will inspire todays teenagers as well.
When Arnold talks about his brother and the perspective of struggles and challenge hit heavy. You do get to choose if things are in the way or on the way…
Aufgezeichnet!!! I have been a fan of Arnold's since I saw Conan the Barbarian on the ferry from France to England as a 10 yr old kid. The Netflix show and his biography are filling in lots of gaps and my admiration continues to grow. The newsletter is great, I look forward to it every day.
I love Arnold. I don't entirely agree with his father's opinion that bodybuilding doesn't help others, especially on the scale that Arnold was involved. I began lifting in 1985, a time when everyone was inspired by him. He is quite a force. California was lucky to have him as governor (especially considering who they have now). Great interview, makes me appreciate him even more.🙏
Great interview, I laughed a lot when he says THE SHOCK, I remembered when he said SHOCK the muscle. It should be a legendary quotes like I'll be back 😂😂
Such a great man, we need More Hes kinda men with balls, not those WHO stay silent and follow themass and crowds and betray The mascunility and other Bolder guys because of fear and jealosy that is happening really much now
This mans publicity tour is pathetic, forget him, forget his name, forget his book. I'll never not see or hear this man without thinking of his lovely quote in 2020 "Screw your freedom".
lol him hitting bugs with flyswatter 😂😂😂 what a beautiful, fantastic human beeing, I admire him like I not very often do anyone, her Shnitzel thank you and God bless ❤️👊🏻💯
The part telling about Franco really touched my heart, especially he told about memories 🥺😔 I think in politics he is an absolute opportunist and it was the worst of his many careers and talent! I loved him at bodybuilding, i liked him in a few movies (Predator, Terminator 1,2, Twins, jingle all the way) but as a politician i can only say: screw your opportunistic way of policy! Anyways: Thank you Arnold being an inspiration and for being part of my childhood. Kind regards from Germany
Has anyone asked Arnold about his cigar smoking? I enjoy one every now and then,so I’m certainly not judging . But with his heart condition, I would think the doctors would not approve.

That must have been a fascinating project. How did you get that job, Arnie's the best!
Arnold's interviews are always epic.
Thank you for another interview with this great man.
Thank you, Arnold. You continue making this world a better place to live in.
?
HIS World
not yours
Arnold is really great at telling his stories and expressing himself. Can listen for hours👍
The 4 hour work week guy interviews the hardest working man on earth
You mean 4 day workweek? And yes King Arnold is and always was one of thee hardest working men around.
Nope, 4 hour. That's a Ferriss' book
If I worked a 4 day work week, I’d have more time to work on more important things
I absolutely love this man.
What an amazing podcast session!
Thank you both for taking the time to do this.
The amount of value that can be extracted from this is immense!

"Make your own luck" // Great interview and inspiration from an all-time living legend.

Powerful message on resilience. Thanks Arnold
pretty disrespectful on arnold's part
Typical with old age…old folks start to care less and less about what people think. I love it.
Potatoes are hard to track.
Tim will take it anyway he can get it
@@outtrigger enjoy the interview
Arnold talking about his surgery/recovery so candidly is amazing, really appreciate the humility
40:59 so glad he mentioned painting. My dream/goal ❤
LOVE Arnold! Such an inspiration - cannot wait to read his book (being delivered today!). Thanks Tim!
Arnold really opened up in this interview. Very heart felt.

Great! 💙💛
Thank you for sharing with us such pearls of wisdom🙏
Arnold is the absolute MAN. I read his Education of a Bodybuilder in high school. I took the book out from the library from 10th through 12th grade and read the book hundreds of times, literally. GREAT interview, Tim.
Wow never clicked so fast. Tim's first interview with Arnie is one of his best. Up there with Jamie Foxx.
Just pre ordered book on Amazon. Thanks Tim and Arnold for the inspiration
Fantastic interview! Thank you!
Just finished his Total Recall book! Excellent
A great read indeed, for many reasons.
Fair due, Arnold is a legend, he is very wise man, not something you would necessarily think up front. I felt motivated by your conversation Tim, you’re a bit of a legend yourself you know;) thank you
A legend. Thank god, a living one.
Hey. Thank you for this great interview. I immediately subscribed to the channel after I watched it. Can I use the part where he is talking about sales for my website as a reference and ofc. I will add a link to your channel and video ?
Super interview. It was like chatting to a friend over a cup of tea.🏋️♀️👍
I admire Arnold
Wow.. I must say that I watched this with an admiration for Arnold that increases year on year and his philosophy has improved my life beyond anything I could have imagined… WELL DONE TIM
That section on ageing was powerful
I lam a huge Arnie fan. Love all his movies, and think he is such an inspiration to listen to.

What an AMAZING interview Tim! I loved how thoughtful all the questions were. I couldn't help but notice the Moonbird sticker on your Mac! :) I pre ordered the book already.
Amazing podcast with Arnie 💪🏽👍🏼✊🏼🗿
The "I LIKE YOUR PERFUME" bit just broke me xD
Great interview. You had meaningful questions that got him to talk about the message of his book and mindset without fluff questions
1:00:55
"200 lbs is 200lbs" I think Arnold quoting Rollins is my favourite thing I've heard in 2023
Great interview, love the lessons from Arnold.
I love Arnold. He's still an inspiration, and he's still a champion.
My highest Kudos to the three doctors after open heart surgery, for having been able to keep a straight face. This must have been the performance of a lifetime, I'm thinking Douglas Quaid / Total Recall.
Great interview. Thank you Tim.
great interview, my appreciation for arnold has greatly improved and he is correct as i have used the same things in life and am almost 80 yrs young
I knew wearing my vintage golds gym sweatshirt today was a good idea! Great conversation Tim and Arnold 🙏 💪 ❤
@timferris are you actually happy with these headphones? Seriously I would like to know.
Great interview. Hopefully some of the values Arnold speaks of will inspire todays teenagers as well.
Ordered, thank you both of you. Good vibes with all of you guys ❤️🙏
Thanks Tim. You are My Man.
When Arnold talks about his brother and the perspective of struggles and challenge hit heavy. You do get to choose if things are in the way or on the way…
I don't give a rat's arse whatever the naysayers say that's bad towards schnitzel. I love you Arnold ❤💕
They’re just kids who hate having to behave like adults
Aufgezeichnet!!! I have been a fan of Arnold's since I saw Conan the Barbarian on the ferry from France to England as a 10 yr old kid. The Netflix show and his biography are filling in lots of gaps and my admiration continues to grow. The newsletter is great, I look forward to it every day.
Ausgezeichnet.... if you meant to say excellent! 😉
Very inspiring!
Such an inspiring interview, thank you @timferriss for making this happen. Be Useful is a hugely transformative motto (and Call To Action)!
This is great
One word: Awesome
be useful
dream big
dont be afraid to fail
sell yourself
Thank you to America giving me everything ❤
Great interview Tim!

This was fantastic. Arnold is the best. Thank you for this podcast Tim, awesome.
The joke at 1:03:46 sounded like “I had so many women, you could be my grandson”
Tim really supports Arnold :)
Tim, can you please have Granger Smith on? Like a River book is incredible. 🎈
Brilliant as always
Great interview, I laughed a lot when he says THE SHOCK, I remembered when he said SHOCK the muscle. It should be a legendary quotes like I'll be back 😂😂
Arnold looked slightly emotional in this interview. His eyes were a bit teary talking about his late friends.
Enjoyed in my garden, with a cigar
“Work you’re ass off” vs “4 hour work week” right here 😂
Such a great man, we need More Hes kinda men with balls, not those WHO stay silent and follow themass and crowds and betray The mascunility and other Bolder guys because of fear and jealosy that is happening really much now
THE GOAT!!! 💗
Wow, this should be great
This mans publicity tour is pathetic, forget him, forget his name, forget his book. I'll never not see or hear this man without thinking of his lovely quote in 2020 "Screw your freedom".
You should ask Arnold about his Nazi father while exploring the concept of "Screw your Freedom"
lol him hitting bugs with flyswatter 😂😂😂 what a beautiful, fantastic human beeing, I admire him like I not very often do anyone, her Shnitzel thank you and God bless ❤️👊🏻💯
Insights:30
The casual fly swatting 😂
Let that sink in abit!!
Legend
Loved this - going to buy the book for my son whose 13 and just getting into training and acting
The part telling about Franco really touched my heart, especially he told about memories 🥺😔

Anyways: Thank you Arnold being an inspiration and for being part of my childhood.
Kind regards from Germany
I want to listen to the rest right now but it's midnight, and I think Arnold would want me to go to bed
❤❤ 💪
Don't forget that this is the influencer who went on social media and said to the American people, "Screw your freedom." And meant it.
Tim can you get Greg Hoffman in one of your next podcasts ? The goat of Nike’s marketing

🔥👍🔥
Ability to default my consideration falls to distribute to multiple countries
Has anyone asked Arnold about his cigar smoking? I enjoy one every now and then,so I’m certainly not judging . But with his heart condition, I would think the doctors would not approve.
What a synchronicity with Rich Roll.... 😅
When Arnold doesn't talk about Trump or climate, he is a fucking boss
I don’t agree with some of his views but it’s hard not to admire him and what he has accomplished
We also need to check in with Silvester Stallone, he has a few insights and life lessons to share.
I'd love to see that.
The way that he talks about the surgery sounds so much funny
