There's only one thing missing from this friendly battle between these two great drummers and it should be front and centre, god bless you Neil Peart, imagine!
I grew up in Mississauga, close to T.O. Rush still is my favorite band and my privelige was to see them twice in town. Nothing like getting to see your favorite band in your home town which also happens to be your favorite bands home town!! 🤘😁🖖🇨🇦
@@imaseeker100there is a definite difference between someone who tries to make music, or put feeling in a drum solo compared to someone who does triplets and quadruplets and that is basically their solo. Still sounds cool but totally different approach.
It's mind-blowing that they can legally share the same stage. I'd have thought they had to play on different areas like the royals fly on different planes just in case once goes down.
Nothing on earth is more thrilling than watching a real drummer live, someone at the top of their game and also with such loud, booming and resonant kits. It’s just deeply and primevally satisfying.
On the drive to this show I wished for two things, they play a Tool song and Southbound Pachyderm. I was not disappointed. I was up in the balcony so thanks for posting this view.
WOW! I'm a 57 yr old drummer and when 1st listening I was hearing ( thinking ) Bonham and Palmer but Peart and BOZZIO of course completely original at the end... I knew I could hear all the influence and still hear the complete originality of these 21 CENTURY MASTERS,!
Wish I knew them earlier. First time I ever heard of them was when they opened up for Anthrax and Run DMC at the Civic Center in Poughkeepsie New York in the early 90s. They F'n stole that show. Instantly became my favorite band
I remember seeing them play Hot for Teacher together around 15 years or so ago on new years in San Francisco. What a show that was, they are both incredibly talented.
Literally my 2 favorite drummers of all time. Sorry to all the other legends. But these 2 have opened more doors for drums and music than any other 2 musicians I can think of
Thanks for sharing this video. That was nuts. In my perfect scenario, Stephen Perkins would have rounded out the line up here. Both in musical era, the impact that Jane's Addiction had on both Primus and Tool, their California connections, and because Stephen Perkins is his own kind of animal behind the kit, just as Herb and Danny are.
Wow...just wow. Watching the two of them keep EXACLTY the same double-bass for the whole time is *simply fucking ludicrous*. No drummer, NO ONE, keeps the same time as another. We all try like the bejeezus, but we're always off by a bit. LISTEN to them...they are TOTALLY IN SYNC. That...that is unreal.
Dude, did Tool and Primus play together THIS YEAR???!!! The last time I think that happened was a new year show in the late 90's. The drummers in my band and another band we were friends with both set up in my parents basement and played like this for over an hour just them. My drummer was mainly influenced by Bonham and the other guy mainly Peart and it was AWESOME, i wish I'd recorded it. I realized this was Moby Dick right when i was writing that my drummer was influenced by Bonham, weird.
Idk I LOVE Primus(more so than Tool) and Tim Alexander is clearly a master but Danny Carey shows you theres levels to drumming. DC is S-Tier for sure. TA might be in a very close A-Tier. Regardless love em both 🔥
Kiits might have been abused during this performance - someone should probably make sure they are okay! Looks like they got the shit beat out of them! Awesome
Microphone died a few seconds later due to 2Xdouble bass x double bass gell. Poor mic. Great collaboration. OMG my ears still ring. Yes headphones to the max.
I don't see how you think Danny is a better player than Tim. Or how anybody thinks that. Dude is as good as it gets. And vice versa. What can Danny do better than tim? Nothing they are the same
No comparrison.... Danny is probably the greatest drummer of all time. Thats not to say that Tim isnt an excellent percusionist... only Danny is sooo much better and in a league of his own
Tim Alexander can play anything Danny Carrie can play. What you need to think about is the league that Thomas Hakke is in. I love both these guys but I think that guy is on a different level
Not a battle at all. This was a call and response, two great musicians vibing with each other and clearly having a blast.

Amen to that 👁
Love Neil but his solos sound like drum corps.
@@imaseeker100there is a definite difference between someone who tries to make music, or put feeling in a drum solo compared to someone who does triplets and quadruplets and that is basically their solo. Still sounds cool but totally different approach.
So true.
It's stupifying that these two sultans of thunder are on the same stage and that I've truly loved their contributions for 30 years!
Said the same exact thing.mind blown
It's mind-blowing that they can legally share the same stage. I'd have thought they had to play on different areas like the royals fly on different planes just in case once goes down.
Sultans of Thunder...hell yeah that's fuckin perfect....lol
The only two drummers who could fill in for each other in a pinch.
Portnoy
Best two ever in history
Jimmy Chamberlain
gavin harrison
Dave Lombardo
The respect between these two...epic yes. Not a pissing contest...just vibing.
Danny's smile watching Tim... Amazing Video!
It's like seeing two of your favorite superheroes together.
Nothing on earth is more thrilling than watching a real drummer live, someone at the top of their game and also with such loud, booming and resonant kits. It’s just deeply and primevally satisfying.
I could watch & listen to Danny Carey all day every day. Him , TOOL& J.SATRIANI
HAVE MY♥️come on rock me & loud!!!!
didn't know DC played with Satriani! Nice.@@kellyparsons4072
Yes it is
2 of the most creative rock drummers alive. RIP Neal Peart and Sean Reinert
"Epic Jam Session" 😎 drum gods working on their triplets together.
Dude I just watched this and just giggled and banged my head omfg
2 LEGENDs of the kit 👌👌👌👌
Never been a big fan of drum battles, but there is always an exception to the rule :)
This is great, they both feed off each other the way they would if they were playing with any other instrument "lotsa groove going on" ***** 👍
AMAZING! 2 great drummers having a blast for fans.
Love you Danny!
On the drive to this show I wished for two things, they play a Tool song and Southbound Pachyderm. I was not disappointed. I was up in the balcony so thanks for posting this view.
You LUCKY bastard!!😮
Must have been a great show…. And Southbound Pachyderm is the jam!!!
Awesome. Everytime I mention Southbound Pachyderm, no one knows what I'm talking about.

Always been one of my favorites. The intro is unmistakable 👍
Danny Carey is the GOAT!!! No close second.

Phil and Chester would approve.
Outstanding
Two of my favorites! Unbelievable 🎉
This has such a drumline groove cadence to it
Complete greatness!!!! Absolutely kicked ass!!! Thank you for sharing!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Epicness 😳🤯🤘👍👌🥁🥁🥁✌️🖖
Both are great.I cant say who better
This is so f’n cool! Wish things like this happen more often
That's cool!
Danny Carey can rock my world & id ask MORE PLZ!!😊
That was fun. Wished I’d know about this event.
My two favorite of all time the best in my book
Legend 🔥
Thunder of the gods...
I used to see Primus a lot in the late 80s and early 90s when Tim had the Pork Pie drumset..
Pepperidge Farm Remembers
You probably were not even born yet and have sour grapes but hey enjoy your “math rock”.😂
I always liked the sound of Tim's Pork Pie snare over anything else he played. I miss that super tight crackling sound!
Yeah, I always liked how they looked too.. I don’t see Pork Pie drums as much as I used to.
Wish I knew them earlier. First time I ever heard of them was when they opened up for Anthrax and Run DMC at the Civic Center in Poughkeepsie New York in the early 90s. They F'n stole that show. Instantly became my favorite band
Greatness. Period
Absolutely

PTSD from Uberschall, Double Down Las Vegas, early-mid 2000s. I was there, man. IYKYK
wow!!
Wow
Fkn A bro thanks for the upload!!! 🤙🤘
Phenomenal
Ya. Exactly! Peart! 🖖😁🤘🇨🇦
Love the Zappa shirt on Danny.🤘
Bringing the thunder!!!!
😂🤣🤪I ❤how Tim threw that stick up with NO INTENTIONS WHATSOEVER of trying to make it a catchable thing.👌👍✌️🤘🖖
This reminds me so much of Manowar's Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy drum solo.
What a great idea this was.
If this ain’t going to make aliens reveal themselves idk what will
Epic
The intro to southbound pachyderm is the best piece of drumming in all music
Bad assed as usual!
My head would have exploded
No drums were harmed in the making of this film!
Jesus!
I hope whoever recorded this actually got to experience this performance!
I was on the rail! Great show.
Literally my 2 favorite drummers of all time. Sorry to all the other legends. But these 2 have opened more doors for drums and music than any other 2 musicians I can think of
Jimmy Chamberlain mentioned both of them
Same here, Primus and Tool are my favorites
Kool s***...
Melvin's often tour with two drummers and also have several similar spiritual experiences on yt, if you dug this, like I did

Now that would have been cool!
Love the Phil Collins/Chester Thompson jam.
A lot of people were probably done living that night. Thousands of bucket lists were finalized.
Absolutely love Tim "the gin-sing drummer" and Danny
This was of epic proportions/historic
2 masters
In-freakin-credible!!!! Sometimes, lighting does strike twice!!
Wow. Thats all.
Cannot believe I got to see this, unreal
Danny Carey and "Herb" the gingeng drummer bothl on one stage.....? Only to have Claypool and La londe join in at the end? I can die now.
Danny's the GOAT!
I’m guessing Sully wants to contest this 🤗🧐 . The beginning sounds like Battala dos trombonjes ( ugh I forget my Spanish)
Wow...just wow. Watching the two of them keep EXACLTY the same double-bass for the whole time is *simply fucking ludicrous*. No drummer, NO ONE, keeps the same time as another. It was a one-off tribute show for a friend (Jimmy Hayward) who has cancer. Primus, with Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor (and others).😊
They did in Southaven, Ms in 2016
That was a primus show and Danny made a guest appearance, his tool touring kit is 3 times that size
Saw them together in San Bernardino 2017.
Gonzo and Peart are doing the same thing in Heaven.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Holy balls…also, where’s Lars?
Is there a soundboard recording to this?
FUUUUUUUUUCK YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dam, my phone is smoking after that.
Hey man it's me Dave (Lombardo)..I got the stuff...Dave's not here..lol
In a fictional world I wonder what terence fletcher from the movie whiplash would think of danny carey
True winner was the fans
Neil Peart

Tim knows he’s outclassed, but still holds it together.
'Hold's it together?" LMAO!
They are about to open the portal to the all and the nothing
I have one critique:
Needs More Cowbell.
Aint got shit on the Rhythm Devils though
I love "musical" drumming. Exercises in pure speed are fine, but play me a song.
I bet you'd love Steve Gadd
Danny IS the goat, but Tim is nothing to sneeze at either.

I completely agree. Both are phenomenal by all means. But Danny is the best!

Well herb wins that's for sure

Who's Tim Alexander?
I like drums. Should’ve been a drummer instead of another guitar player
Even he knows he doesn't stand a chance against Danny
Lol maybe research herb Alexander before speaking such blaspheme. He's probably one of a handful of drummers dead or alive in league with danny
