The one-handed 16's on the Hi-Hats are actually nuts! It's very subtle, but as a drummer ever more impressive. Takes a long time to be able to have that level of rebound-control
Mathieu, u guy need to understando that there are different levels in that standout list of drummas, just like in the UFC. My point of the comparison I guess Mathieu, would be that even if the leagues are high levels, they have good prototypes amongst that, overall that is. Thank you.
Herby and Danny Carey, matey...You can add some Martin Lopez and Brann Dailor as well in that tight group, paolo. :-) All standouts on different levels compared to most drummers.
His cue is Les Claypool saying "2" at the beginning. So it's the same as counting 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 (how most people count), except that you have to start counting at the 2 of the first bar, not the 1. After the 2, you count 3, then 4, then back to 1, at which point the music starts.
I also like; palalapa (1st regular tom) poolooloopoo (2nd one) palalapapa (3rd one) poopoo (1st floor) shh-shh (cymbals, left one w/ left hand, then right w/ right hand) and variations of that. For me, those mostly come from Mastodon drummer.🙂
U need to realize 30m&m that Tim writed those songs himself, cuz he's a great artist, so don't worry about him playing them back, even years later, because in fact he played them for years, so...FU....JK ;)
This drumset setup is so wacky too, so fitting for the drummer of Primus haha
I’ve seen this before!! Thanks for posting
He makes it look so effortless. The sign of a true talent.
Yep. The master makes the hard look easy, and the beginner makes the easy look hard.

One of my favorite drummers of all time!
Timmy Herby sure is known as a stud drummer. Same story for one of his pals, Dan Carey, you know. Peace and pot, buddy! :=)
Twenty-year anniversary of the ol' beaver too. Rock it Herby. :D
Never noticed the little floor tom fill at 3:30 before. Long live Herb!
You knew it's now, and for over 15 years at least already; Tim ''Don't Call Him Herb'' Alexander, right? :-p
There's a simplified version of it on the record but this one is cool as hell!
He makes it look so easy!
One of the few!
Another perfect example of why the best drummers don't clown around--awesome.

Absolutely incredible talent
He's still got it!
When you f*ck like that , ya do whatever you want with your set up. He’s a goddamn rockstar
Insane drummer and rad band
grande TIM! GRANDE!
Just awesome. Great feel.
Him, Dave Abbruzzese and Carter Beauford
Holy crap! He has the same Ride setup I have!
Mine's betta :P Jk :)
Jay Lane is an awesome drummer, but Tim is so much smoother, and innovative drummer.

This guy rules. He just jumps right in with that beat. I don’t know what his que even is

@@rishikeshpandey3495 are u lost pal? :? :)
@@jeromed2 I am not sure what you meant?
That guy rules alright!
Tim shitting on 99.9% of drummers, while he looks like he’s picking up the paper in his bath robe.
The small cymbals are killer!
look how far apart the bass drums are. thats awesome. 🤣
if Rush ever records again ..... Herb 100%
Niaiseux.
Les said that Tim was such a perfectionist that they didn't need to rehearse much as a band. I can see why.
Does anyone know what his snare drum is? Loving the sound!
Le Gros Castor Brun a Wynona...oui oui.🙂 ''Nous Primus nous suçons!'' 😀
tru tru tru pa, tucu tutru pa

I don't know how the man plays with only one small 16' crash. I couldn't play a kit like that, too much nonsense, but some how Herb makes it work
Sounds like hes in front of the beat, not a good showing..
That's not a bad thing.

@@jeromed2 Writing and performing are two completely different things. Some days are better than others.
@@jsullivan2112Don't frig with me, JS... Fck! :P :) Timmy is great at both and u nerd know it ;-)
It is a high energy rock song after all. A bit in front seems appropriate.
