I can’t think of another FPV pilot content creator that risks totally losing their quad every single time they go up. You’re calm and you fly well under pressure too. Your vids are fantastic and the dolphin shot was totally worth it, imo. Great job. Thanks for posting up. Respect.

What a cool side hobby on what can probably become a boring job waiting on that ship to cross the big distances. I was an OTR truck driver, so I understand a little bit. I see the guitar and the drone, we were doing the same things in our spare time, lol.

@@patrixfpv Was "forced" to do a 16 hour day one time and I quit right after. Couldn't handle it. Company "cooked" the electronic logs, too. When I was team I only did 8-10 hours, but solo reefer it just wasn't working out that way. Too many 12-14 hour days.

As a former US Navy sailor, I wish I could have flown my 5" around USS Kitty Hawk in Subic Bay, or when I was with the Special Operations Forces in Zamboanga. Some of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Have you tried to film the luminescent trail behind Maersk Bulan at night?
Haha yeah that was funny. When I was making the subtitles I didn't want to count how many times "there" was spoken so I put "x20" just to be on the safe side 🤣
That is on my bucket list too, to fly around a Navy ship! Preferably an aircraft carrier!!! Buuut I don't think that's gonna happen 😅. Since I started FPV on ship, I have never seen again a luminescent trail. Also I would need to change to a starlight FPV cam to do that safely, which I don't have.

Good job - it's really hard to film dolphins with an FPV drone! It's easier with a DJI Mavic where you can control the camera gimbal angle. Also, those have more battery/flight time. Good job not letting the ship get away from you 😅 and you nailed the landing!! Have you tried a Li-Ion battery for your drone?
Thank you! Most of the times I nail the landings, sometime not 😅. I haven’t tried Li-Ion packs, I’m pretty sure they are good but I’m trying to stay away from them. They are quite huge and their appearance attract more attention in airports compared to Li-Po packs. Thanks fr watching and hope you enjoyed it 🙂

Props for flying off a ship in the middle of the Ocean, takes some cojones to do that, so no wonder you’re anxious 😅.
Reminded me of an Australian dude, back when drones were still a niche thing, he too worked on a merchant vessel and would fly his drone off the ship, right in front of the bow, trying to get into the dip of the wave, lost a couple too. And all by line of sight, No FPV! Think this was about 10 yrs ago now, Christ can’t believe it’s been that long. Can’t remember the channel name but he was pretty good at flying RC helicopters as well. If I find the channel I’ll come back and drop it in. Best wishes and keep flying 👍

Beautiful flight! Those dolphins were incredible! Did your goggles stay clear the whole time? I would have had terrible interference on my analog system that far behind me, flying my micros/whoops.

@@patrixfpv I can only imagine the radio noise floor on the ocean is very low compared to anywhere else full of various wifi/bt/celltowers etc electronics. You would only have the gear on the ship to contend with so long as the ship itself never blocks line of sight. Pretty cool stuff thank you for sharing.

Thank you! I have never experienced any issues with crossfire over water. Probably when you are really going far and you're flying low then maybe there will be some attenuation on the rc link.

Wow, a drone is so useful for your ship. Quick hull inspections and area reconnaisance. But the winds are huge challenge.
I've heard of future drones that can fly and dive. Would be useful too.
Hi! Winds are not an issue for FPV drones. Drones can already fly, dive and fly back, for quite some time now.

Thanks a lot man! All my 5" drones are built by myself. I use 900MHz crossfire for rc link and digital link for video feed. I'm using DJI goggles v1 and OG DJI air unit on tje drone, all stock antennas.

Yup, thats how I dunked one of my noob power loops, didn't realize I was too low due to the smooth lake that day. Nowadays I like to ensure my quad has at least a barometer+gps so I can keep referencing the altitude in the odd times I am less certain.
