They amount of facts layered up within your videos are genuinely an amazing aspect to tune in on. I've been watching your videos and plan to use your BioActive kit/setup for when my Beardie Aussie gets older/bigger and I have to upgrade the tank. Much appreciated.
I ordered a whole new setup for you for the leo gecko we took in. I can’t wait to get everything setup! I’m learning so much and it’s all thanks to you!
You got me sold on bioactive vivariums, Josh. You are awesome and wish that more people should go into it. Not only is it more habitat-like for our animals but also so much more beautiful than just say aspen mulch or newspapers. I have just gotten myself my first snake and it's a Kenyan Sand Boa and I watched your video of it with your Sand Boa and it was the most awesome feeling to know that your products cater to sand boas too! Very little info out there about substrates for sand boas and your explanation for why sand is not the natural habitat of the sand boa was very confirming. I go check out the Kenya landscape on google and it does not look desert -like at all!! I am sure they have deserts too but your bioactive products help me get started. I just ordered a Kenyan Sand Boa Bioactive Kit from you and I cannot wait to receive it!!!! Thank you!!
We are adopting a juvenile be ready tomorrow. Once I get him settled in, I will be contacting you. I really want to get a bioactive vivarium set up for him. I’m so excited to get started!
Hi Paula. I look forward to serving all of your bioactive needs in the future! If you would like something a little more custom than the remade kits on the website, feel free to reach out to Customer Care Specialist at Customercare@thebiodude.com or give us a call (717)305-0684.
Just found your channel and I love it so educational and inspirational with all the information you give makes it easy for anyone to do. I have been wanting to do this for all my tanks but was very nervous to do but now I feel with your guidance I can. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge your tanks are amazing. I wish you could sell to the UK paula England
What if when you first put the terra Sahara in the tank, you over water to the point where it’s moist all over but not dripping water at all? Should I just let it dry out a bit and not mist for a while? I also have the spag moss and leaf litter in the tank, adding Springtails tomorrow and some plants.
Do you ever need to replace the substrate? I've heard that isopods can die if the substrate is filled with their waste and I've had that happen to me in smaller colonies. Does this need to be done with a planted bioactive terrarium? If so how would I go about makking sure I dont uproot the plants and leave some isopods and springtails out?
I think they're great! The Terra Sahara is exactly what I would recommend. We have a kit for Uros here: www.thebiodude.com/collections/lizard-bioactive-kit/products/uromastyx-bioactive-kit
Hi Blank, I would use this kit here for a corn snake: www.thebiodude.com/collections/snake-bioactive-kit/products/corn-snake-bioactive-kit It includes the Terra Firma substrate.
Do you have any idea when you will get more isopods and springtails back into stock? And would you recommend to put an automatic mister in the enclosure so that the enclosure would be misted every day?
Hi Josh, I have become a big fan of your products. I will be setting up a Western Hognose bioactive environment. Through my research, I have found you and your products mentioned consistently and very positively. I would like to know if all the products I need and the Springtails and Isopods can be shipped together? (Want tank well established before I get my new “baby!”) Thanks and I am looking forward to using your products!
Hi MrChenMan. We do not ship internationally at this time. Canada will be coming soon! Keep an eye on our Facebook as that is where we will announce it.
I bought a bearded dragon setup and I added the bio shot and it’s been about a year now and there is so many small bugs in the tank now that I can see them crawling on the veggie dish. Is that normal or should I change it all out. It is not on my dragon that I can see.
I'm not trained in this or anything but I'm pretty sure your gecko will be ok. Anything closer to a natural habitat is going to be a good move. If anything maybe its what your gecko needs? Hope this helps your decision.
I think it depends on the severity of the eye. For example if they have trouble catching food (increases the chances for impacttion. I’m sure it’s ok but you should want to be safe

Thank you so much for the kind words, I really do appreciate that! Thank you, Josh
It's also much easier to maintain since you don't have to do too much cleaning.
I'm a gonna try to help you get more subs. What you are doing is really great. More people should be into it.
I got 2 of these setups they are so great, makes the room smell good too.
Very helpful!
Thanks, very useful video for many people
I used this for my madagascar ground gecko or paroedura bastardi setup, added alot of succulents.

Very helpful for my bearded dragons new cage
You just got a new sub 😊
Thank you!
Are you guys going to be able to ship internationally in the near future?

Let it dry out. Get your hands into the soil and turn it to get some air into it. This will help it dry out faster.
I see you don’t seem to use a false bottom and everything looks fine. Have you experimented with false bottoms though

I was wondering the same thing. Did you ever find an answer?
Does the Dude come with each biokit?
what you think about bio setups for Uros ??
I think they're great! The Terra Sahara is exactly what I would recommend. We have a kit for Uros here: www.thebiodude.com/collections/lizard-bioactive-kit/products/uromastyx-bioactive-kit
Will you be putting a kit of this online?
What type of bioactive habitat would be best for a cornsnake...sahara or flora etc
Hi Blank, I would use this kit here for a corn snake: www.thebiodude.com/collections/snake-bioactive-kit/products/corn-snake-bioactive-kit
It includes the Terra Firma substrate.
The Bio Dude Josh Halter thankyouu
Since you never remove the fecal matter from the cage do they get really stinky? Or does the bioactive help eliminate smell too?
Do you have any idea when you will get more isopods and springtails back into stock? And would you recommend to put an automatic mister in the enclosure so that the enclosure would be misted every day?
Too bad you don't ship the substrate internationally :(. I really want it though. :(
Soon Jay! I'm working very hard on all the paperwork and permits.
Hey I’m unable to get any of your products as I live in England Will this change....????
I have a 48×18×28 in. tank for my bearded dragon ,how do u recommend I set it up
Please do a update
It is coming!
The Bio Dude Josh Halter yasssdssssssss
he is so cute with those glasses haha
What do you recommend for a bioactive tegu setup
I recommend the Firma. I ll be doing a video REAL soon!
When we set bioactive vivarium for uromastyx, they need 10~30% humidity. In this case, how should i set vivarium, misting frequency and cleaning crew?
I know you said once a day with the mist king, but for how many second does it spray for with your setup?
It depends on which side of the room it is. Sometimes 45 seconds BID and some 45 seconds SID.
Hey Josh is this OK for a leopard gecko
Xavier Young it's all good my dude
Loki Sigurdsson I keep hearing about husbandry what exactly is that
Xavier Young husbandry = care.
Bad husbandry = bad care

Thank you. I do sell the complete kits on my website, thebiodude.com
Bugs are not inlcuded and are shipped separate via Fed Ex Express only.
How much substrate did you use for that enclosure?
Do you ship your bearded dragon kits to Canada? I’m thinking of making my bearded a new bioactive enclosure
Hi MrChenMan. We do not ship internationally at this time. Canada will be coming soon! Keep an eye on our Facebook as that is where we will announce it.
Hello Josh
Will be okey if i use cuc in wood terrarium ? I will silicon all craks and on top will be ABS plastic
Hi Domen. It will be fine for a while, but eventually your system will want to "eat" that wood unless it is sealed in some way.
The Bio Dude Josh Halter it will be sealed with aquarium silicone

my leopard gecko has a bad eye, its all closed up. would this stuff effect his eye any more than it is. he is on a reptile carpet right now.
I'm not trained in this or anything but I'm pretty sure your gecko will be ok. Anything closer to a natural habitat is going to be a good move. If anything maybe its what your gecko needs? Hope this helps your decision.
Go ahead and email me. I can consult with the wife (she is a reptile vet).
thanks

Look at the camera when you’re taking. I know it’s a nervous thing but look at it. That bothers me so much.
I am working on getting a better way to film. I have two people recording so I try to make eye contact with both but I know I need to improve : 0
