I've always been like this with Tekken 4 as well where that entry has my favorite stages in the entire franchise. Honestly Dead or Alive 2 through 4 are still the best games in the entire franchise and this is coming from someone who also enjoyed Dead or Alive 5 and 6.
I always loved how Tekken 4 stages were so massive that they had different starting positions you could choose.

I’ve always felt the stage designs today were lazy compared to back then!
It's them wanting everything to be balanced and boring, and the upside to that is them not having to put any effort into the stages.
This game is the best! I managed to get all the survival collectables and unlocked all the costumes and the two new modes in the menu. (CG gallery and Booster with the G4 Special, a brief history on making DOA1, 2, 3 and Xtreme)
Thanks to backwards compatibility I can now enjoy the game in full HD and record gameplay! (I just did that, check out if you have time!)

I wonder if there is any hope left for this series or 6 was the last one. I just want one more DOA game with good stages like the older one
Dragon Hills was my favorite, the multi-level transitions was like a Kung Fu movie duel where you duke it out from top to a bottom stage finale. Also, those freaking drops man!

On the DOA HK stage wen u Knock the opponent into the secret Lab with the Kazumi Clones, if u reset, u may get a Glitch wer a Clone is up in the Background just chilling there ButtAss Naked 🤣

Guys, the index picture hurts me so fucking much because I literally see how beautiful Hitomi did look before. I don't say that she is ugly now, but her adorable face what she had will never be the same.
I miss DOA's old art style so much, bro. I think the characters look really attractive in the realistic art style they go with now and DOA 5's graphics are amazing. But the old art style made it stand out so much more compared to other 3D fighting games.
I rarely get to see DOA 4 stage videos since most of it was 2U and 3, I want to see more of this.
Explore DOA3 stages next. DOA3 stages were also the best. Both DOA3 and DOA2U can definitely pass for Xbox 360 games.

why did the team get rid of the amazing interactive stages from 2 to 4?
The training mode music, Excelsior, will always be my favorite track. When DOA5 let you change the music, I always put it as the music for training haha. And what’s funny is part of that song, it reminds me of the Howard Stern show. But anyway, just in general, DOA Ultimate had the best tracks.
The Opera House stage is BEAUTIFUL
Hey reigns, if you didn't know, in DOA3 backwards compatible,
it FINALLY has all of the costumes for North American version.
And they are all unlocked by default.
Also, the European and Japanese versions of Dead or Alive 3 which feature more content can be downloaded from Xbox Live on American Xbox platforms if the region in the Xbox settings is changed to either United Kingdom or Japan before downloading.

The stages in DOA2U, DOA3, and DOA4 were very creative and unique even to this day. My favorites come from DOA2U and DOA4. DOA5 and DOA6 feel lackluster compared to past games when it comes to stage variety.
The franchise hasn't been the same since Itagaki was no longer at the helm.
@@vgmaster9 that’s true. I feel that the story, while expanded upon in Dimensions and given a proper Story Mode in 5, feel lackluster, incoherent, flanderizing, wasted a lot of potential for all characters. DOA6 was a total mess.
DOA2U had some of the best stages like that the firework stage 😩

20:00 there is a transition where the camera zooms out and the ground breaks if you do hit the ground a number of times. That was the moment I said DOA is WAY ahead of Tekken
At 40:00 it's subtle, but if you take a closer look, when you break the concrete, the footing becomes slightly uneven. It's small, but it tickles.😏
It baffles me how little sense I can find in that the more technology improves, the more uneven the care is put into certain aspects of a game. The quality of immersion in environments from DOA 2-4 in contrast to 5-6 for instance. I admit, there are good stages in 5 and 6, but not at the quality of 2 through 4. The stage interactions especially made these games special in my opinion, but they became conventionalized in DOA5 and 6. The only immersion I could find in those games' stages were during combos. So for me, at least, they lack that natural depth that almost makes me want to stick around, unlike DOA2 through 4.

Stages in DOA2-4 feels like you're actually fighting somewhere real and is actually on the planet.
Playing DOA6, nevermind the thought that it's like Tekken 5-7 with staggers, counter throws and ass holds, but it also feels like a cage match when nobody's watching.

Pretty sure I ranted a few times about the stages before, but at the very least, as technology improves, we should see improvements in what's already established, instead of digression to cater to an entirely different meta. I figured the triangle system in and of itself was evident of that.😒
The upscaled version of DOA 2. I love the vanilla edition of DOA 2 but DOA 2 Ultimate improved the visual effects of DOA 2. Too bad the og Xbox never reached South Africa. I would have played that game.

Original Noami Stages way beyond better then the Real World stages. Xbox stages made the Dead or Alive universe too real & unrealistic for the cast to feel living in. Ninja Gaiden went way more extreme, how could Raidou, one single Tengu, Omega, a Kasumi clone be any real threats at all again?! Yeah well take one more look at original DoA2 Noami stages. Tell me you didn't want to see this once original world building built-up again.
Will the old DOA please come back. I remember that’s what made me fall in love with the series, beautiful characters, with an expansive list of costumes and an expansive list of levels, and just violently kicking each others behinds in beautiful places!!! Now it’s us just fatal blowing in a ring arena. Idc what anyone says, DOA 5 and 6 were rushed and we deserved so much more.
