Honestly, I wish Ford had continued to refine the 6.2L V8 for the F-150. It could easily be the top V8 offered in 1/2 tons now. As its stands a 2011 Ford 6.2L V8 is only 9hp/ and 26ft/lbs of torque shy of a 2022 GM 6.2L V8. Ford could easily have the 6.2L making over 450hp and that much more torque now.
Well technically they still have a version of the 6.2 just in the 3/4ton and up trucks and preferably I would love to see anyone of three options 1: the 5.2 from the gt500 2:the 7.3 Godzilla or 3:the 6.2l from the f250 in the raptor R I know I'm not alone on that one lol
I personally really like the current front end and overall design of the raptor. Feels like a nice blend of both 1st and 2nd gen raptors. I really like the new grill/fender LED's. They really stick out now and are a even more so a integral part of the design. Really looking forward to the upcoming v8

Tom Liu (chinese) stated he wanted the gen 3 reminded him of iron man and video games, lmao!!!! Car companies have to stop designing outta China and making these massive grilles... I actually prefer the 2010 mainly because it's naturally aspirated and probably easier to work on. Gotta love the V8 especially with the aftermarket exhaust and the ecoboost has turbo lag. However, the newer raptor has a much better interior. Those seats look comfy.

I happen to prefer the Raptor SVT over the 2nd or 3rd Gens, but again, to each his or her own. It's all a matter of personal preference. As for performance, you are correct, the 3rd Gen Raptor R will most likely out perform both 1st and 2nd Gen, hands down. It's a more extensive build as far as the engine goes ( it will more than likely eat the TRX lunch a few times as well). But my V8 6.2 will perform admirably for what I need it for so I don't really need it to be anything more than what it is as a stock truck. And I just happen to like the original body style on the SVT vs. the updated styles. That's what I liked most about it back in 2010 and I've had no regrets. They really are awesome trucks❤️🔥
Having owned both a Gen 1 and Gen 2, the performance difference with the Ecoboost is much larger when driving it than some reviews suggest. Gotta love the 6.2, classic V8 goodness, but the torque of the Gen 2/Gen 3 makes it a totally different driving experience.
Put a tvs supercharger on the 6.2 and it would be beast. The response and average power would shit on the v6. It would Def sound more like the look for sure. That powerband and sound fits this kind of truck better. Not to mention it's 80k cheaper. Even if you don't get this good a deal on the gen 1 it's still gonna BE ALOT less money spent even with upgrades.
The 2010 Raptor has to be one of the most gracefully aged trucks in decades. So often, we see the newer models of vehicles make their predecessor(s) look less desirable----20 years later, they become more appealing
Yeah it's weird how that works, for example the 97-2004 F-150 used to make me want to puke, but now they don't look that bad to me. They're still not great looking but a lot of that 90s/2000s stuff has started to age back into looking decent, 3rd gen ram is another example
I love my 2010 6.2l extended cab. Best one and style to own. The eco's are good. But they just aren't the same. Mine has 260000 miles on it and driven daily. I love that V8.

Jacobs cab is more than big enough once a car seat is not needed. We borrowed a truck with a similar cab a few years back and it was more than roomie enough for our kids and the front passengers to have enough legroom. We could even fit a 6'4" friend in the back without too much issue surprisingly. The car seats and booster seat phase is such a pain to work around as parents.
There is a saying in my culture and it goes like this: Instead of dealing with the problems of the old, deal with the payments of the new🙄 Unless the old car is Toyota or Lexus, I'd go with the new all the time whether I like the old the most or not.

I have a 2014 black, decal delete, full load 6.2 with 100,000km (60,000 miles) It has been an awesome truck and I have a Gen 3 on order but now you got me thinking!!!! Maybe I should keep my Gen 1 for a bit longer, or maybe even keep it forever???? It still gets so many looks, mostly due to the SVC front baja bumper that exposes the whole front end and tires with the big SVC aluminum baja skid plate. It does look bad ass……. Great video guys!!!! Such a good video, I had a 2014,2017,2018 and went back to a 2013 Raptor which a crap ton of upgrades. While I love all the tech and improvements of the gen2/gen3 the gen1 is still the sweet spot for me. It still feels like a truck where the gen2 felt like a beefier car. @@raulgallardo5140 lol. 2014 was solid, grew up in the JDM days so turbos got me excited. Sold the 14 then got a 17, had major cam phaser and transmission issues. Ford took it back and gave me an 18, had mainly cam phaser issues. Sold it and went back to a 13 and been solid ever since. I should have never left !

I just sold my 2010 FX4 and bought a 2021 FX4 Lariat. So much the same but a lot of upgrades. The key pad is still my favorite feature.

While I love all the tech and improvements of the gen2/gen3 the gen1 is still the sweet spot for me. It still feels like a truck where the gen2 felt like a beefier car. @@raulgallardo5140 lol. 2014 was solid, grew up in the JDM days so turbos got me excited. Sold the 14 then got a 17, had major cam phaser and transmission issues. Ford took it back and gave me an 18, had mainly cam phaser issues. Sold it and went back to a 13 and been solid ever since. I should have never left !
