Thanks for watching! I might have forgotten to mention what character we got to play as, but it's the female necromancer Phaedra Now don't forget about that like and don't be shy! Drop a comment
@@nonenothing4412 Hedon's been here favourite game since she was way too young to be playing games like that! She's currently working on Ashes Afterglow.
The overall soundtrack and ambience in this game hooked me, it reminds me of the original Legacy of Kain, and I'm digging the level design being a little bit more linear in this one, it flows better than the first one. Great video man!
I'm glad to hear the level design is more linear and Heretic-style. The first game was great but I suck at navigating those Hexen-style interconnected maps, lol
I’m looking forward to playing this. I just picked up the first game in a sale, and I want to beat that first before starting this one. Glad you seem to be enjoying it!
Gotta mod a livestream so i cant watch all this rn but I wanted to thank you for making this. Every few months, you'll showcase a game that i have a feeling I'll play and love. Been getting that vibe from HON2!! CHEERS!!!
I like this one a lot, but felt like Phaedra had some sort weird jank with her attacks. Like they have a delay or something. So strafe shooting would end with me hitting the wall in front of me somehow, instead of shooting around it. Maybe cause of projectile travel. The OG Necromancer does not have that issue though. So I got no clue what the deal was.
Yeah the OG Necro has a lot faster firing weapons but weaker, while Phaedra has slower projectile spead and longer charge up before fire but deals more damage. So it sounds like your play style fits the OG necro imo :)
@@ThommyofThenn I've got a PC that was top spec about six years ago... little chunky now. But like you, I spend most of my gaming time on retro stuff these days!
I quite liked the first game. I found the only enemy worth resurrecting were those flying gargoyles. In large areas they go crazy and wipe out a lot of enemies. Might hold off for a couple of months on this though. If they patch anything, in typical GZDoom fashion, your save-game will become worthless
We keep always the previous version in the beta branch of the game on steam, you have to go in: Properties (of the game) > Betas > choose the version you need, it will download the previous version. We may plan a first patch of some fixes but who is about coding stuff so it wont break the saves. It's when you modify the maps, it causes to break the saves which will come much later i think but then, you will be still able to load the previous version! You can find the old version of hon1, the 2.2.0 in the beta branch, called "Legacy Saves".
Honestly, that snippet of music doesn't do justice to the OST. Watch Zlim's stream of HoN2 for a larger demo! The music even switches in different parts of the map, I think?
I've said it before and I'll say it again! There will never be such a thing as too many GzDoom games! and for under 10€ what more could you want? I also like the more linear style of the game!
Alekzi you are absolutely right there actually is! But I could read it 10 times and still forget what the items do, I need just a very short one sentence when selecting it :D
Thanks for watching!

Good to see you Zlim, thanks for popping in and brightening my day!
I'm always here for ya friend
I loved tge first one, my GZDoom obsessed daughter also loved the first one.
I bet she's gonna love this, too.
In my opinion this one exceeds the first one by a mile, especially in it's level design :D
Man it must be amazing to have a GZDoom obsessed daughter.

Braaaaah why u gotte be like this braaaah stop tossing fireballs on me Braaah - why can't we just get along Braaaaaaah

I'm building a gaming pc with an ibm 8513 crt with a maximum resolution of 640x480 to play all these boomer shooters
Oh man that is awesome! 🤘
I'm on console, but honestly it's the boomer shooters that make me want to switch to PC, not the AAA's

@@EmmanuelEXEf06 Ah good to know. I guess I will be safe for a while then. I got my saves messed up a fair few times with Hedon I seem to remember.
There is also the Ice Golem, their ice thrower do massive damage, they can help you to beat strong enemies! but yes, the gargoyles are brutal ^^

Ah nice Lazer! Make sure to play as the new Necro for more of a fresh experience when you get to the second one :)
Gonna listen to this as i chop wood. And in some "schools of magic" lol, necromancy can refer to *raising* the dead as foul servants of darkness
That is so awesome, I hope it's an enjoyable listen even though there was a bit more gameplay then I usually cut in :D
Not fan of music and how magic looks. i'd give it a try anyways
