That scenario almost happened on one of the older episodes. They predator drove by and saw the cops arresting another predator. He called the decoy and she said not to worry, that it was an issue with the neighbors. Being the predator that he was, he couldn't help it, circled the block a few more times, then came over...
this might be clear indication that they have been in scenarios where they did predate on the minor and got away a-okay. Didn't get caught the first or second time, so they must be brilliant masterminds. It's truly terrifying how many men on To Catch a Predator suspected that the whole thing was a sting/setup, but they go to the house anyway. It's terrifying because their compulsion to be with young girls/boys is so uncontrollable that they're willing to show up for a hookup, even when their intuition is telling them that something is sketchy.

I’m pretty sure Chris Hansen’s team asks the right questions to get the guys to incriminate themselves, and make it clear that the person that they’re talking to is not of age. Once they show up, I believe it is seen as intent, especially when plenty of them describe explicit ask if they want to do with a minor. Also, Chris has worked with law-enforcement before, so he knows what he needs to get them to say to make it crystal clear
I work as a corrections officer, new guy, been on the floor for a couple weeks now. I can attest that there are some people you might not expect to be in there. On one of my shifts I was in a segregation housing unit where they put the more societally dangerous inmates in, and I found out the owner of a popular nail salon in our town's mall was there for possessing CP. I hadn't even known though, since our town's newspaper shutdown during the pandemic.
I'm so glad this show is back on. I absolutely loved "To Catch a Predator" and honestly, I find it fascinating how these monsters operate. I'm a huge true crime junkie, and my favorite part of those types of shows is when they dive into the killer's phycology, their mental state, their ideals, beliefs, etc. The other Chris is absolutely right, predators, killers; they all crave for the high they get from the acts of violence they commit. They will do anything to re-create the feeling they had during their first offense, which is why most sexual predators and pedophiles, are repeat offenders. You guys remember the episode on TCAP (Ken & Buff reviewed it), where the second the man walks in, he bolts for the decoy? She tells him that she will be there in a minute, and he almost chases her through the doorway before Chris steps out to stop him. He was 100% a repeat offender, and someone who had experience in that "area of expertise". Repeat offenders either had weapons, tape, rope, a camera, or some kind of paraphernalia that would insinuate capturing, harming, or raping a child. These people are the scum of the earth, but I love studying their behavior and watching them get tazed. Go Chris!
The maid: "I just came to change the towels and bedsheets! Why am I in handcuffs?! PLEASE! NOT AGAIN!" The Sheriffs : "Wait- what do you mean not again?" O-o
If you're inherently a good person, you most definitely do NOT get a warped sense of right and wrong if you're a correctional officer. Both my Grandpa and my dad retired from being correctional officers and they are/ were the most good and honest people I've ever met.
I think majority of people leave that field BECAUSE their sense of right and wrong can't be warped. Whether it's because they can't change anything or whether they're the kind certain management can't coerce into doing the wrong thing.
@Mark Asread Isn't that the goal? To do something meaningful for a living? You're going to get paid to do something may as well get paid to put pedophiles behind bars lol
So the reason he made him move beds, it’s an interrogation tactic. It’s saying the way you are getting out of this room is through me, through body language.
Hi, Ken! Lawyer here. Miranda Rights don't apply here, and they do not have the right to ask for an attorney YET. Miranda Rights may be invoked during arrest and when the person is under custodial investigation. The most they can do is shut up, evade questions, and wait until a custodial investigation is initiated. It's important to evade questions and not admit anything because, since this is not a form of custodial investigation, anything you say, WITH OR WITHOUT the assistance of counsel, may be used in evidence against you. If this were a custodial investigation, the predator can argue that his statements are not admissible in evidence, because he was not given an attorney and was not asked to put anything in writing.
The fact that Chris Hansen was able to get all this info when working as a deputize citizen police is crazy. Keep in mind the suspect was already read his rights so Chris was doing an interrogation and not once did the suspect thought well maybe I should shut up. It's crazy how predators thing they can lie their way out of the police.
The only good thing about the shows temporary cancellation is that it got a bunch of people/groups to create their own versions of TCAP and have been catching people all over the country
The addict analogy makes complete sense considering their lack of concern for the negative consequences and the continuance of risky and seriously damaging activity (for all involved).
Chris interviewing after the arrest and Miranda's is a pretty bold move, but I'm shocked that the results are still the same. I've watched too many JCS videos to be this surprised.
Finally a sentence that makes sense for a case like this! I swear if they up the prison time that one would have to serve for being found guilty of these crimes I think it would deter a lot of people that are just quote on quote curious.
One of the coolest things about catching people in a lie like this, their body betrays them. Like when he says "graphite, graphite charcoal." He's shaking his head no, then realises and immediately starts shaking his head yes.
ive been binging these so hard it gives me joy seeing these creeps get caught i have two sister 15 and 2 years old and i cant even imagine what i would do if i came across some freak like these
I love how they think that saying they knew it was a sting somehow absolves them of blame. Brother, you got yourself in trouble when you entertained the idea of talking to minors on the internet 😅 Also the “squirtle” sound effect almost took me out 😂
Maybe they’re trying to make themselves sound less stupid? “ oh, I knew that this sounded suspicious. I was smart enough to know that this didn’t sound quite right.” Yeah, but you still showed up. Not to mention you need help. Professional help. No one deserves trauma because you need to get your rocks off.
As cathartic as it is to watch Chris go at the predators as aggressively as he did, I'm worried that the defense can get the interview as evidence thrown out for being coercive. Unless the prosecutor isn't even using the interviews if the chats and sting are enough to prosecute, then I'll happily watch Chris be as aggressive as he wants 😊
It seems like the interviews aren't being done with the intention of using them in the prosecution. Based on how stripped-back every other aspect of the production is, it looks like they're deliberately keeping the cameras as far away from the actual evidence-gathering and case-building as they possibly can, and only letting the crew film the parts they don't care about.
I love that this show is exposing these people but at the same time I feel that there's some side effects that happen afterwards, like the impact that affects their families. Many of these guys have kids, sisters and brothers. And believe it or not, but many of them get bullied for the mistakes of these guys and people start putting the whole family in one category. We had a neighbour that was arrested years ago for similar actions, and his children were bullied because of it all the time by other kids until the family moved and left the whole state. Society need to learn that every person is responsible for his own action and that collective punishment will make things worse.
I think about the guy who brought his 5 year old in one of the original stings. People respect that kid and feel bad for him, and afaik keep his anonymity. Idk why not all families are afforded the same respect, unless they're demonstrably enabling it.
there is a part of me that hopes the child predators knowingly come to Chris Hansen's sting ops is because they want to be caught... as a multiple childhood SA survivor they need harsher long term punishment and treatment imo
He's just gotta hope he didn't anger any inmates while he was working and that he's made friends with the other guards because otherwise he's gonna have to avoid taking showers..
I've been a corrections officer. No one hates pedos more than inmates (that aren't sexoffenders). No matter how much they might have "warped his conscience" it's not THIS much, that's all on ol' offender dude.
Both my parents are correctional officers here in Australia. They work with predators, murderers, dealers, etc, and they've never strayed from that moral path. Doesn't mean they're perfect or that COs can't do these horrific things, but I see how wound up they get sitting with these people. Takes a lot of willpower not to strangle them right there
I miss when the predators get to stroll in and embarrassingly attempt to flirt for a minute before Hansen swoops in.

Like, if given the choice between "people that rape people" and "people that want to have fun", can't we use common sense to fix the first group of people? Instead of telling people they can't go out and meet people at specific times or without a group of other people, shouldn't we be making more of an effort to tell people to not SA other people? It just sounds more sensible to me to get rid of bad to stop it from ruining good, than to get rid of good to stop it from getting ruined by bad.

That scenario almost happened on one of the older episodes. They predator drove by and saw the cops arresting another predator. He called the decoy and she said not to worry, that it was an issue with the neighbors. Being the predator that he was, he couldn't help it, circled the block a few more times, then came over...
@@bmjv77 probably there for a cupcake right? Smh predators think they are so smart but we read them like the book theyll end up in

I'm pretty sure they just say that as a way to try and make it seem like they weren't actually gonna do anything. Like "see! I knew this wasn't real! I wasn't coming here to molest a child! It was just roleplay, bro!"
It shows how sick these ducks really are
If their "intuition " was working they would not be trying to do what they try to do.
They are sick fucks, to show up after sexually explicit conversations with someone they believe is a minor. Their excuse doesn't matter, they should get life in prison with no chance at parole, because most of them continue to try again afterwards

@FuturePants why is it a lie?
@FuturePants so you're telling the truth?
Jesus Christ is lord.
Seriously, trust me. The key to understanding this is in four steps.
Forgive your parents, break down before Jesus Christ, ask for forgiveness, and read at least three books of the Bible; Genesis, Mathew, and one you chose yourself.
Please see for yourself. It all starts within the heart. To be forgiven we must forgive. Parents are easiest because they’ve loved you. It means a lot opening your heart to forgiving the grievances we all build up. Actually confronting them inside and genuinely forgiving from within your heart. That’s what greases the wheels. It’s what shows God you’re trying to take Jesus Christ’s lessons to heart. If you can’t even forgive your parents as an adult, who can you forgive.
Please, it is so important that you consider these words. Doing the inner work Jesus Christ taught personally is the key you’ve always been looking for. Those steps have deep spiritual significance and an accumulative healing effect on your soul. Going though them in order is important too. The inner work primed your soul for the true meaning you need to find.
Jesus Christ is the way truth and life.
Good thing he’s back. We need to make predators scared again.
They feed off of fear. They need help more.
I don't think fear is a big motivator. They know they'll lose everything if caught already, and just because they get light sentences doesn't mean it won't affect the rest of their lives.

I hadn't even known though, since our town's newspaper shutdown during the pandemic.
Interesting. Thanks for keeping people like that on the inside where they belong.
Twice he's been cancelled. Twice he came back. It's official. Chris Hansen is Batman.
Go Chris!
At this point, Chris hansen is like Batman who came back from retirement. The way he pulled up from behind him was ice cold.

Well… Chris got a full admission of guilt on several felonies from this guy at the end. Bravo.

Im waiting for a predator to stare at Chris and just say “but shes not 14 shes some 35 year old cop behind a screen”. Lmao
