Was confusing at first finding the wall dimensions if it meant from stud to stud or rock to rock.
Dude that is a huge point I totally left out of this series. When doing your layout you need to pay attention to and account for the thickness of drywall. Thanks for bringing this up! I will put out a short video adding this info!!
what is the difference between partition walls underside the ceiling, the underside of the structure, and all the way to the deck?
To u/s structure means to the highest structure could be deck, concrete or wood. Usually fire rated and they are also called partitions, all interior walls are partitions and exterior walls, well exterior walls. Partitions can be of many heights, then we have half walls, and bulkheads, soffits and ceilings. Parapets are above roof and above exterior walls.

I've never used one but I have used scales but as long as you have a system and it works its all good 👍
How do I find the details on iPad
The detail will have a detail number over a page number, go the page in a102 and then the detail number. On an iPad some prints will have an index with hyperlinks otherwise just page down till you find it.
Soooo how do you come up with the square footage number so you know how many sheets lol
When its time to order the sheets we will count right from the walls after framing usually, but you can divide the wall length by 4 and thats your sheet count. If you need tops then order the same number of top sheets as the bottoms.

how can you find out the height ? , still getting confused on height
The fire plan, or in the specifications will show you all the fire rated walls, they always go floor to underside of structure. All the rest of the walls are dictated by ceiling height. If a room has no ceiling then those walls also all the way up drywall and tape ready for paint. All rooms with ceilings the framing just has to go above those heights. We usually pick one length so if the ceilings are say 10'-6" we use 12' studs and don't cut them and drywall to 11' (cut a foot off a 12) same if they are 9'-6" or lower we use 10' studs and drywall to 9'-8". So check the reflected ceiling plan and fire rating.
What do they call floor lever pop ups cut outs ??
Not sure what you mean but check this out my man: In the drawings.
1. Every page is labelled - numbered and named
2. A circle with an arrow is a cut through to the direction the arrow is facing and references an elevation
3. Wall types - Every type of wall, ceiling has to be completely stated in words at min
4. Floor plan gives a birds eye view and dimensions of walls - walls labelled to wall type
5. Reflected ceiling plan - bulkheads and ceiling types birds eye view like floor plan
6. Wall types cut cut throughs shows the elevations and details for any sections
7. Elevations - Gives you details for final finishes on the exteriors of buildings.
8. Details - anything referenced in the drawing in the floor plans, section details or elevations will be here. it will be a number over a number. for ex 5/a4.6 meaning detail 5 on page a(architectural) 4.6
Specifications will be the references in writing on the drawings or in the spec books / bid package.
